DAY 4

We are finding the Swedish block interesting because of the passages with unusual columns. In our project we explore outstanding places, so the tunels are perfect for our portable screens. The whole instalation will let people freely pass through, but also to stop and watch presentation. Transparents, divided by two side, are bringing on the extra movement to our projections.

DAY 4

We want to show reflection of Nowa Huta in the past on the scenes of this area in the present time. Thanks to symmetry of Rose alley it’s possible to achieve the mirror effect not using mirrors in fact. We are using the existing architectural system to force peple to stop and think about space where they living.

DAY 4

We decided to locate the first installation in Rose Alley, under the arcades. We use existing architecture to build a system of screens, on which our movie can be projectet. The screens will be transparent to let people see shadows of another passers-by and the other side of the street. thanks to this way of presentation, it’s possible to watch the movie from both sides.

Day 3 The idea of our project is evolving from simple video about architecture to movie, which can help people to understand the space and the time they living.

We decided to come back to Nowa Huta, looking for inspiration and more materials for our video, to show how Nowa Huta looks today and in the past. Today, we are looking for specific places in Rose alley and near the Swedish block. We are fithing with rain and wind, but the weather could help us to highlight the charackter of socrealistick architecture.

main idea, some sketches and maps of the district, in red are our areas of interest. we will use the porticoes and arches that are in the path of roses to insert screens where videos will be shown, from the street you can see the shadows of people who will stand walking under the arcades
