Lots of birds can be intersex of course, but Mallards are one of the most frequently observed, probably because they're fairly common, easy to photograph, and the traits we think of as typically male- or female-type are easy to tell apart (if you saw a Song Sparrow that was intersex, for example, how would you ever know?)

Every time one of these gets posted on /r/whatsthisbird there's a chance some asshole will come in and complain about "why are the bird subs political now lol" or otherwise go off on some tangent about binary sex. It's like bait for my ban collection.

So I realized something about Monster Hunter Wilds today. I was messing around with the baby Seikrets because they're cute and I found out you could knock them over by stepping on them:

There are three ways you can knock them over. If you approach from the front, they get knocked backwards and get up quickly. If you approach from the back, they faceplant. If you approach from the sides, they get knocked over and stumble around a bit before getting back up.

The developers not only took into consideration that you would step on babies, but they also made sure you could step on them in multiple ways.

I love Capcom.

Damn, Capcom really did right by melanated ppl with the character creator for the Wilds Beta! Most games really don't (looking at you #FFXIV, #EldenRing). Look at my hunter! They're hot! They look Black! Their locs actually look nice! This ain't even max settings! Delighted
