Adolins first chapter is so funny and for those who don’t recall I’ll summarize it for you now:

Adolin, thinking to himself: man, I hate Sadeas so much. I’m gonna cause a scene. No no I can’t my dad likes him, but if he slips up even a little I’m gonna cause a scene

Renarin: Are you thinking about how you’re gonna cause a scene bc you hate Sadeas so much

Adolin: no!!!

Adolin: i wish the murder would return to my fathers eyes… I hate Sadeas so much I’m gonna cause a scene

Listen. I know there are some wonderful theories about how Adolin Kholin is going to be a villain, or how he won’t be able to bond with Maya, but listen, Listen. He would make such a good freaking edge dancer.

“I will remember those who have been forgotten.”

“I will listen to those who have been ignored.”

My theory? This man won’t even need to speak the ideals to form his bond because he is out there living them. Every. Single. Day.

He visits his fathers Ryshadium on the regular, why? Because Dalinar is too busy to go ride him.

He never forces that beautiful, intelligent creature to bear him, he is so gentle and loving and goes just to groom him and be near him. When Gallant does let him ride, he treats him with the respect he deserves, and Gallant repays him at every turn, even allowing Maya to ride frequently.

He speaks to everyone, and listens, and learns about their lives. His troops love him, even Kaladin is forced to admit that Adolin is simply a good man because he listens. Always, his mind churns with questions and concerns, with brilliant dueling strategies, but he never rejects people who need him to hear. The one significant moment that he trips on this, he backtracks and apologizes and supports Dalinar despite not believing him.

He listened to his sword. He listened to what he believed was a dead object and spoke to her with such love and tenderness over years of never knowing that she was a living being that eventually even through the pain of his touch she grew to tolerate and even like him.

No. Maya doesn’t need him to speak the oathes, she has heard such oathes before. Their bond will be one forged in the purest trust, the deepest love, and the kindest hearts. It won’t be a Nahel bond, it will be its own, and it will reshape Roshar.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of traveling to Numazu, Shizuoka. When I arrived, an Itasha Festival was happening. The town had been slowly fading for several years until the anime, Love Live Sunshine, took Japan by storm.

The anime is based on a fictional school located in the town, and the town embraced that image completely. They have stamp rallies, where you can go to various shops throughout the town and collect decorative stamps of your favorite characters. I estimate about 100 shops in the town participate. The Love Live Sunshine idol group, Aquors, also appears in advertising, on the sides of buses, and in various events. This year, the town celebrates its 100th anniversary, and Aquors is there to support.

and it turns out that yes, Doom CAN run HoL. it can run HoL phenomenally.

I’m so glad that myhouse.wad has led to a sudden rise in interest about House of Leaves, everyone needs to read my favorite experimental book that has taken over my life.

I also know that people are mainly getting into the book mainly because they know the book features ever-changing architectural horror, so I can’t wait for when they come across the first instance of Johnny Truant describing how he had sex with a girl in detail. the first of many derailments

Had the opportunity to see the history of Persona exhibit when it came to Tokorozawa. I discovered that there was a stage show (was able to see the final), and learned about the history of the series and its various characters.

Wife and I made Leblanc Curry a while back. Recipe based on the recipe sent to reviewers as part of a promotional package ahead of Persona 5 Scramble.

Took a long time to cook, but it was worth it. Can’t wait to make it again!
