Another Generation Takes the Field.

Gereion watched as his Niece walked along the stone path, her guards separating from her flanks to be reassigned for the evening.

Her eyes had been scanning the surrounding fields, watching the remaining workers go about finishing their tasks before she turned her attention to her Uncle at end of the path. “Uncle Gere, is everything alright?” Her expression was neutral while her voice hinted at concern.

Gereion shook his head, his hand moving up to ruffle her hair “Everything is fine my little Rose. I decided that I could welcome my niece home while I was back from the front.” He quickly pulled her to his side, as the walked together towards the house.

“Class will be over soon Uncle.” Her voice lost it’s concern in change for a chipper tone as she kept in stride. “Will I finally be joining you on the front?”

A sigh escaped Gere’s lips as he nodded “You’ve always wanted to be like your parents… Yeah, you’ll be taking to my side soon enough. So long as Paaine has cleared you from PT.”

Rose’s excitement was barely contained as she heard the confirmation, doing her best to hide it with a high pitched “Thank you.” before continuing the rest of their walk, thoughts of different futures filling both of their minds.

((So I fucked my knee up for the second time in the last few weeks and I was so hell bent on getting this finished and out that it’s easily not my best or proudest story but it’s something))

Khadgar stares at Integra, wondering if he's hallucinating. "Oh. Field Marshal! I was starting to think the rumors about you being a Unicorn were real."

Integra looked at Khadgar flatly. The Archmage that commanded as much respect as he demanded erroneous crystals was saying this. Surely he was joking. Maybe she should go along with it?

"Not to worry, Archmage. That's just.. my side job." Inte had made the attempt but immediately realized that she probably just caused herself more issues than it was worth. Oh well. She chuckled lightly.

What are five things that bring Integra joy? What are five things that do not? What is the one thing she truly desires and what would she do to pursue it?

Things that bring Inte joy:1. Her husband and daughter- James Brenagh, as played by @ithaerielbrenagh and their infant Lorelei; they are the loves of her life.2. Fishing- This is really Inte’s only true hobby and pastime, and she doesn’t get to do it very much due to the fact that there’s a war going on, as well as typically the people that insist on going with her are loud.3. Wine, Dwarven ale, and hot tea- They’re all beverages so they count as one category, right?4. Physical Training- She enjoys the workouts, as well as the workouts imposed on her troops. The better prepared her regiment is, the better equipped to handle situations thrown at them. 5. Hot stone and back massages- A luxury that she is rarely afforded, but it helps with the tension.

Things that do not bring Inte joy:1. War- She’s good at fighting and leading them, but she does not like the fact that lives are lost due to the conflicts. She writes each fatality letter to their next-of-kin herself as consistent reminders of the price of war. 2. Sallazaris Sunstriker- this asshat, a DK Belf alt of @theodorebennas, is a tactical... well, he’s something alright... that plays by his own rules. One of which is sleeping on the roof of the forge every now and then, as a Draenei colleague of his from the scourge works there and he enjoys her company despite everyone else not reciprocating that feeling.3. Her officers- these people are an equal mix of loyalty and cringe. She trusts and cares for each and every one of them but, by the Light do they sometimes need a babysitter more than her infant.4. Traitors- There is no need for those that turn their back on the Alliance or those that are fighting with you. Out of all the kills that she has, be it on the field or through execution, these are the ones committed with the most prejudice and bitter satisfaction.5. James when she gets back from conflicts- They are deeply in love with each other, don’t get me wrong, but when she comes back from fights all scuffed up and he meets her at the door holding their daughter, looking at her with disapproval... there’s guilt and annoyance.

One thing she truly desires and what she would do for it:To see the end of war, despite knowing it’s not going to happen. Inte has considered retiring so that she can be a bigger part of her family, but simultaneously knows she is needed where she is.

Out of curiosity, why would the oathsword vanguard have anything to do with the war that only Night-Elves and Gilneans is currently fighting in darkshore? Don't they have the war in Zandalari/Arathi Highlands that Anduin would have most likely sent them to?

“I have three Marshals, all of which are capable of spearheading different areas of the incursions of war that have been wrought upon the Alliance. I oversee everything and frequent each area as time permits. One of my Marshals, @ithaerielbrenagh, is more invested with the Darkshore campaign as he is indeed a Gilnean, and his fiancee’ is a Night Elf. Those under his command are primarily Worgen.”

The Field Marshal pauses for a moment. “It’s not necessary to divulge all operations of a military branch, especially when orders have been given from the King himself. I’m sure you understand.”

"I know where he is." An uncharacteristically mischievous smirk appeared on her face. "Summy, go get the necessary supplies... including glue. Let's aid our anonymous glitter assailant."

I will find you and I will throw glitter on you.

“Do not. Summy, did you do this? If not, you’re helping me deal with this.”

I hear you're a Unicorn!

This... deserves an explanation to anyone that isn't in the loop of the joke. It started with @gereionkingston commenting saying it, because I was never around in Stormwind. I legitimately don't like being there and Integra has very little IC reason to be there. People don't believe I exist more than half the time, despite @theodorebennas consistently shouting about me. There's a lot of WRA that think I'm an NPC figurehead and nothing more. So that's how "Integra is a unicorn because she doesn't exist" started.

However now it's evolved as every time I deny being a unicorn @ithaerielbrenagh chimes in with "aye, because yer an alicorn".

So. There's that. Hope this explains to death something you probably didn't need, want, expect, or any combination thereof an explanation to.

Hi, it’s been a while.

It’s been a crazy past... however many months it’s been. Four, maybe five? I got caught up in an intense cycle of studying for a certification for work, but yay I passed. I’ll be getting back into writing now that it’s over with... before I start working on the next one.  ._.;
