As you may know, the whole YouTube AI age verification thing is going to be implemented on August 13th, sadly to say this is nothing but censorship, plain and simple, there is no way in the world I'm putting my ID, selfie or credit card out in the open like that, that would cause more problems if you put this kind of sensitive information out there like that, and what's worse if you're over the age of 18, the AI will override the age that you verified on your account, which is messed up (I know), it sucks, but what you can do is first: Don't panic!, Second: You can sign this petition here before the August 13th thing rolls by, here's the petition down below, the more signatures, the better!👇🏾

uhm some thoughts i had just now

i feel like a big reason shelly and vee go so well together is bc neither of them are ever really seen past the surface level.

vee is a fucking star. shes bombastic and cool and everyone loves her. all face. a lot of her interactions are just about her show, or the fact that shes a computer- her 2 most prominent and in-your-face aspects. nobody wants to see anything else so thats all she gives them, even her close friends (probably force of habit from everything else). shes so used to this that she actively avoids opening up to others. shes literally a celebrity among the toons- everyone loves her, but very few know her.

shelly's got kinda the opposite going on. shes very often ignored and forgotten, several toons even forgetting her name / very basic details about her beyond just the whole 'dinosaur' thing. most other toons only really talk to her about the most basic shit they could literally say to anyone (using her as a way to just say their thoughts to Someone and not actually have a real conversation with her) or to ask her to help them with stuff because thats her whole thing, she wants to be helpful. she puts so much effort and commitment to being supportive to others because shes trying to give enough care to them that it can fill the gap of not receiving any of it herself, intentionally or not. (not the entire reason ofc- i do think thats genuinely just part of who she is, but this definitely contributes to it.)

i think the whole sewing thing is kind of a way for shelly to try and be more useful and hopefully get acknowledged more. she so clearly wants love and affection and to be seen and heard and appreciated. she probably doesnt feel like shes enough, and is using this to give people more reasons to potentially care about her. thats why she says she wants more hobbies. she doesnt understand why things are like this and thinks that she must be the problem. that shes not interesting or helpful enough.

on the other hand, vee doesnt rlly seem like she gaf about all that. she knows shes hot shit and seems decently content with everything. she doesnt really go out of her way to talk to toons she isnt already very comfortable with, at least not for anything genuinely noteworthy. i could totally see her thinking that all the parasocial admiration she gets from most toons is enough and that she doesnt necessarily need those deeper personal connections (SPOILER ALERT SHE DOES)

all this to say i think they could (ironically) really bond over their shared feeling of "wait why the fuck would anyone actually want to know me. ???" and i REALLY wish that was explored in canon.
