We Should Evolve & Update W/ Our Applications

Social media isn't being utilized correctly. Recently it is being utilized to troll and hurt other users. Cyberbullying is everywhere. People are hiding behind their screens attack people with out without a reason. People can’t even protest or openly express themselves anymore without fear of responses. 

Originally social media platforms were created to give people a voice to convey their beliefs, meet people all over the world, connect with extended family and loved ones, or to just escape from everyday life. It is important that we let others do this in peace. When someone wants opinions or comments they’ll ask or even if you have to comment on someone’s post negatively message them privately. 

Furthermore, it is important that we educate our young, so that may be socially intelligent on these platforms. Within their posts, they should understand the lengths that it can reach and who all could read it. 

As social media evolves, so should we.

The Internet can be used as a place to have a greater positive impact on the world, There’s a ton of positive initiatives online. The web should be used to inspire others, not spread hate or to hurt others.

This video conveys the history of the #BlackLivesMatter movement, thanks to NBC News. It BLM hasn’t been around too long, yet its history is rich and often misunderstood. BLM was born on social media and wouldn’t be strong without it. It is important that we understand the true purpose of BLM. Watch this video, and let me know if you think NBC News was accurate and factual with this video.

Lack of social intelligence is trending on TikTok. These highschoolers claim that they didn’t know that what they were doing was wrong or would hurt people’s feeling. We, as a society need to be more socially aware of not only our actions. But our posts and comments. This discussion needs to happen. What do you think? Check it out!

It took a lot for Normani to talk about how she was cyberbullied by her own fans when she was a member of Fifth Harmony. This is relevant to our module this week, exceptionally. People were buying the groups merch and defacing only her. I’m glad that Normani left the group and is now solo and doing better than ever. I’m also very happy that she didn’t let the bullies get her down.
