The best romantic movies of all time
Tumblr media
Looking for a good romantic movie to watch tonight? Then why not choose one of these curated by the Jubimedia review team?
Juno (2007)
A film about teen pregnancy shouldn’t be able to be as romantic as Juno ended up being, but there’s something about love blossoming between friends who literally screwed themselves into a predicament that’s incredibly sweet and relatable.
Tumblr media
Her (2013)
It’s the love story of our time: a man in love with his OS. But the sci-fi film actually breaks into some uncharted territory regarding what it means to be in love with someone (or something), and what it can offer back to you.
My Best Friend's Wedding (1997)
"You’re never gonna be jello." The '90s classic is a romance that focuses a little more on what it means to be in love and a little less on the endgame. It’s also a good reminder to check yourself in the dating process: you might be chasing her, but who’s chasing you?
Tumblr media
Bull Durham (1988)
The premise of Bull Durham is weird: Susan Sarandon plays a baseball-loving minor league groupie. Kevin Costner plays a veteran baseball player. The premise doesn’t sound super promising, but the delivery is outstanding.

Tumblr media
Light some candles and settle in for a steamy read with these great romance reads curated by the Jubimedia review team.

Tumblr media
The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory
You really can't go wrong with any of Jasmine Guillory's fun, romantic romps, but this Reese's Book Club pick is especially great. Freelance writer Nik's boyfriend proposes at a Dodger's game, and the dude can't even spell her name right. She says no (duh), and the video goes viral. Handsome doctor Carlos sweeps her away from the frenzy, but he can't possibly be the real deal. Or can he?
Tumblr media
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
If you've ever carried a torch for a coworker (the scandal!) this 2016 novel will speak to you. Coworkers Lucy Hutton and her sworn nemesis Joshua Templeman have a rivalry as bitter as they come, especially as they compete for the same promotion. At least, it starts out that way.

Tumblr media
At times, it can get boring to run through the same old dates when you are in a long-term relationship or transversing the dating scene. Luckily, romantic books can inspire you by teaching you how to spice up your relationship. Here are three date ideas that will strengthen your relationship.
Arcade Date, Intercepted- Alexa Martin
We can't all be millionaires like Garvin, who rented out an entire arcade in Intercepted. However, you can head over to the closest arcade for a few hours of fun. You should remove the thoughts that you are old for arcade games. Put a smile on your face and cheer by indulging in these games while having fun. It doesn't hurt to have a friendly competition while on a date.
Tumblr media
Fancy Steak Dinner, Fight Or Flight - Samantha Young
A steak dinner is a way to go if you have the cash. In Fight Or Flight, it worked for Caleb and Ava. When they first met, the two couldn't stand each other. But, afterward, they realized escape was impossible after they were stranded on the same plane and later at the same hotel. They agreed to go on a date; who doesn't want to have a delicious steak accompanied by a drink and a chocolate dessert? The date leads to a mutual attraction, and they became an item.
Tumblr media
Breakfast in Bed by Gemma Burgess
The truth is: Everyone loves the thought of their significant other serving them breakfast in bed regardless of how simple the meal is. In this case, Abigail and Robert were accustomed to bringing breakfast to each other when they had hangovers. Plus, it's the gesture that counts regardless of the meal you choose to serve. The idea is thoughtful and shows how you care about that person.

The Most Romantic Flowers for Your Loved On
Tumblr media
We all know that flowers are the language of love, so here are a few of the most popular flowers to give to your loved one.
Lilies
For over 3,000 years the beautiful lily has been cultivated, and in Greek poetry the lily stood for tenderness. Lilies come in a variety of colours all expressing something different. White lilies express purity, innocence and sympathy while red, yellow or purple lilies are expression of pure love. Stargazer lilies are possibly the most popular variety and they are renowned for their scent and bold foliage.
Tumblr media
Chrysanthemum
Chrysanthemums, or “mums”, can be found in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours. This is a popular year-round flower around the world and again each colour expresses a different sentiment. Red mums represent “I love you”, while white mums symbolize a true and loyal love. Purple and other shades convey cheerfulness, optimism, long life and joy.
Iris
The iris comes in 200 varieties and so it only makes sense that the Greek word for rainbow is iris. Varieties include beaded, arid or beardless, and all stand for faith, hope as well as courage and admiration. The most popular iris colour is deep blue which is often given for Valentine’s Day.
Tumblr media
Aster
This aster represents love and patience and its star-like shape comes in a rainbow of colours including white, red, pink, purple, lavender and blue. The beautiful thing about the aster is they all have yellow centers. Ancient writers considered the aster an enchanted flower with the ability to drive away snakes, making it the flower to give for protection.

The Most Romantic Quotes from Literature
Tumblr media
Here are some of the most beautiful and romantic quotes from literature.
Gone With the Wind – Margaret Mitchell
“You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.”
A Moveable Feast – Ernest Hemingway
“We would be together and have our books and at night be warm in bed together with the windows opens and the stars bright.”
Captain Corelli’s Mandolin – Louis de Bernieres
“When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are to become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No … don’t blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away. Doesn’t sound very exciting, does it? But it is!”
Adam Bede – George Eliot
“What greater thing is there for two human souls, than to feel that they are joined for life–to strengthen each other in all labour, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting?”
Tumblr media
For One More Day – Mitch Albom
“You can find something truly important in an ordinary minute.”
Anna Karenina – Leo Tolstoy
“He stepped down, trying not to look long at her, as if she were the sun, yet he saw her, like the sun, even without looking.”
Les Miserables – Victor Hugo
“To love or have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further. There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life.”
The Notebook – Nicholas Sparks
“I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who’s ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.”
Dr Zhivago – Boris Pasternak
“You and I, it’s as though we have been taught to kiss in heaven and sent down to earth together, to see if we know what we were taught.”
Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
“In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”
Tumblr media
Wuthering Heights – Emily Bronte
“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”
The Age of Innocence – Edith Wharton
“Each time you happen to me all over again.”
The Symposium – Plato
“And when one of them meets with his other half, the actual half of himself, whether he be a lover of youth or a lover of another sort, the pair are lost in an amazement of love and friendship and intimacy.”
Prometheus Unbound – Percy Bysshe Shelley
“Soul meets soul on lovers’ lips.”
The Great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald
“He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God. So he waited, listening for a moment longer to the tuning-fork that had been struck upon a star. Then he kissed her. At his lips’ touch she blossomed for him like a flower and the incarnation was complete.”

What Happens to Your Brain When You Fall in Love?
Tumblr media
Since the dawn of time, everyone from astronomers to poets has tried to define exactly what love is. It’s an indefinable, abstract concept - but you’d be hard pushed to find anyone who denies its existence. So, we can’t see it or touch it, but we feel it intensely. Traditionally, we imagine love to happen in the heart; but modern science tells us it actually happens in the brain. So, just what is happening to our heads when we fall in love with someone?
Here’s a little bit of science behind the feeling of love.
Tumblr media
Euphoria-Inducing Chemicals
When we first begin to feel that intense attraction to another person, our brains are flooded with chemicals that induce feelings of euphoria - serotonin, oxytocin, serotonin, vasopressin and dopamine. Some studies show that releases of dopamine, a ‘happy hormone’, could be a natural memory booster, as it is produced in the same part of the brain that stores long term memories. This could be why you remember the first time you fell in love, or went on a first date, with such clarity.
Tumblr media
Intoxicated by Love
Have you ever been in love and felt utterly addicted to the object of your affections? Love is intoxicating because the feeling of pleasure these chemicals give you is addictive, and we always want more of it. As animals, we are driven to do almost everything in life by hormone signals. We know when to eat, sleep, and react to potential dangers, so it makes sense that we follow our pleasure hormones in the same way when it comes to love. Forming deep connections with one another is also beneficial for our survival - love, in one form or another, is essential for human beings to exist.
Visit www.jubimedia.com for an extensive library of romance eBooks and audiobooks for you to enjoy. With a curated collection of your favorite authors, as well as the latest bestsellers from up-and-coming talent, you’ll never be short of a book to fall in love with.

Tips on how to keep a long distance relationship strong
Tumblr media
Love is a tricky ball game and it can be even harder when you live a long distance apart. If you’re in a new long-distance relationship or your partner had to move away from work, here are a few tips on how to keep your relationship strong.
Communicate lots - We’re very lucky that in the modern world that we have plenty of opportunities to talk to people miles away. Whether that’s by video calling or a general phone call, communication is a lot easier today for long-distance partners. And, we’re also lucky of how instant text messaging and social media chats are. If you’re a long-distance apart, try and keep communication regular, whether that’s a few texts a day checking in or a phone call to catch up on things every day. Whatever it is, it’s important that you both make the effort to check in on each other regularly.
Tumblr media
Plan your meetups - Missing each other is one of the hardest things about being apart, especially if you don’t know when you’ll be reunited again. The way to tackle this is always planning your next meet up. It could be one of you agreeing to see the other, meeting in the middle or going away on vacation together. When you’re reunited, it’ll make your time together even more special as you don’t have each other for long.
Tumblr media
Reassure each other - In hard times, we always look to our partner for love and support but if you’re not physically able to be there, reassure them in as many ways as possible. This could be by a simple message, sending something in the post or a surprise visit.
