Inspiration for their design would be 1. that cliché of a duo tall lean/short fat comic relief and 2. in the case of Froggy (pale dude), that other trope of the big fat butch woman who looks a little menacing/insane and is also played for laugh (expect here he's a trans man and he gets to be the main character)

designs are almost certain to change but I'm throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks!

don't ask me the thought process behind this because I sketched this almost exactly 4 years ago and I legit don't know why I did.

Also Articuno is technically not that big but I take pokemon sizes as guidelines more than firm rules.

He immediately winced at the stupidity of saying something like that to such a god, but it was too late. “He would not stay at your side in the face of death,” the Magpie King claimed, his voice getting colder. “Why should you treat him better than he would treat you?” That was nothing that Actalus hadn’t already told himself countless times over the course of that day. Somehow, hearing it from another mouth was intolerable. “He is not like that!” he exclaimed, turning to face the god.

(I've drawn parts of that scene before I think but what can I say, it's a big moment for Medka and Actalus)(also, I first tried to do this in a painted style and it Was Not Working Out)

I'm going to take a short break from posting so I can rebuild my buffer, but the third and final act is already all planned out. I'm hoping to resume posting in January if all goes well, February at the very worst (everything is mostly planned out unless someone make a very funny comment that inspires me, and I've started sketching future episodes, it's really just a matter of getting things done)

Anyway, happy christmas if that's your thing, happy mandatory day off you didn't ask for but are getting anyway otherwise!

sorry for the different inking style on the dragons. As it turned out, using that brush made it easier to draw them so I just... used the easier brush.
