—THE PAST

Dark, dingy, dirty – these were the words she heard most often when people referred to her hometown. The houses were run-down and the families were poor. ‘Welcome to Paradise’ the sign read but what a lie that was. Growing up, she was seen as the hope for their poor community – a straight A student with a dance ability to match her superior intelligence. That was until she fell into the wrong crowd. She started getting into fights, her strategizing superior to many of her opponents. There weren’t many people who weren’t afraid of the five foot two young woman from the wrong side of the tracks. One fateful day, just when she thought she was going to be thrown into jail because she had picked a fight with a spoiled brat of a man, she was instead offered a job by his father.

And that was when her life changed for the better.

She became a bouncer at one of the hottest clubs where she met many people and gained a reputation for being one of the best in the business. There weren’t many people who could get past her. As word of her skills got around, she eventually became one of the most in demand event bouncers on the clubbing scene.  She bounced around from club to club and even managed to find love in the process. But when that relationship ended badly, she was ready to start over.  She packed up her things and left without a word, leaving no trace of herself behind aside from the stories and her reputation.

—THE PRESENT

After leaving her hometown, Boa had thought she was going to settle down with the love of her life. Because of the nature of his occupation, he was killed and Boa was once again on her own. With her fiance’s dog Max, she decided to leave once again but this time, she was going to protect others like her and hope that their lives would be better than hers had been.

—THE ABILITY

Supernatural Strength: Users are glaringly, obviously and super/unnaturally stronger than their race because their capabilities are pushed beyond the natural level; making them immensely stronger than normal members of their species (in that ‘verse) can be achieved by any method of training.

—THE PAST Jungkook had been a happy child growing up, a loving family to take care of him, a younger sister to watch out for and protect. Not to mention that his family was very well off in money. Both parents worked as lawyers, both well known for their success in solving cases as a team. But when Jungkook was 6 years old, his father began to slack off and started to even get into drugs and alcohol. Like most would think, he never abused their mother or either one of them, but only because he spent less time at home usually. This went on for two years..until Jungkook’s father overdosed on the drugs by taking them with alcohol, it left their mother devestated but she didn’t let it keep her from working and taking care of her children.

Rien n'est eternel ( nothing last forever). That was the saying Jungkook favored over the next while.

A few months after the funeral, they were all at home, Jungkook and his sister getting ready for bed while their mother made sure of it and tucked them into bed. Little to any of their knowledge, the drugs his father had gotten ahold of, he’d put himself in debt to a mafia. A debt that the leader with a few others came to collect that very night. Jungkook’s mother made him and his sister hide in the cabinets, but while he covered her eyes, he could see everything through a crack in the cabinet doors. He saw the death of their mother, watched as the blood ran out of her lifeless body from the bullet wound to her head. As for them, the house had been searched and they found the children, both of which were taken from their home and they were separated. He knows nothing of where his sister went but the leader kept the boy as some toy to use whenever he wanted.

—THE PRESENT Today, Jungkook lives the same house he lived in when the mafia had kidnapped him from but without all the mess of course. His mother had been long buried and the blood cleaned up from incident. It had been left in his parent’s will that the house would go to him and his sister but as much as he tried, he couldn’t find her.

His personality; though he is grown up, he doesn’t always act it since from the time he was six due his father’s habits, he had to ‘grow up’ in a sense to take care of his sister. He never had a true childhood so he has childish moments but he tries to control it. Other than that, Jungkook is more of the silent type that will tend to keep to himself, more focused on his studies in the univerisity he managed to get into that he found would help him with the ability he has.

—THE ABILITY Discovered when he was 15 years of age, he didn’t know of it before. and the only real reason he did find out about it, was because he had gotten tired of the mafia leader that held him captive, his anger lashing out where he burned the man alive along with the entire building. He also has an immunity to fire, cannot be burned by it and that is how he made it out alive.

[!] Looking For Another Admin

As mentioned before in this post, I will be looking for another admin to help out at the KRP Database. This blog takes a lot of love and care, and it is difficult to keep it going alone. I will be ideally searching for two people. Below are some requirements that you must have in order to an admin here. Please be honest about your abilities so that the most qualified individual can be chosen. 

Familiar with Tumblr (control over editing posts, themes, xkit) and have basic coding knowledge (how to edit html)

Use a desktop or a laptop; admining from mobile or from a tablet would be next to impossible

Have at least one (1) hour per day that you can dedicate to this blog (however, once chosen, we can talk about a schedule when who does what)

Be able to work well with others (fellow KRP Database admins, admins of roleplays, and roleplayers seeking our help)

Maintain polite responses even when others are not that nice; have a high maturity level and be able to remain calm

Be serious about being an admin and will not disappear without a word

Have a Kakao account and are willing to exchange information with other KRP Database admins. This is so we can easily communicate with one another

—THE PAST

Born in Gyeonggi-do to a young unwed mother, Seulgi moved to New York when she was very young in order for her mother to escape the judgement and pressure from her family, peers, and co-workers. Although it was great at first, the move gradually became more and more difficult as money became tighter and tighter. As soon as she was old enough, Seulgi learned the art of street scamming and would often help her mother in tricking others in order to make money. For a long time they were successful and once she got older, she was able to go off on her own and run similar scams without the help of her mother. As she became older, her interest in the occult and witchcraft increased too. She would constantly read and study whatever material she could get her hands on. This eventually led to her gaining an interest in Tarot and divination using the cards. Once she had become confident in her ability to use the cards, she adjusted her strategy and became a tarot card reader in order to make money. Eventually, her interests and skills came to include the stars above and she was creating a reputation for herself as being one of the best in the business. This caught the interest of many drag performers in the area and became a transitional phase for both her and her mother, one that would benefit them greatly.

—THE PRESENT

Strange and quirky; Seulgi appears to be beautiful and perhaps a little standoffish but once people get to know her, they discover how delightfully strange she truly is.

—THE ABILITY

Magic: User has access to Magic, the use of rituals, symbols, actions, gestures and language to exploit supernatural forces to varying degrees, with only their skill, personal power-level, imagination/knowledge, and/or morality to define the borders. Given the flexibility of magic, its users have essentially unlimited possibilities for what to do.

—THE PAST

Youjin was the first born to a loving family of six, with three younger brothers and two wonderful parents. Their life had always been normal. Middle class, mom and dad had average jobs. Nothing of note happened to Youjin during his early youth. He studied well, listened to his parents and took care of his younger brothers.

That was until he was in his mid teens. Youjin hadn’t ever been a touchy person - he didn’t hate affection but he certainly didn’t go out of his way to look for it. His little brothers were the only people he ever had been open about it with - especially the youngest. All Youjin did was return a hug, his shirt happened to be loose around the neck and his little brother tried to put his face against his neck. It didn’t take long for Youjin to notice something was wrong. His brother had gone rigid, quickly going cold to the touch. He couldn’t figure out what was going on. Neither did any of the doctors but thankfully they said he would recover. It took several more incidents until it was realized the only common factor was Youjin.

Could it be intentional? No, our Youjinnie would never do that.

Youjin didn’t know what was wrong with him. He didn’t know why these things always happened. No, one suggested the word mutant to him - that it was some kind of ability he had. If he didn’t touch no one got hurt. That was easy enough to understand. So Youjin learnt to avoid. To distance himself. Don’t let them touch. It wasn’t that hard seeing as the only people who ever showed him physical affection (his family) now seemed afraid of him.

It took several years until he caught wind of Jaeneung. Maybe that place could help him? It turned out they could.

There had always been talks about other mutants, but Youjin had never expected to be one of them. As far as he could tell he was the only one with his family with such an affliction. Because that’s what it was wasn’t it? An affliction. He could imagine abilities that could be a blessing but practically killing people just through touch? That definitely wasn’t a blessing.

Now, a student at Jaeneung all Youjin wants to do is learn how to control his ability. Possibly even shut it off indefinitely - to him there was nothing to embrace about it.

—THE PRESENT

Youjin tends to keep to himself. He never goes out of his way to form friendships with others so in a way one could say he is shy or simply just an introvert. Loud places, parties, functions that involve small talk and strangers should be the last place you’d look when trying to find Youjin. Fairly, placid in personality Youjin never goes out of his way for excitement. Despite being more go with the flow than others he still is a creature of habit, keeping to the routines and things he knows. While not overly affectionate Youjin often becomes paternal towards people he cares about whether he means too or not.

—THE ABILITY

Youjin’s power is negative touch, though he considers it more of a curse. If Youjin ever touches something (skin to skin contact) he begins to drain their life force. The longer the touch the more energy he takes from the person, if contact is maintained long enough it can cause severe damage and even death. If the person he is in contact with is a fellow mutant not only does he drain their life force but also whatever ability they have. Though the transfer is not permanent nor as strong as the original holder’s ability.
