I woke up extra early this morning to prepare my Red Carpet breakfast and set-up my laptop in the living room so that I could document the Oscars best-dressed. This event is THE fashion Olympics so preparation is key! So exciting!

Ubusan ng peplum gown!

California goddess, Cameron Diaz' style is always unexpected yet fabulous! She wore Gucci for the Red Carpet.

With a golden tan and a fit body, one can do no wrong!

Angelina Jolie's Versace gown isn't the most creative, but that thigh-high slit and pose (check out "Angelina's leg" Twitter account: @AngiesRightLeg) will certainly be remembered.

Oh, and Brad, you're perfect.

I love Emma Stone! Her gown maybe similar to Nicole Kidman's 2007 Oscar Balenciaga gown, but she rocked it better! Did you watch her presenter's bit on stage with Ben Stiller? She was hilarious!

Penelope Cruz looks like an Old Hollywood movie star in Armani Privé. It's the first time I've seen her in pin curls--very classy.

I love the gowns! I love watching the Oscars! It's truly the greatest show on Earth!

I was invited last week by Jollibee to be one of the firsts to sample their new product. I was happy to oblige as according to them, it's been around 35 years, since they've introduced their sweet-style spaghetti and this time, they have a new pasta out.

Things I Learned From Madonna

I'm in Cebu right now. Trying to relax and getting some work done too.

While looking for some serenity in my life, an earthquake rocked the Southern part of the Philippines (I'm OK. Where I'm at, I hardly felt it) and Madonna just rocked Superbowl XLVI!

I guess no matter where I am, what I'm doing, or who I'm with, excitement finds me!

I thank my guardian angel for protecting me against Mother Nature. God knows my family especially my kids still need me.

I don't know but it must be the fresh air and the peaceful surrounding that's making me emo lately — while watching Madonna's Superbowl performance, I can't help but analyze her career. Ano ba ito? Haha!

Things I learned from Madonna:

Harness your power so that you may release it with a bang! Madonna has been under the radar for quite some time. After years of being quiet and letting other artists take center stage (ahem, Lady Gaga), Madge finally came out with a series of pasabowgs: she won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song over Elton John; she just released her new album, MDNA; and to top it all, she had a phenomenal performance at the Super Bowl XLVI Half Time Show! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Lola still rocks!

The real fountain of youth. The fountain of youth lies in creativity. Continuously reinventing yourself, being creative, and moving forward in life keeps one young at heart. As Madonna would say, "Express yourself... Hey, hey!" Haha!

Fit at every age. It is not by chance nor having good genes that Madge is fit and fabulous at fifty. It is through discipline and her desire to be healthy and active that puts her on top of her game. One needs to be healthy to "run" the course of life. A sedentary life or overindulging in food or the lack of discipline can bring down one's self-esteem.

Kaya bukas na bukas, magexercise na tayong lahat!

March to your own beat. Do it your own original way and while you're at it, ilabas na rin ang banda! Hala bira! LOL

Madonna once told Britney Spears to "be true to yourself", kaya lang di nakinig si bagets kaya ang ending, nagpakalbo si Brit-Brit! Haha!

Love your family, friends, and "fans". They are your best cheerleaders! They will be there for you during rough times and in your victories. They will love you unconditionally. Focus on people's love, ditch the haters! Don't even recognize them.

I woke up today with Gwyneth Paltrow's body on my mind. At 38, the actress/author/modern lifestyle guru puts Hollywood starlets bodies to shame!

I want her body! According to Gwyneth, she "kills" herself working out 5 times a week, 1.5 hours. OMG. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that kind of commitment! Where do I even find the time? Haha!

Yellow is a happy color, but if you don't want to wear a bright-hued dress or maxi, try a yellow blazer with brocade pants and an all the way buttoned-up shirt. I love this look on Kirstin Dunst!

Take cue from Philip Lim's layering of sorbet colors. The key is to wear tissue-like fabrics in desaturated colors.

Tip: Use neutral-colored accessories like black or white clutch and nude-colored shoes.

My Temporary Blog

I guess I finally have to address all the queries about this temporary blog. Here goes... to those who are following me on Twitter, you would know that my website, www.JenniEpperson.com is currently under construction.

As early as December last year, specifically, after my blog won the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards for Best Lifestyle Blog in Malaysia, I tweeted that my site will be undergoing some changes.

My team: graphic designer, Mia de Lara of Mobudays and web strategist, Dart Tiglao have been masterfully working on a new look and a more user-friendly site. Our motto: "Less headache, more fun!"

I have a lot of requirements for my team to meet. That being said, the construction of my website will take time.

I could actually blog on my website as my team could work on a temporary site, but I want a new style of blogging. If I keep on uploading new posts on my site, the style will not go anymore with the new look. Yes, I'm O.C. like that.

Blogging is already part of my life and not being able to share tips, information, and documenting parts of my life is not possible anymore. Actually, the main reason why I started blogging is because I had so many ideas that I wanted them to share them with all of you! The moment I opened my first blog, six years ago, I was hooked! So while my site is being fixed, this Tumblr account will be my temporary blog.

Pool Party

Sunday is sacred to me as it's family day. You would be hard pressed to drag me out of the house unless I have a shoot or if there's a poolside BBQ party! I mean, how many pool party invitations does one get these days anyway?

So, when businessman/chef/food blogger/writer, Erwan Heussaff invited me to his birthday party I didn't think twice. I know from his awesome blog, www.thefatkidinside.com that he's an amazing chef and that the food was going to be MAJOR! I love his philosophy on food and he reminds me a lot on how my husband prepares a meal — very "manly man". As in, ang kalat lang nila! Haha! But despite their brutish demeanor in cooking, they make kick-ass dishes!

I got to know Erwan during our trip to Malaysia for the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog awards (both our blogs were nominated). We talked about food, blogging, traveling, and of course we both gushed on how wonderful and fabulous Anne Curtis Smith is. He is such a sweet boyfriend to Annie! Love this couple!

Happy birthday Erwan! May all your dreams come true!

My favorite was the brick oven-roasted pork with leeks, oyster sauce, sriracha in steam buns! I think Belle and I ate 3... 4... or was it more? Haha! YUM!!!

Possession obsession: Brick oven

One of these days I will have a tunnel brick oven in our backyard. For now, this freestanding brick oven and griller I spotted at Maison Heussaff is what I'm obsessing about!

Dear Erwan, please ask your mom for the name and number of the supplier. I want one! Thanks!

You can use charcoal or wood to heat-up the brick oven. Cooking in a brick oven gives your food a smoky flavor. Imagine all the pizzas, meats, bread, etc. the Eppersons will be cooking if we had this! @.@

Very, Very Light

It must be fashion's pastel trend that I'm now obsessing over soft-hued nail polish.

I'm not one to wear light-colored outfits but I'm now loving pastel-colored "Cutex" (Binisaya accent please. [Etymology: Brand: Cutex ])!

This is what I'm wearing now. The color "spoke" to me while having my mani/pedi at Henri Calayag's Salon.

At first, I thought it was way too girly for me but Aryanna said, "Mom, that color softens your look!" Pak! Very, very light lang ang peg.

Orly French Manicure in "Rose-Colored Glasses"

Aryanna and I have been buying this color ever since. We love the baby pink hue and lakas makagirrrl!

Compared to other nail polishes, Orly lasts the longest without chipping, plus it's affordable too.

Bar Hopping

Life for me is all about balance — balancing family, fashion, and friends that is.

I'm glad I went out last night with my friends. It was nice to catch up with everyone, especially Robby. Todo lang kami sa words of wisdom, the "Law of Attraction", and my word of the year: "Achieve"! Alamonayon! I had a blast!

I'd like to thank the fun crew: Tim Yap, Marc Gueco, Trish Panlilio, Rixbu, Charina Sarte and Robby Carmona for a fun and fab night. You guys are the best!

Because limited edition na lang ang appearance ko, the goal was ubusan ng bar last night! Haha!

First stop was Buddha Bar. From Paris to Pinas, this world-famous restaurant/bar finally has a branch in Manila.

  I love the ambiance and the luxurious interior of Buddah Bar. The menu is based on Pacific Rim cooking — a style which mixes East and West culinary methods. They serve French, Thai, Filipino, Japanese, Chinese, and more.

Love, love, love this place! I'm going back next week!

Valet parking is also available. Yay!

Next stop was Skye Lounge. A rooftop bar with AstroTurf flooring, stylish couches and tables and the biggest ceiling fan you'll ever see!

This is the season to visit this place as the weather has been cool lately. I suggest that you take advantage of the view and go at dawn for an apéritif and tapas.

Although, I think I'll only go back to this place if my friend Pauline Juan goes with me and secures a table for us. Last night was super packed and I spent half an hour trying to get a drink while standing up in six-inch heels! Aray.

After I developed arthritis at Skye (choz!), it was time to go to Privé Club or as my friends and I call it "JM's bar". Haha!
