You gave me so many options with this word, haha! This is from one of the chapters I wrote for In Plain Sight, my ongoing collab with @jaynesilver:

A dark figure looms over him. Ben winces, too weak to defend himself from more of Vader’s attacks. But as his vision swims back into focus, he realizes that there is no long black cape, only a long black coat, and the unmasked red-haired man glaring down at him is definitely not Darth Vader. “Hux?” Ben croaks, staring up at him with furrowed brows. Hux is in full military uniform, though this one is black and not his teal Major’s uniform. The impatient scowl is perfectly familiar, though. “Hux, you can’t be here. He’ll kill you! You have to go–” Ben howls. The pain in his side explodes, sparking bright points of light behind his eyelids. Hux pulls his boot back from Ben’s side and stomps it on the ground like he’s extinguishing a cigarette. A red smudge of Ben’s blood stains the snow beneath his boot. “Hux!” Ben shouts. “What the fuck?” “Get up, Ren.” He prods Ben’s side with the toe of his boot, this time mercifully off of the wound, though Ben suspects that has more to do with Hux’s aversion to bloodying his boots than any consideration for Ben’s pain.
