When recovering from abuse, it's vital to turn around the narrative from "what's wrong with me, why am I not good enough, what did I do to deserve abuse" to "what's wrong with THEM, why do they think it's okay to abuse other people"

I want you to remember:
The fascists hate you too and they just will pretend otherwise until after they've killed the rest of us, before they turn on you.

99.99% of rap haters have never even listened to rap. or if they have it's like one gangsta rap song & they treat the genre as a monolith and act like it's representative of every rap song ever. and well of course they are also just racist

Did I read that correctly…
PBS was the only news outlet that dared to call it what it is, namely a nazi salute and today PBS got defunded??

Extremely niche question for the Friends at the Table crew—I'm trying to track down something that was once said on the pod, and I can't find it in the transcripts. (It may have been from a clapcast or other patreon feed?)
I'm pretty sure it was either Ali or Janine, and they were talking about the Greek Aulos/double flute, and mentioned something about drone music and how in some cultures the constant drone was associated with keeping the world turning (or something to that effect???).
Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

sometimes i forgot furries aren't mainstream and a lot of people don't like them so i'll be talking 2 new people about something like furry-adjacent and someone will make a joke like "lmao so you're a furry" expecting a dramatic reaction but i'll say "i mean yeah sure" and people will be shocked and ask "seriously??? you mean like with an outfit and everything?" and i say no so they're like "so you draw furry stuff?" and i say no so they say "so you're just really into furry art?" and i'm like "well not really, just incidentally" and then they're like "okay actually you don't sound like a furry" and i'm like "hm......no i definitely am." by this point they've figured out i'm autistic and we go from there

A local trans org I want to highlight is one that’s been in my life since long before I knew I was trans myself. They’ve been a pillar in our community for decades and I’ve seen for multiple generations now just how impactful they can be for trans youth.
I’m linking here their website.
