Hey so, I don't know if you've heard about it, but some people said some time ago that Loki threatened to r*pe Jane in Thor 1 during that final battle moment ("perhaps I should pay her a visit myself"). I literally had a panic attack first time I read it and was calmed down by my friend who isn't even a Loki fan, just to point it out, and said that he was sure Loki would never do that. Can you give your opinion on the topic just to idk, make some weird people realise he's nothing like that.

Yes, I’ve seen that scene, and I’ve read the interpretations of it. 

So here goes my own observation on it-

That scene occurs when Thor is trying to stop Loki from destroying Jotunheim. Loki is, to state it plainly, not in a state of mental balance here. His whole life, his world, his self-identity, everything is shattered and lying in tatters after the revelation of his true parentage. He wants to destroy Jotunheim because he wants his family to see him as an Asgardian, and not as a monster. He wants Odin to be proud of him.

Trouble is, he already sees himself as a monster, and that’s directly due to how he has been raised to view Jotuns as monsters. All thanks to Odin.

That bit aside, Thor here is refusing to fight Loki. He has no freaking idea about what went down with Loki. To Thor, all this looks like a tantrum. He doesn’t know what Loki is going through because all this time he was on Earth. Once again, let us thank Odin for this mess.

Loki wants to fight him. He expressly states so. 

Also, this happens:

So, Loki basically goes for the low blows.

(Attacking Thor’s sense of self as a strong warrior. Thor is strong and hardy, not SOFT!)

(Thor falters here and remains silent, giving the impression that indeed, it was that woman who changed him. And Loki latches on to it.)

And herein comes the infamous line… 

So, if one ignores context and just focuses on above stated the lines, then yes, Loki’s intent seems to be to go find Jane and assault her.

However, if one pays close attention to Loki’s face in this scene, one can see that he is falling apart and saying whatever that needs to be said to get Thor to fight him. He’s crying, he looks angry as hell. Generally speaking, he’s a mess.

He says the nastiest shit possible to get Thor’s attention, to have Thor attack him so that he can finally fight him and let out all his rage on him. Thor is the focus of his anger here because all his life he has tried to be Thor’s equal in everyone’s (especially Odin’s) eyes and failed. He now realizes that the competition with Thor was rigged from the beginning, that he was never to be loved by his parents (as Thor was) because he wasn’t their child, because he was a monster’s get.

This is Loki hitting a spiral of self-loathing and having a psychotic break. This is Loki wanting a fight because he doesn’t know how to deal with all this pain. He doesn’t know what else to do.

So he just goes ahead and provokes Thor. He uses that ugly line and he tries to make Thor believe that he will find Jane and he will hurt her in the worst ways.

Thor takes it at face value and a fight happens, just as Loki wanted. Thor is predictable in that way.

However, I do not, in any way or form, believe that Loki would have carried out his threat here. Yes, he used the cheapest of blows to provoke Thor, and that’s it. He is not interested in hurting Jane. Not even in the Avengers (2012), when he very well could have gone after Jane. He doesn’t even mention her there.

And then in Thor: The Dark World, we see Loki’s true intent towards Jane. Specifically, during the battle of Svartalfheim. 

He protects Jane. He literally shields Jane by putting his own body between her and the danger. Every time.

Loki didn’t have to do any of this. He was there to avenge his mother and to defeat the Dark Elves. Yet, he paid close attention to Jane’s safety. He was her bodyguard during this time. He did it for fraternal love, and he did it for basic human? jotun? asgardian? decency.

Loki may use the power of words to get the better of others. He may use his words as weapons to find chinks in others’ armour, to make them lose their balance, so to say (he did that with Natasha Romanoff as well). But you can damn well be sure that Loki is not evil and that he doesn’t harm others for merely shits and giggles, especially if someone doesn’t harm him first.

I myself see Loki as a person whose default mode is to protect. Frigga had (despite all of her parental imbalances) raised him to be an honourable prince, after all.

That’s my dissertation take on it. Hope that helped.

Hi! I love how you draw Loki and I was wondering if you'd be willing to maybe do a small tutorial on how to draw him? Totally understandable if you don't want to, but I dig your art, it's awesome!

Aaah first of all thank you!! ❤︎ I am not great at making step-by-step tutorials but there are some details I usually draw for Loki, I hope it’ll make sense??

I usually apply them to whatever version I draw tbh! It’s different from time to time too though, sometimes it’s more Hiddley, sometimes it’s more like the young!loki from the comics 🤔 (I need to draw old man loki sometime too…)

Special Agent Barry Allen was thrilled when he was assigned to guarding Mayor Snart of Central City. But the ‘perfect leader’ image he had of the mayor shatters soon after he starts working for the man –don’t get him wrong the mayor is intelligent, hard-working, and cares for the people with all his might– but he is, also, a complete dickhead! He keeps treating him like a servant. Barry has to constantly remind him that he is a special agent assigned to protect him god dammit, his job does not entitle getting the man breakfast!

Somehow along the way and after spending too many nights cooped up in the mayor’s library with him –because the man is a workaholic, who doesn’t seem to understand the concept of sleep, something which Barry had commented on once and felt pride swell up inside him when the mayor’s reply had been ‘I’ll sleep when my people can sleep safely’– Barry finds himself caring deeply for the man day by day, he’s still an asshole but Barry can now recognize the mask and understand the necessity of it.

When Iris’ birthday rolls up, Barry asks for the day off and Leonard grants it for him –he’d met the CCPD Captain before, and he won’t admit it to Barry, but he is terrified of her wrath, so he’s not gonna be blamed for keeping her best friend away on her birthday.

The day had been going great, Barry was enjoying the fact that he can have a drink without worrying too much about jeopardizing the job, when his phone buzzes, it’s Len and he chuckles–he should have known better than to expect for the man to let him have the entire day for himself– It takes him more than he’d like to admit to realize what he’s seeing, he blinks and blinks, breath stuck in his throat, but the video keeps playing, Len’s face staring up at him while someone is beating him to a pulp.

By the time he’d managed to show Iris the video –and he’s never been more grateful for her ability to switch into her calm Captain mode– they’re trying to trace the video and he’s jumping with nerves because he knows he needs to be out there looking for Len, he wants –needs– to do something other than sit and stare at the video over and over and over again.

30 minutes pass and they still have nothing, they’re still doing nothing and he loses it, he manages to punch Anderson and scream at everyone in the precinct before Iris drags him out demanding that he takes a walk, he starts yelling but then she hugs him and he breaks and cries and cries and cries until he’s shaking.

“I just want to find him.” He rasps, and she strokes his back whispering “I know, Barry. I know.”

Okay but Imagine...

…Instead of buying Saint and Sinners, Len buys a little hipster cafe as a front for all his rogue business. Knowing he won’t talk to any cops, Singh decides to send Barry in to collect enough evidence against Len to justify a warrant. 

Len knows this and decides to mess with him. Barry knows that Len knows this, and is increasingly frustrated by it.

Que Barry’s daily dramatic schemes as he attempts to catch Len out, which he manages to turn into looking like the biggest meet-cute. All the other regulars totally ship them and try to get them together, which Len finds hilarious.

Classic coffee-shop!AU tropes are a must, because they all manipulated by Len to annoy Barry. 

Such as: Barista has favourite coffee order pre-prepared for when their favourite customer arrives, only Barry has never been there before, ‘have you been stalking me again? Goddamit Len’

The Barista writes number on cup, gives latte with heart foam. ‘Wait that’s my number, how did you get this.’

Accidentally spills coffee and knocks them both to the floor? Nah just trying to feel for a gun, but in doing so you’ve managed to steal my phone, wallet, forensic ID and the bagel I just brought.

Omg making a new drink order that was ‘inspired by you’ the day after The Flash loses to Captain Cold. Is it called ‘The Iced Flash?’ Absolutely. 

Also: Len finally making a genuine move on Barry, but in doing so accidentally reveals something incriminating, which makes Barry torn between his duty as a undercover forensic and his despair at having to close his favourite coffee shop. Seriously, where else is going to agree to make his caffeinated-sugary disaster.
