My love, the trees were big green when we interlocked

Like lock and key, we fit together with a strength I've never before seen

Our bones, like lighting bolts, coursing with energy

Under the first sunset of summer is where our lips first met, hearts skipping beats with every touch, our souls, merging into one

In the moments we spent together, we were the sun

Pure and ageless

Our faces still youthful and our heads, higher than the clouds

Now, my love, winter has fallen over us

The sun is hidden under the cover of snow-filled clouds and silver, frost coated grass replaced the once green grass we laid in together

Years have passed, calendars thrown out and replaced

Time, moving so fast, we didn't even notice it passing us by

I need to know, my love

As we age with the world, will you still hold my hands, despite their wrinkles?

Will you run your fingers through my graying hair?

Will you still look at the trees with love in your eyes, even when their leaves have fallen and their branches are barren?

I hope that, in the same way you find beauty in the world outside, despite it's changes, you can find beauty in me, even as I wilt
