[DL] Musical StarMyu 2nd Season - English Subs
Tumblr media
StarMyu has a special place in my heart so I didn’t think twice about making subs for this XD The 2nd Season musical is so great!! The songs, the cast, , the acting, the story, everything~!
For those who aren’t familiar, the 2nd Season musical isn’t actually about the 2nd season of the anime. The musical follows the story of the 1st and 2nd OVA that was released. (The graduation ceremony one) ^^
※ This is English subtitles only!! If you want the video, I recommend buying the DVD from here or here. Blu-ray can be ordered from here.
Also, this is for the DVD version so, there might be resolution/size/timing differences if the subs are played with the Blu-ray version ^^
Rules and links under the cut, enjoy!

From today’s live streaming for “Touken Ranbu The Movie“ cast greating.
Their tuxedo matched the color of their character. :)) They were having so much fun (especially Wada Masanari) that it’s impossible not to love them.
Looking forward (again) for this movie.

Japanese Theatre Terminology
I thought I’d make this reference post for myself and for everybody who, reading the translations on this blog, may have run across these technical theatre terms and wish to better understand their full meaning.
From now on, I’ll refer to each of these terms in Japanese for the sake of brevity.
※ Please note this isn’t supposed to be an extensive guide of all the steps leading up to a stage performance, but only a summary of the main stages, as explained by Tamaki Yūki in his posts and on this detailed text.
Needless to say, if you run across any mistakes or misinterpretations, please point those out to me! Thank you very much!!
顔合わせ = kao-awase - All the people involved in the play meet up for the first time. It’s also the opportunity  for the Cast to get to know each other and to read through the script for the first time.
稽古 = kēko - It simply means “rehearsal”. It’s actually an umbrella term, as there are many different types of kēko. These are:
読み合わせ = yomi-awase - It’s a formal reading of the script, more casually referred to as 本読み (hon-yomi). The Cast and the producers sit around a table and the actors simply run their lines. No props nor sets involved at this stage.
立ち稽古 = tachi-gēko - A “stand-up rehearsal”. It’s the first rehearsal where the actors run their lines standing up and perform each scene. At this stage, they don’t perform the play from start to finish, but instead they go over each scene/act separately many times. It’s a very important stage, where the actor will receive all the necessary corrections from the Director.
通し稽古 = tōshi-gēko - Once every scene has been properly rehearsed, the Cast performs the entire play without interruptions. This stage is divided into three parts:
粗通し稽古 = ara-tōshi-gēko - At the beginning of a tōshigēko it is alright if the actor forgets his lines or improvises.
スッタフ見せ通し稽古 = staff-mise-tōshi-gēko -  Similar to an ara-tōshi-gēko. It takes place in front of the entire Production and the whole Crew in order for them to understand the full structure of the play.
衣装付き通し = ishō-tsuki-tōshi - After the fitting, the actors finally perform wearing their costumes.
小屋入り = koya-iri - All rehearsals on set are over and it’s time to step into the actual theatre for the first time.
仕込み = shi-komi - On the appointed day of koyairi, the staff prepares the dressing rooms and the technical staff sets up the stage and all the props to allow the Cast to perform.
場当たり = ba-atari - It is the first rehearsal where the actors, in full makeup & costume, get to familiarise with all the props and the stage. It is time for them to finalise positioning with the Director, as they go over their scenes. It’s not a full rehearsal, instead it focuses on a few specific scenes/acts of the play. It is also the chance for the technical staff to run sound & lighting checks while the Cast is on stage.
テクニカルリハーサル = technical rehearsal - The technical staff is involved in this. The Cast doesn’t take part in this type of rehearsal.
ゲネプロ = genepro - It’s short for the German “Generalprobe”, i.e. “General Rehearsal”. It’s the very last full rehearsal and it looks exactly the way the audience will experience it. It is generally at this stage that the Media and the Press are invited in to interview the Cast and to take pictures (囲み取材 - kakomi-shuzai), and sometimes to film part of the performance in order to promote the show. For the record, a genepro can be omitted; if so, that is if the Production decides to go from baatari straight to the performance,  the process is called 乗り打ち (noriuchi).
稽古打ち = kēko-uchi - It’s a nomikai a.k.a. a drinking party where the entire Cast meet up to pump each other up for the show - generally, they all drink much less than after the end of the run (lol)!
本番 = honban - The play is finally performed in front of an audience.
打ち上げ = uchi-age -  When the last show is over (千穐楽 - senshūraku), it’s time to celebrate! Truth be told, it’s just another nomikai.

Makai Ouji Devils and Realist: The Second Spirit - DVD & Subs
Tumblr media
Hi everyone! I am back again with some quality Mashu content! When they announced a second Makai Ouji musical last year, @pendragonemrys and I knew instantly that we had to sub it! It took quite some time, but we have finally finished! You can find the link below, but first I have some requests:
1. Screenshots with or without the subs are okay! However, if you’re using the content in the subs for some sort of project or posting lyrics elsewhere, please give credit to me and @pendragonemrys. We worked really hard on the translation, so I’d really appreciate it!
2. If someone asks for the link, please direct them to this post. Please don’t post the link elsewhere. At a fan event, Mashu and his manager talked about how upset they were when someone uploaded the first musical to YouTube.
3. If the quality of anything is so poor that you can’t watch it or listen to it, let me know! I won’t be posting higher quality videos unless it’s really necessary. If you want better quality, I’d highly recommend buying the DVD/CD. We have yet to hear if they’re doing another stage, so please show your support! If you need help purchasing something (bromides/pamphlet included), I’d be happy to help.
4. If something with the translation seems off or you find anything strange in the subs, please let me know! I want to provide the best subs for the fans, so I’m happy to change things! Also if the Japanese lyrics on top are really bothering you let me know and I’ll try to make a version of the subs without it. I just thought you’d might want to sing along XD
So, last I’d like to thank the people who helped me accomplish this! Of course I have to thank my partner in crime, @pendragonemrys. She handled the formatting and timing and she helped me out with translations when I didn’t know how to express something.
So, here’s the link to the folder of goodies! Enjoy it!

[Kanji/Romaji/English Lyrics] Musical Caribbean Groove - Oceanality
Tumblr media
Here’s the last one of the solo songs~! With that, I’m done with song translations for Musical Caribbean Groove ^^
This song is Chris’s (Tatsumi) solo song and is supposed to be taken into consideration as being partnered with Albert’s (Eigo) “Shinjitsu no Yukue ~To tell the truth~” I love this one as he talks of wanting to protect Albert and how he regrets not realizing the pain that Albert’s been in during the entire time that they’ve spent together out on sea even though their relationship is closer than he thought it originally was.
This song is actually Hoshimoto Yuzuki’s (Ugawa’s actor) favorite song~! www
※ Please don’t re-post the kanji/romaji and English translations without permission. Instead of reposting, please just like/reblog instead ^^
Full lyrics under the cut, enjoy~!

Reasons to love Team Hiiragi cast #1: Sakurai Keito shouting “EIGO!!” from the top of his lungs.
This is a clip from the Musical Caribbean Groove DVD Tokuten where the cast do a bowling tournament. For the second round of games, they had to do a “mission” before actually throwing the ball. This was one of Sakurai’s missions XD
Translation:
Sakurai (Tatsumi): “While throwing the ball, shout the name of the StarMyu character you’d want as your boyfriend if you were a girl.”
Seiji (Inumine): I see.
Yuzuki (Ugawa): Character you’d want for a boyfriend?
Sakurai: EIGO!!!
Sakurai: YEAH!!
※ Video taken from my own DVD so please don’t re-post! ※ For those who have the DVD, the tokuten is already translated so please do look forward to the finished subs~! IDK if the BD has the same tokuten so this is only for the DVD version ^^

Where are you?” Tsukasa: “Please give me dance lessons!” Arashi: “Is that possible even when you’re super nervous?” Ritsu: “Normally, I don’t think so.” Arashi: “Tsukasa-chan’s so unique, huh.”

I don’t really translate much of the EnSute cast’s tweets but this one absolutely killed me so, here we go~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay! A little context for this tweet.
In the higawari reel of “To the Shining Future”, there’s a skit where Arashi is teaching Tsukasa some dance steps. Tsukasa dances so stiffly that his knees don’t even bend and Tsukasa scolds his knee by going, “I’m so sorry, I got so nervous that my knee won’t even bend. This knee!!” and Ritsu and Arashi then proceed to call him “knee boy” as they repeated the skits since Kitagawa Naoya (Tsukasa’s actor) had so many variations for that joke XD
I’ll try to see if I can upload a video of it, too!
“It’s the Yokohama closing day performances but my knee can’t help but go wild so, I’m so sorry about that. good knee boy!!  Sena-senpai’s ad-lib tutorials were difficult though… (lol)”
Source: @nattu515
Other cast members had replied to him about his “knee boy”  as well XD
Aramaki (Ritsu) and Kitagawa’s interaction: (Source)
Mackey: “Good luck, knee boy”
Naoya: “Ritsu-senpai! thank you knee boy!!”
Takasaki (Sena) and Kitagawa’s interaction: (Source)
Shota: “Well, it turned out well, didn’t it ♪”
Naoya: “knee boy Master! Thank you very much (^^)”
Higuchi (Kanzaki) and Kitagawa’s interaction: (Source)
Higuchi: “Wait a second. I laughed so hard.”
Naoya: “You’re the senpai who tried to cut my knee boy! (lol)”
Higuchi: “You call that a knee!!!”
