The Spider and the Moth

Inspired by the Butterfly and the Spider

Yugi Muto a Luna moth travel far from home of flying and hitching rides ending up in Egypt getting caught in a spider’s web. Yugi being not afraid of death due to Luna Moths only having 7 days to live, but at the same time fear it struggles to break free only making him more stuck..till the owner of the nest comes in. Atem the Camel Spider drops in seeing his prey ready to devour it but stops…due to never seeing an insect and prey like Yugi…seeing a prey he never seen and caught before spares him, but keeps him his web warning him to not to escape or even try to. Yugi having no choice agrees since he never been in Egypt before. As 2 days pass Atem begin to develop feelings for the moth…he never seen a moth nor being such as Yugi..same for Yugi even though he feels pity for the other insects Atem devoured that got caught in his web. Atem propose his love to Yugi at a full moon…the moth accepts and smiles sadly knowing his time is almost up..Atem unaware of the Luna Moth’s life span didn’t notice the sadness in Yugi’s eyes but that he was getting weaker. Yugi spent his final days with love and joy with Atem …the 7th day arrives and Yugi leaves a letter for Atem telling him not to open till the Next day..and for him to hug him as he “sleeps”. Atem agrees unaware of what to come the next day and that this day will be his last time with Yugi. The 8th day comes and Atem finds Yugi unresponsive..he screams his name asking him wake up, but no avail…he looks at letter seeing and reading what Yugi had wrote to him and of Luna Moth’s 7day short life span and only propose is to reproduce. Atem in pain and anguish and despair hugs Yugi’s body wondering why was fate, nature and life so cruel and why were Luna Moth’s only born that way and given only 7 days to live….

my favorite thing about puzzleship fanfictions where the boys dont know each other is the author trying to explain why yugi and atem have the same hairstyle. it usually goes something like

Huh... that's weird! Anyways!

Post-canon with Atem Alive scenario and he lives with Yugi. I wanna see a scenario in which they argue / had a serious fight. We've never seen Puzzleboys *argue* before so I really wanna see it 😂😂

I also wanna see it in Kaiba's pov (in Rivalship scenarios) because Yugi would retreat to him (because Yugi still shares everything with Atem and he doesn't wanna See Atem rn) and it's the first time Kaiba witnessed Yugi in a Bad Mood like this (with Atem as the Reason 😂)

(Also, Kaiba can handle it if Yugi's sour mood was directed to him but this time it's directed to Atem and he doesn't know what to do because Puzzleboys had *never* argue before so when they did it must be *Something* 😂😂)

Poor Atem. I can see that servants guarding the millenium puzzle until the eventually fall of Ancient Egypt would regard the object as possessed by a dark spirit, an evil spirit, a demon, etc etc. And this is carried down to modern day explorers until Solomon finds it.

Imagine if Yami Yugi could hear people talking shit about him, calling him evil, a demon, a devil, some dark and twisted spirit. And he has no idea why. Only the darkness is his friend, his companion and constant through thousands of years of solitude. So imagine that he just internalizes all of that without realizing it.

But what he really wants is one true, tangible friend.

Solomon knows that the object might be cursed but he gives it to Yugi with the belief that the warnings were exaggerated. Yugi doesn't mind. He wants a friend so badly that he casts a wish on the puzzle as he completes it, and the puzzle responds.

The darkness recedes. The evil gaming demon returns, and he won't tolerate threats to his vessel. He'll be the demon that they're all so afraid of.
