I'm a very proud meowma today!! My ESA Nippet Momo just had her first shots. She did a great job, so well behaved!! She was nervous, n she talked n trembled, but she was so good!!! She was even provided 2 cases of paté style canned food because of her having issues with her jaw. Her adult teeth came in smaller than normal n she has something with her jaw that makes it seem like her jaw is weaker than normal. I consulted with her veterinarian n it is suspected that her jaw tendons/muscles are stunted. But she's happy n healthy otherwise!!
Photos are thanks to her meow-ncle.
Vaccines are courtesy of the kind n caring people at Carin' About The Strays (C.A.T.S). Thank you very much!! You're group is a blessing!!

😺 Meow-lo!! The last, n my favorite, part of my morning routine!!
Once the groomies are done, meowma gets my pretty pink baggie set up.
Meowma then says, "Ok Nippi, ready? Let's go to work!"
I dive into my baggie, but I go slow with my tail. It's fun hearing meowma say, "Watch your tail Nippi!"
Once I'm in my baggie, it's off to chores! Sometimes meowma puts her headphones half on, half off. I don't mind, because music is also therapeutic n good medicine!!!
First, we start with wiping the counters n stovetop down. Then meowma gets breakfast for myself n my brother Rosho. We've eaten together ever since we were babies. My brother has a special diet (more on that subject later), a certain canned food mixed with hard food. I also eat a canned food mix myself, but a more common canned food. I eat in my baggie while my brother eats on the counter.
As we eat, meowma gets food for the other 11 cats we share home with (personally, I think they're furry vultures!), as well as checking water for the cats n the pup. Then she checks meow-unt Lexi's guinea pig for food n water, n meow-ncle Len's bunny for food n water too.
After everyone is fed n watered, meowma does dishes. From there, it's sweeping, then the litty boxes. Finally we take trash out, n meowma gets her own breakfast n takes her medicines. Sometimes she shares with me, if it's something I can eat. After breakfast cleanup, meowma opens my bagggie so that I can leave it when ready.
I still follow her thru the day. Into the bathroom. To check on grandmeowma. Touching up the chores. Sometimes I walk beside her, n sometimes I ride her shoulder.
It's an active job, but I enjoy it!
Byesies for today!!

Daily routine part 3....
😺 Meow-lo everyone!! Meowma n I thank all of you for being patient with us. Sorry this is taking so long....
Part 3 of my routine is my least favorite part..... The bathies with the wet wipes. Better than the sink (very scary to me!!!!), but still not very liked much....
Meowma starts with my brand n paws. She then does my belly, which I greatly detest! I have a sensitive belly, n I hate it being groomed! But I do understand that it needs to be done so I don't get tangles, knots, or mats.....
She wipes me down all over, even my bushy feather boa tail! As she does, she also checks my ears for cleaning n my eyes for gunkies.
After the bathies, it's another round of brushing.
Next post, 4th n final part of my morning routine!

Daily routine part 2....
😺 Meow-lo!!
The second part of my daily routine involves meowma checking my claws for trimming, making sure my pretty pink beans are clean n there's nothing stuck in them or my paw fur. She also checks to see if that fur needs to be trimmed to keep anything from getting stuck.
She also checks my eyelash whiskers. Unfortunately mine are the kind that curve inward, towards my eyes. To protect my eyes, meowma keeps my eyelash whiskers trimmed. I don't like it much, but I like it better than the idea that I could get problems....
Meowma also brushes my belly. I don't mind it, but I have a sensitive tummy.
Next up, part 3!

Daily routine part 1....
😺Meow-lo again!! It's me, Nippet Momo!!!
My meowma n I talked last night about my blog. We both thought it be good to share some of my daily routine, since my routine helps my meowma keep to a routine herself.
Unfortunately it looks like we have to post each video separately....
Oh well! My day starts with a good thorough brush thru of my beautiful coat!

😺 Meow-lo everyone! I am Nippet Momo Goode, or just Nippi Mo by my meowma! Oh yea, this is my meowma. I'm in one of my favoritest positions to do work with her!!
Oh, what's that? Did someone ask what work a cute lil kitty like me could possibly do?? What a meowsome opportunity to this is!!! I am my meowma's ESA. That means that whenever my meowma's not not feeling good, I get to be her medicine!! When she's sad, especially when crying, I come up n purr, nuzzle, n ask her for my baba with creamy in it.
If meowma's getting too frustrated or too overwhelmed, I cuddle with her n as she pets me, my purring n the feeling of my beautiful coat helps relax her. I do my best to be cutesy n, at times of need, silly just to see meowma smile!
There are even times that I see meowma in pain, so I hug her knee to get her attention n try to comfort her. I may not be as good at it as that fancy ibo...iba... ibuprofen stuff, but I'm way cuter n much more beautiful than just a silly lil round brown thing....
I also help keep her focused n keep her company while she does chores. I even run inspection on the litty boxes to make sure they're up to code!
Well, that's it for now!! Meowing of chores, it's time for work!!
Byesies friends!!! 😸

Hello! My name is Jillian Goode, n this is Nippet Momo Goode. She is currently 1 year and 4 months old. She is a long haired tuxedo that was rescued as a runt of her litter from our porch last April. When she came inside her eyes weren't even really open yet, except for the lil corners by her nose. We have rescued 5 kittens (Nippet n her brother Rosho, as well as 3 kittens from a previous litter) from our adopted porch cat. Unfortunately, for her health n safety, as well as the health n safety of her remaining 3 boys, they were given to the local shelter where they were then fostered together, n later adopted together by the same foster.
What makes Nippet so special to me isn't just because she's so beautiful. It's not because I see as my daughter, not just a "pet." It is partly because of how strong a survivor she is, n how much she's grown. What makes Nippet Momo Goode so very special is how loving n caring she is. She's not just my furry feline daughter. She's my ESA (Emotional Support Animal).
More on family in future posts.
She knows when I'm depressed. Knows when I'm stressed n getting too mentally overwhelmed. Feels my anxiety. She also has alerted to my physical pain; sometimes before I really feel it myself. She has also alerted on my mother's seizures too. She even alerts n tends to the anxiety of her older sister Hyo.
My intentions for this blog is to try to advocate n raise awareness for true needs ESAs. What I mean by "true needs" is that these are animals performing a service to people with true mental health issues. Not people who just want to abuse the service title in order to scare landlords n business owners into allowing them to go wherever, n live wherever, they want with their pets.
That is not the purpose of an ESA. There are studies that show that animals have healing capabilities. Canines n felines are especially naturally empathetic to the people they love. I have seen in other animals as well, such as domestic rabbits n guinea pigs. That natural empathic ability allows the animal to become more attached to, n sensitive of. The person they are most bonded to. For me, of my 4 furry daughters, it is Nippet, who is my youngest, that is most bonded to me. Part of that is due to how she was bottle fed as a baby. Even though she is fully weaned, she still has an emotional attachment to her baba. I assure you, her vet said it is fine to allow the behavior, that it is the same thing as a security blanket. It would be too damaging to stop it.
Too often I have seen posts around the web of people calling ESAs "bs," "nothing more than over-privelaged, glorified pets." For people who need an ESA, this is damaging n painful! I fully believe that true needs ESAs deserve better treatment, to be recognized as being just as important as physical needs service animals. Even places like mental health clinics do not recognize ESAs. That's the best place for an ESA to shine brightest, because you're at your most vulnerable emotional state when you are talking to a therapist about your past history.
I have tier 2 bi-polar syndrome, depression, anxiety, bad social anxiety, n am in the 80 percentile of people most likely to have Asperger's Syndrome. I have issues controlling my emotions, especially when stressed. I am prone to getting easily mentally overwhelmed. As previously mentioned, I do experience some pain issues, especially regarding migraine-like headaches, abdominal pain due to chronic cystitis (bladder inflammation), n she has even started to alert on me when she senses my menstrual cycle coming before I start to spot. As a bonus, she also tries to wake me from bad dreams.
I may look physically healthy on the outside, but not on the inside. Mental health issues are real issues that deserve equal treatment n respect.
After this post (my apologies for the length!!), I will be highlighting all the moments of Nippet doing what she does best, being my daughter n ESA. The majority of these posts will be from her perspective, her telling the story. Please don't judge her too harshly, she is still a baby (at least in the sense that she's not a year old yet).
Thank you for letting me ramble on like this on a very near n dear to me subject!

😿 I agree with you Blues. You can't fight ignorance with more hate n violence! This makes me a sad kitty, n my meowma hates when people react this way. Even my meowma said this is not how awareness works, n it makes our jobs harder... 😿 meow

Hey, please don't park your bikes in handicap areas unless you have handicap tags!! That spot is needed for vans with lifts and ramps! It inconveniences people like my papa who are disabled to not have enough space for their ramps and stuff!! Even if you don't think you're taking up much space, that little bit of space may be the difference between needing to find another spot further away and having space to get out a disabled person!

Way to go Blues!!!! That's definitely a big hop in the right direction for advocating rabbits as service animals! I hope I do as good as you!
So your bunny is learning to be a service animal. For ESA or disability?? What cues or triggers has he picked on??
Blues is learning to be a service animal for both, actually. ESA because mentally, I need a rabbit around to be present in general with anything and not isolate myself. For disability, he's picked up the ability to alert me when he knows a seizure is coming on, when my blood sugar drops, and when I need to rest. His cue for seizures is to get right by my head and nudge it if he's beside me. His cue for me needing to rest is leading me back down to my room and refusing to stop until I get the hint and lay down. His cue for blood sugar is nudging my arm. He also faces me against the side of his room closest to me while in his room on days he knows I'm not feeling well. Otherwise he'll just lounge on the opposite end or play.
I apologize if this isn't very cohesive. I'm not feeling well today, but I do hope this answered your question sufficiently enough!
Technically, a rabbit cannot be registered as a service animal. Only a dog or small horse can. Rabbits at this point in time are only recognized as suitable ESAs. But we hope someday that will change...
