The Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is now taking place at United Nations Headquarters in NYC.

Grand Chief Wilton Littlechild, a Cree Chief from Canada, is among more than 1000 indigenous representatives from around the world who are discussing ways to protect their collective rights to lands, territories and resources. This is crucial to tackle global challenges such as climate change and loss of biodiversity.

Globally, there are around 370M indigenous peoples who face challenges to their right to self-determination, traditional lands, education and more.

If you live in Inglewood, you have to drive 25 minutes or bus 2 hours to get organic groceries at often expensive prices. This single, obvious barrier gives people the idea that they can never be vegan or eat healthily because it is too expensive and too much of an inconvenience. 🍍FOR 2 MILLION LA RESIDENTS AND 25+ MILLION AMERICANS, SMOOTHIES AND SALAD ARE OUT OF REACH. 🍍We'll raise the funds needed to make a lasting impact on the way people view + access food in communities across the world. I was honored to host a @freedomfirm jewelry party this week and do something, anything, to benefit a few of the 2 million children that are exploited every year in the global commercial sex trade; 500k of which are in India alone. These numbers are scary, sad, and very real. The women pictured are also very real; incredible jewelry makers, both talented and resilient, who are survivors of sex slavery in India.
