realizing my binge eating disorder was really just a coping mechanism for my depression/anxiety/anger made all the difference in not binging. like genuinely for anyone struggling with binge eating that isn't in response to a high-restriction diet (because high restriction = your body trying to get sustenance anywhere it can get it through binging because your body needs calories) before you go to the kitchen, ask yourself how you're feeling first and if food is really going to kick that feeling in an hour, two hours, etc. force yourself to sit for at least 5 minutes first and think. it won't because the high from eating won't last any longer than the shit you're going through, and you'll be ashamed after and have to repeat the cycle to get that brain hit again from food. we need emotional regulation and healthy coping mechanisms in here not 20 of those low calorie fiber brownies we all eat
