on the one hand it's pretty cool when athena disguises odysseus as an old man, but what if that was a lie to spare him from the pain of knowing for certain that no one could recognize him anyway?

sometimes I think the pandemic didn't impact me mentally *that* much and then I'll hear about something that happened in 2019 and my immediate thought is, "oh, only last year!" and then I Remember™ and I have to make a metaphysical effort in my head that, actually, 2019, was almost 5 years ago and I want to die a little bit. we lost and continue to lose so much time to this virus. whether it's time in the world or time with people we lost. it's such a strange grief we all carry and are expected to be normal about.
#in my head i am still watching ratatouille with my friends on my seventeenth birthday#the month before the world stopped moving#the last time I’d ever see some of them in person#time
