Lana Del Rey to release an album and a poetry book in 2019

During an interview with Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, Lana has confirmed that she has been working on a new album since December 2017 with Jack Antonoff, which is due to be released in early 2019. She also plans to release a self-published poetry book right beforehand. 

Lana explained that the album was “in the vein of a Laurel Canyon sound” but had “transformed a little bit because there are some surf elements to some of the songs”. She also said that the album is not “really surf-y like Dick Dale” but features a lot of electric guitars with a little Red Hot Chili Peppers influence.

The album’s first single “Mariners Apartment Complex” is out now. 

The second single “Venice Bitch” will be out on September 18.
