Sometimes there are social media things I can get behind and this is absolutely one of them. Everyone needs to educate themselves on language and how the gender binary dialogue relates to white supremacy and oppression. If someone you love has asked you to change the pronouns you use to address them, listen and act accordingly. If you make a mistake, like we all do, recognize, apologize, acknowledge. Move past ignorance and defensiveness to a place of knowledge. The trans community is vast and vibrant and deserving of safety, respect and uplifting. These are some people I’ve learned a great deal from and I encourage you to follow them and learn from them and be quiet in their space when you should be.
