This is partly why I don’t have an X account.

From the screenshots, it seems Shroomy is just enforcing a personal boundary, which is fine. And yes, we should respect that he doesn’t feel comfortable talking to pro-shippers.

It is 100% valid to have such boundaries.

For example, my blog. I have a “minors dni” and block minors on sight across all of my social media. It’s not because I hate kids. I’m just so far removed from my teenage years that I don’t feel comfortable interacting with them online.

But I also try to be sensitive to the whole pro-ship thing (within reason). A lot of times, people who write up taboo stories or darkfic were victims of the very thing they’re writing about. It’s a sick world out there. We all cope with it in different ways.

So for the whole pro-ship / anti-ship thing, I guess I’m just…neither? As long as no one is actively being harmed and it isn’t about or directed to real people, I just leave both sides alone.

Besides, I’vs no business criticizing anyone with half the shit I write about anyway.

I have never been in a growing fandom before. I usually fall into well-established ones where the show/media is long gone.
