This is your reminder that telling rural queers to move to bigger cities or different countries because they are often more "queer friendly" is not a solution. There will always be queer people in rural towns, and not all of us want to leave our small towns. Those who do are probably stuck financially because, in case some of you don't know: relocating to a different city or country is fucking expensive.

bisexual attraction is inherently queer! yes, even if one of those modes of attraction "seems" inherently heterosexual. it's not! unless the individual chooses to label it as het, bisexual men being attracted to women is queer. bisexual women being attracted to men is queer. get used to it!

🪴NEW VIDEO🪴 A little late due to my own poor planning, but I had fun with this one… or at least some feelings. #linkinbio Backstory: I’m preparing to start teaching a couple of college-level courses next month, and I’ve been trying to put together a wardrobe that makes me feel both confident and “professional.” The latter word confuses me to no end because in the couple of full-time positions I’ve held since graduating from undergrad, I’ve been told I was doing a little “too much.” I specifically remember a white blouse and checkered white and black skirt that hit my knees. I wore black flats with this outfit and went into work only to be told that I should wear black jeans and the same blouse to be more comfortable. When I came in the next day in my black jeans, I was asked not to wear them again. The American Eagle jeans were exactly the same as a smaller woman’s in the office, but I was too nervous to point this out and ask what exactly about my pants was a problem. When I returned home my partner told me how great my butt looked that day and I immediately understood. My body was getting me into trouble again. The university hasn’t yet given me any sort of wardrobe guidelines outside of the fact that open-toed shoes aren’t a great idea. I can understand that: I would be the one to trip over my sandals in a fire and prevent folks from escaping in a timely manner. Thinking about having a “too-much” kind of body and researching professional clothes for plus-size figures helped me discover this article about how the rules apply differently to every body. In this video, I chat about how much this needs to change and how we have a responsibility to hold ourselves and others accountable. 10 - 15 hrs/wk

Marketing Intern Duties:

• Increasing brand awareness of LGBTQ+ Revolution 2.0

• Booking the author on podcasts/panels/zoom conferences/journalistic articles/etc.

• Doing LGBTQ+-related research for the weekly newsletter

• Design effective marketing strategies and campaigns in MailChimp, Canva, etc. to be used on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

Marketing Intern Benefits:

• Flexible schedule (you're a student!)

• Real input into the book strategy (you're a team member!)

• Travel opportunities (dependent upon lockdown)

This position is unpaid, but JFP will do whatever is necessary to help you receive academic credit for your hard work. This position is unlikely to exceed 10 hours a week.
