Straight Outta Athens
Over the weekend, Buchoy, the fam, and I went to Athens. Our plan was to switch out the Z for his father’s truck because he needs to move out of his apt this week.
We went to the new Urban Outfitters that opened up downtown. It’s pretty nice. Afterwards, we visited Jimmy’s new place. His place is really nice too. It feels like a dorm, but it has great amenities and a nice setup.
That night, we watched Straight Outta Compton. I had no idea that Ice Cube was so influential to the rap world. I knew he used to rap back then, but he also wrote songs for other artists. Pretty amazing. The cop scenes of the film reminded me of current issues with police brutality. It’s crazy. Overall, I enjoyed the film.
The next morning, his family and I went to one of their friend’s kid’s birfday party. There were lots of filipino food and desserts. It all tasted very good, but it kind of put me in a food coma. After some time, I wanted to go home. I was feeling sleep/tired and I just wanted to rest/study. Buchoy’s twins were there and at first, they were kind of distant with me. After a while, Gianna actually gave me hugs and wanted to sit on my lap. They’re cute, but I still don’t know how to act with children o_o
I did some studying afterwards while Buchoy took a nap. We had dinner and then went back home to Lawrenceville. Marianne came along, too, to help him move later on this week. I wish I could help, but I’m pretty busy with school ._.
