What an update

I don't feel like talking much, but Fire Spirit is so cool actually and Agar Agar is obviously amazing

You mentioned before that rising charcoal!shadow milk's body is like. A robot i think?? Dont remeber exactly, but is he the only one with that kind of body(hes special like that✨️) or do any of the other beasts have non-cookie bodies too??

Shadow Milk's body is an animatronic- I have just not brought it up that consistently because I haven't talked about him much yet. (He's connected to Crowkie, which is really important, I get to it once I'm done chasing butterflies I swear-)

Arguments can be made that some of the beasts' bodies aren't TRULY cookie due to what they're made of/their method of creation, but the other beasts have bodies that generally fit into the box of being a cookie based on how their bodies function. Even if their bodies are rather unique compared the most cookies.

So yeah, Shadow Milk is special like that.

(he's also the weakest of the beasts and main characters now, but the reason he can't use magic is not because of being in a robot)

Tried digital art again (Rising Charcoal woah)

The only context you get is

1. This was during Elder Faerie's 17 year disappearence (did I mention that Beast-Yeast Chapter 1/2 took place 21 years ago in this AU? I don't think I did-)

2. Anything with Midnight interacting with Elder Faerie during his absence takes place in dreams, so this scene isn't actually a hint to where he was

Their "friendship" is basically Midnight trying to cheer him up for 17 years straight. She has some kind of motivation behind it, and with her corruption, he is lead to believe it wasn't a good one. Who knows though (I mean, Midnight does)

This isn't all that good, but I thought I'd show it as my first attempt in awhile

Also reminder that the dragons are non-binary. Pitaya, Ananas, and Lychee use they/it. Lotus and Longan use they/them. They have no canon assignment, so I headcanon that the dragons don't fit into the afab or amab boxes. So although Lychee is stereotypically fem (atleast in my eyes), they aren't afab here, nor amab. They just are. I dunno, how I designed the crop top made me feel like I should point that out.

Anyway, I would typically rant here, but I got a PKMN OC idea I gotta go draw. Lore will be in a post of them and "Sharp" (temporary name for Raven's Maw's leader, as their real identity is secret) and/or a post dedicated to the dragons.

Lychee brainrot and delusional-ness hit me in the face.

Lychee is the one who taught Sharp how to use a battleaxe btw, and it built their relationship in a very fun way, I don't make the rules, I just work here.

Rising Charcoal AU pedestal wow it's not all I post about (after getting some canon out of my system)

Lychee is the dragon I had the least ideas for in Rising Charcoal, yet in the span between my last post mentioning me having an idea for their deisgn and now, I absolutely popped off with what I thought were heavily AU ideas

But the best part is that a lot of powers I wanted to give them actually line up with canon (based on the wiki, I don't play Ovenbreak so that's where I'm doing my research)

Without going spoilery, their role in Rising Charcoal would be one where they use life powder and soul related magic. They collect life force and seem to collect souls in some sense, so I call what I was going to make them do pretty believable as stuff they already could do or learned to do

I love it when things just line up and I'm not as delusional as I thought (I still absolutely am, this will only make me more delusional overall)

I also accidentally made the fucking funniest character duo between them and the leader of Raven's Maw (will get into what Raven's Maw is when I talk about Crowkie). They are opposites behind the scenes (RM's leader tries to act like some confident mastermind when they are seen). Gotta make a "masked villain" deisgn for them so I can draw the two without spoilers. Like, "step aside, Silent Salt and Elder Faerie" levels of loving this duo. I have written several snippets about SS and EF, and am about to write a couple of Lychee and Raven's Maw's leader too.

(overexaggerating, Silent Salt and Elder Faerie are the best, I never stop thinking about them, this duo is currently in second though)

(btw the little "masked villain" thing isn't confirmation that Raven's Maw is an evil organization. I'm not saying it isn't evil, I'm just saying it might also be good? In universe, most people think Raven's Maw is evil, but that isn't confirmed to be true just agreed? Again, I'll talk about it later because it is connected to Crowkie)

Silent Salt's yellow highlight in the eye was improv but I love it

Eternal Sugar beginning arc YIPPEE

I have a friendlocke to get to, so I'm writing this while waiting to get my mon lol-

(update, got chosen as starter so I immediately had to stop, its been 4 hours since I began writing LMAO)

ANYWAY

Raspberry is the "leader", though its not offical or anything. Snapdragon kinda began following her around after... "Shit happened", and Tiger Lily began working with the two more and more often, and now just follows Raspberry most places.

Snapdragon runs off though, a bit of a mistake. The dragon hunters are mostly focused on the dragons known to have made a deal with DE, but they definitely don't like Snapdragon being around. Especially since they aren't a big fan of Raspberry's group.

Rich Honey (Leader of the Dragon Hunters... I don't think there's a canon character that fits the role well enough so one OC has been permitted) knows for a fact Raspberry, Tiger Lily, and anyone else in her group would make good fighters. Yet they insist on finding a way to break the spells between the dragons and DE. It just puts everyone at more risk in their opinions, so although the groups aren't outright enemies (that would be a waste of resources), they scrap sometimes and overall don't get along. Frenemies in many cases.

And now that Eternal Sugar is here, the dragon hunters have gained some interest in the souljam shards he can track down way easier than they ever could.

(extra interest- Rich Honey and other characters that aren't the Beasts might have souljam shards)

Didn't draw Rich Honey here, but I did way back when I considered making the dragon hunter leader an OC. Gonna revamp them because I think that was when the new "style" for Rising Charcoal was still developing

(Tiger Lily's design was done without reference here, so there's more elements of her original design to add (need that flower))

(also Raspberry's hair covered eye is fine, she can see (well enough))

Saturday is gonna be Eternal Sugar's starting arc related and Sunday is gonna be more of a for fun thing

does dark enchantress cookie have the full Light of Freedom in rising charcoal? Since its nof known if the ancients are alive, her having or not having the other half of their light could be an indicative that white lily is still out there!!(or maybe she collected white lily's fragments from beast yeast...(i just want my girl to be alive somehow;-;)

Dark Enchantress has the shards of the Light of Freedom and is using them to further the Ultimate Cookie Project. Mainly by using them as special power sources scattered between the factories, so she doesn't have them on hand.

This does put them in Silent Salt's grasp, but Dark Enchantress doesn't seem too concerned about the souljams OR the fact the Beasts seek to collect them again. Maybe it's because she already has the complete Virtue of Knowledge (not a secret plot thing, I just haven't brought it up yet). Maybe it's because she thinks the souljams won't be able to counter how weak the Beasts' new vessels are compared to her. Either way, she's most bothered by the interruptions to the nearly completed Ultimate Cookie Project. Though, she's quite sure it will be completed anyway, so even then she doesn't mind that much.

Also the old masterpost is a bit outdated- I've been on and off working on a better one. How the ancients are doing is a lot less mysterious in the new summary because the original was back when I hadn't decided everything.

Couple Notes

1. Never actually made the post explaining it, but Hollyberry's spirit (or something of the sort) is following Eternal Sugar around. Why can she do this? Why can the other Ancients seemingly not do this? The best theory is that it's something to do with the souljams, and that the other Ancients simply have no interest in speaking to their opposite at the current moment, but the theory will have to be tested with time

2. My Burning Spice draiwng ain't that good, and I also didn't have a reference for the Grapejam Chocoblade

3. I need to draw Elder Faerie being happy more often. Sure, he gets paid to be sad by the hour, but he can have a few breaks

There was some more but I think it was all Silent Salt and Elder Faerie, sounds about right
