I love it when people say "YES" to me!
I love it when people say “YES” to me!
I have to admit, Fundraising for this walk has been dominating my thoughts for the past few weeks.  So far I only have one donation and it’s from my mother.  I love her more than anything and her support means the world to me!  But I still have a LONG LONG LONG way to go.
I’m starting to put together fundraising events to help.
On Sunday I stopped by my local Rock Climbing Gym and they reminded…

Looking back to help handle the future
Looking back to help handle the future
2 weeks ago, during a particularly bad RA flair, I wrote a post called “Will my Spirit Survive?”  It was a very honest post full of questions and comments that I have spent a good portion of tonight thinking about.
How strong is my spirit?
Am I burdening those who love me?
Do I deserve the pain?
How much fight do I have left in me?
Was I insane to think that I was getting better?
Will I someday…

The Unintentional Massage Experiment
The Unintentional Massage Experiment
The other night I was in the middle of a massage and life happened.  The reason it was interrupted isn’t important.  But it was stopped after 2 arms and 1 leg was complete.
I ended up getting incredibly distracted and didn’t think about it until I was getting in to bed.  I pulled up my comforter and realized that the weight of the comforter hurt the toes on my one foot and not on my other. …

Cancer Sucks
Cancer Sucks
I was just so rudely reminded just how much I hate breast cancer…scratch that… All cancer.  My cousins’ mothers’ cancer has comeback with a vengeance.  There is nothing more they can do and they have just decided to stop treatment and bring in hospice.
We have all lost people to cancer.  Of course my prayers are with all of those fighting this horrible battle, and for those who have lost that…

You are going to have to fix your Chronic Illness yourself
You are going to have to fix your Chronic Illness yourself
I became symptomatic in 2004/2005.  After a few months of getting worse, still having no diagnosis, and being frustrated with my doctors, my father pulled me aside.  It’s a moment I will never forget and I think back on often.
“Kate, you are going to have to fix this.  You are going to have to figure out what is wrong with you and make it better.”
I remember being irritated and angry at him.  I…

Some Monsters Whisper, Some Scream
Some Monsters Whisper, Some Scream
When you lose your spirit, when you lose your fight, what do you do next?  How do you reclaim all that has been lost to you?
Spirit – noun
: the force within a person that is believed to give the body, life, energy, and power
: the inner quality or nature of a person
I honestly just don’t know what to do next.
When it comes to the physical pain I know that I have options.  I can alter my…

Will my Spirit Survive?
Will my Spirit Survive?
I came home from work on Wednesday and was actually excited that we were having a snowstorm that night.  My boss had already approved us all to work from home on Thursday so I wouldn’t have to tell him I was too sick to work.  I could just work from my…
