From the first time I got to listen to It’s Not Me | It’s Used in full, to now as I enjoy his release of the entire project, the story behind Cobey’s lyrics inspired an entire visual narrative that I was determined to produce. Through the framework of Cobey.’s music I was also able to process my own story by bringing a visual identity to a relatable, yet distinctive narrative. We designed a promotion strategy that was cohesive with the music and story of the album, then I started producing the brand visuals including photos, music videos, album art, scheduling, copywriting, web design, and even email marketing. I have no idea how other DIY musicians take on so much beyond making the music. Cobey, thank you for letting me come on board to deliver this musical baby with you. Stream Cobey.'s new album: It’s Not Me | It’s Used It sounds like your favorite early 2000s #indie bands ( @boniver-blog + @deathcabforcutie-blog ) and #pop sensibilities like @billieeilish + @maggierogers went to a group therapy session. His arrangements sonically blend light and dark to use pain as a tool for growth. I had the privilege of being so close to this album in designing the visual narrative to align with Cobey’s story and music.
