not really a question but i’ve noticed that so many of jjp’s books are in such good condition! and jinyoung even reads his by folding the front page over sometimes and they’re still fine! i wonder if they ever dog-ear their pages or write in them?
In the urbanlike interview JaeBum mentions he uses the dog-ear method of bookmarking; as well as writing his pen-name (at the time Defsoul) on the front cover.
I want to say they also write in the side columns of books tiny notes regarding sentences they’ve read. I believe I read that in an interview some time ago, but I’m not 100% sure.

Your blog inspires me to get back to leisure reading huhuhu so swamped with work and grad school i can’t even read a book for fun huhu
Aww thank you. I totally get you, I think if you can’t read for fun, if you like maybe try an audible book? Even if it’s half an hour when traveling between work and school or when you get a break =]

世界から猫が消えたなら Sekai kara neko ga kietanara (세상에서 고양이가 사라진다면 / If Cats Disappeared From The World By 川村元気 (Genki Kawamura)
The young postman’s days are numbered. Estranged from his family and living alone with only his cat, Cabbage, to keep him company, he was unprepared for the doctor’s diagnosis that he has only months to live. But before he can tackle his bucket list, the devil shows up to make him an offer: In exchange for making one thing in the world disappear, the postman will be granted one extra day of life. And so begins a very strange week that brings the young postman and his beloved cat to the brink of existence. With each object that disappears, the postman reflects on the life he’s lived, his joys and regrets, and the people he’s loved and lost. This timeless tale from Genki Kawamura (producer of the Japanese blockbuster animated movie Your Name) is a moving story of loss and reconciliation, and of one man’s journey to discover what really matters most in life. - amazon Source: GOT7 TOURLOG Ep.09, theoeng1621

“Discover your own music completely inside you. And zoom in on to it.”
Tanzen ist die beste medizin (뇌는 춤추고 싶다 / Dance is the Best Medicine) By Julia F. Christensen, Chang DongSeon
“Healthy, Happy, Smart - With Dance To dance is a lifestyle! Dance, health and happiness belong together: Dancing is a work-out for mind and body – it exercises our muscles, trains our balance and coordination, reduces stress, and it is a better protection against dementia than any crossword puzzle. It relieves the symptoms of anxiety and depression, boosts our self-esteem and trains our empathic abilities. Dance is also a reliable companion in matters of the heart. ‘Putting your red shoes on’ not only protects against heart disease, it might even save your love life: because sometimes the way to someone’s heart is through their dancing feet. A scientific conference on a Greek island, the Greek God of healing and dance, Apollo, and two young neuroscientists with a passion for dance provide a charming background story for many surprising and fascinating scientific facts about why humans dance, how dance is a means of expression, and why dance is a social glue. The authors explain why dance is a symbol of beauty and seduction, at the same time as it has the power to heal our mind and body.” - rowohlt Source: prdsdef

Excepts of the book JaeBum posted on his IG Story:
“No matter how great the results turn out to be, if the process for it cannot be beautiful, then it is only a good success that is worthless and looks good only from the outside. in addition, if that success was achieved rapidly, its fall is a matter of an extreme short moment.”
“And there’s no law to say that you must arrive late if you had set off late. Because the walking pace of each person differs from person to person. Like how being late isn’t a bad thing, I would like to say that being quick isn’t always a good thing too. The important thing would be, did you do your best in living the life given to you. In this path I’m walking on, how sincere have I been, how much of my best did I put forward, how much of the things that I looked at did I feel. Truly, what makes this path have its worth is not the time (spent on it) but the details, the intensity and the depth of the world I’m looking at in that time. Therefore, your present is never late. There is no such thing as a late start in this world. In every matter, in every starting point, “this moment” is a start that is sufficient. Because it is “this moment” it has started.”
“No matter the kind of success, it cannot be achieved without a slice of failure. Therefore the collapse/ruins from the present it is simply a process of heading towards success. As failure is not a failure but merely a piece of success. It is simply one of the rivers flowing towards the sea known as success.”

당신의 마음을 안아줄게요 (I will hold your heart) By 김지훈 (Kim Jihoon)
To you who want to cry, to you who hesitated. This book was introduced at first as a recommended book for women with depression. It has been read by many readers as a good book for depression and insomnia. This book that touches your heart every night. The book asks you to look at the your hurting heart, of which you couldn’t tell anyone.
This book is recommended to those, who has closed their mind to the unrelenting sympathy that comes back to someone. And as you read the book with your heart thick of consolation, you will find yourself at ease and comfort. - yes24 Source: JaeBum’s IG Story

나는 죽을 때까지 재미있게 살고 싶다 (I want a Fun Life until my Last Breath) By 이근후 , 김선경 (Lee Geunhoo, Kim Sunkyung)
“Life is not all beer and skittles. So to some life means pleasure, to others suffering. Those with having difficulty living a life would think they will be happy someday or at one point in the near future. There are different aspects of life in the world but one thing people hope for their life would be happiness. Here is a book introducing some tips of life for people who want to be old nicely. The writer explains 53tips of life to add his anecdotes. While for those who face the time to look back on their life, this book would be a good guideline to enrich lives, for the young in full vigor, this book gives time to imagine their future self. I would like to introduce some words in this book, the golden days of life is right now which is one of 53tips. Life is here and now. The time and space to enjoy happiness is right now, here. Someone who can’t realize these feels unhappy keeping his or her eyes on the different things, not in now and here. To bring out happy emotions in our brain is an endorphin. Endorphins are not produced by the happy memories of past or the happiness to come but released when we are happy. Some would ask how we feel always happy because people sometimes feel sad and pain. But it needs to think out of the dichotomy.(…) Tolstoy said, “Love what you’re doing now. Love this moment. Love the person you meet now,” In this age of technological development and capitalism, people set the happiness criteria for something regressed, not more sophisticated. It is important for contemporaries to remote things which distress us or relax like a kind of primitive life. In other words, feeling happy is not that difficult thing. We always live for happiness but our happiness comes as an instant not long lasting. Do you want to live better? The writer says, “As tracing our marks of life, there is no boring age. There exist a number of right enjoyments in life at any other time. If you live feeling that enough, your life is successful.”” - culturemmag Source: Matchpoint

We Need To Talk About Kevin By Lionel Shriver
“The gripping international bestseller about motherhood gone awry. Eva never really wanted to be a mother - and certainly not the mother of the unlovable boy who murdered seven of his fellow high school students, a cafeteria worker, and a much-adored teacher who tried to befriend him, all two days before his sixteenth birthday. Now, two years later, it is time for her to come to terms with marriage, career, family, parenthood, and Kevin's horrific rampage in a series of startlingly direct correspondences with her estranged husband, Franklin. Uneasy with the sacrifices and social demotion of motherhood from the start, Eva fears that her alarming dislike for her own son may be responsible for driving him so nihilistically off the rails.” - goodreads Source: nnikollove

철학은 어떻게 삶의 무기가 되는가 (How philosophy is the weapon of life) By 山口周イ (Yamaguchi Shu)
The author, a senior partner of the world's number one management and personnel consulting firm, majored in philosophy at university and studied aesthetics in graduate school. “I have never had formal training in management, but as a consultant I have never had a hard time solving business problems across management. If you think about the situation in front of you in terms of philosophy, psychology, and economics, there has always been a clue to the solution.” People think philosophy is useless because they do not know how to connect philosophy and business. Rather, the author says that philosophical thinking penetrates the essence and finds the optimal solution is the most necessary weapon for modern people. How Philosophy Becomes a Weapon of Life, which contains 50 philosophies and thoughts that he uses usefully in the field of business, is the world's most practical guide to philosophical use. As one of the most consulted consultants in Japan, the author focuses on the problems and solutions in our lives right now. With a firm footing in reality and a new perspective on philosophical concepts, readers will gain a philosophical way of thinking that maximizes intellectual combat in every aspect of life, from everyday worries to business strategy. - yes24 Source: Soompi

당신의 조각들 (Pieces of You) By 타블로 (Tablo)
Hip hop group Epik High's leader Tablo has written a bestseller. The short stories in "Pieces of You" were written when Tablo was attending Stanford University. Tablo's friends say that his first short story "Andante" was applauded by his professor Tobias Wolff during his Stanford years. - amazon The book consists of ten short stories, all written during his college career from 1998 to 2001. All of the stories were written for class assignments during his undergraduate years, thus his audience were his professor and classmates. Some stories are very controversial and self-reflective for those readers who are in their early twenties. - wikipedia ""My heart was closed. Cold. I was self-conscious and cynical. These are the pieces of my youth, the small secrets and not-so-great expectations that defined my coming of age. But through this craft, through my love for writing, I discovered a world outside of the small windowless one I had built for myself. A world of soft-spoken beauty. So here I am, Choosing to kick away the ladder So that I may remain at your side. I understand your solitude I see your shadow." 2009 Feb. Tablo" Souce: Definer

English Versions of JJ Project Books They’ve Read
. . .
It’s done... :D
This is the official page for all you English Readers \^-^/
It is currently up to date with multiple links to buy the book (just click the book title). I will update as JJ Project decides to share new books that they read.
You can access this page either posting the link on mobile, or on pc/mac it’s just on the side bar menu at the bottom (No.09) =]
I tried to include a link to a major bookstore chain based in Canada, US, United Kingdom, European Union, & Australia, but let me know if I missed a bookstore chain in your country, I’ll add it on. Also, if there are links missing, it just means that particular bookstore was sold out in the book, I would always check your local library or bookstore.
There were a lot of books that are not translated, unfortunately (esp Korean authored ones), but there are a couple gems to (re)discover.
Have fun reading ^_^
