Look, I'm all for old movie remakes and all, but something about the idea of getting a remake of Electric Dreams puts me on edge. The movie is very much 80s, and I am worried the remake will not carry that over. The whole vibe of the move is just the pinnacle of 80s, and I just have a feeling that vibe will be completely lost in the remake. If they modernize the movie at all, which they likely will, it just won't feel Electric Dreams enough to me. If they make Edgar a modern computer or change the time period at all, it will ruin the entire thing for me anyway. And I'm worried about the actors they will choose for Miles and Madeline and if they will keep the same vibe as the original. Electric Dreams is really important to me, it's one of my special interests, so yes the idea of a remake was exciting at first but now I'm not so sure. I don't want the remake to wreck the entire movie. Then again, if the movie turns out to be decent, I'm just not sure if the Electric Dreams fandom will feel the same as it did before it came out. It's a cult classic 80s movie, and having a modern 2023 remake will just make it loose a lot of charm in my eyes and it will feel more like I'm just a test subject for big corporations to remake old movies just to appeal to so they can squeeze money out of me. That's just my opinion on the matter though, I'm still planning to throw a party with friends when the remake does come out and will watch it excitedly, just no matter how the remake goes I don't know how i will feel about it.

watching this one scooby doo movie that idk the name of but the main culprit was this futuristic AI house thing who was fucking everything up because she wanted attention because his scientist guy took credit for everything and my little heart breaks for her like i would give her SO much attention i'm tired of evil AI that's evil for perfectly understandable reasons but everybody treats i like it's the worst thing on earth (hi forgot about this post but edited to say it was NOT in fact a movie, it was an episode that just felt like it went on forever🥲 i think it was a what's new, scooby-doo? episode)
