My New Fantasy Work!
Summary of my new work, found on AO3: Heroes bleed. Heroes die. Heroes sometimes never show up in the first place. Prophecies are just colourful poisonous lies filled with empty promises until they come to pass. Never set in stone until the events ring true in bright flows of blood. When no ‘saviour’ appears to save us all from the clutches of darkness, what then? What happens to us? The answer, you may ask… You may ask for an answer.
… Pitch-black darkness.
…
An overwhelming cold.
A chill races up and down spines.
Choked shuddery breaths.
Whispers of death creeping over the desolate wasteland of a once beautiful world, now nothing by a place of hellfire where dreams go to die…if you had any left in the first place.
All I can say…All I wish to say is the saviour is here.
But they have lost their chance to shine.
But yes, they did exist after all. And I knew them. We all did. https://archiveofourown.org/works/45022117/chapters/113277991

Lore: Settings: Illowisp
(Original setting for my fantasy realm)
I-L-L-O-W-I-S-P
Illowisp is...an odd little rural town. They are only half an hour walk from the rumoured Whispered Plains. And yet, if you dared to speak the name of that cursed place outside of telling the nursery rhyme, the Illowisp residents would be none the wiser to its place so close to their home.
But asking too many questions of the Illowisp residents wouldn't be wise anyway, if you were out of town. Most of them don't like Travellers, and despise Wanderers for that matter.
The building of Illowisp are made out of rich stone which is very common in Light meadowed regions of Astel. Stony Blue, Green, Orange and Red colour the building. The door and windows seem to all be trimmed with a deep red-coloured wood, sourced from the forests on the horizon. Mossy cobblestone pathways are lined with neatly placed and well cared for garden beds. There are even colourful streetlights, almost the shape of a circle, in soft pastel blue, pinks, yellows and purple along the paths.
But...it doesn't take too long for the beautiful town to get eerie. Not a single pot is out of place. Not a single weed to be seen. No scuffed stone or chipped wood. Not one dull light...
At night the bustling streets are replaced with menacing dull orange torchlight and strict guards holding board swords, ready to punish any ruffians who dare to break curfew.
You may ask what happened to this little town, for such tight standards to be enforced. But that is something only the residents know, and get too curious...you might just have to find a new place to rest tonight.

Half-Elf
(Lore for my own original fantasy world)
Half-Elves (sometimes known as Halflings) are the cross or more properly termed child of a elf and a human who got distinct features from both parents. If the child is a cross between a elf and some other species then they would be a Half-Elf hybrid.
Half-Elf, while not a standard, often have difficult childhoods. The cultural clash between elves and humans way of life often results in more divorces and break ups than not, and that's even if the parents are still together when the baby was born to begin with. And the parents left with the children either don't know what to do with just a elf-like magical child or what to do with such a human-like magical limited child. Two sides of the same coin for the child but...never satisfactory for their parents. So it's not uncommon for Half-Elf children to be in orphanages either.
Often able to use two magical elements if they are light or neutral elf descent, they are more skilled than most other species with magic. Despite the sour parts of their lives, they are often tricksters and like to play games. Further yet, the cross between human and elf magic enables them to get some unique magical abilites like teleportation and invisibility without having to put nearly half the work a pure human does. This only helps fuels their pranking and misbehaviour.
But beware there is a saying that goes around about these half-elves, and it's not very clear: "Knife in my heart, you are my friend dear one. Knife in your heart enemy oh deary me. Don't cross a half-elf, for while their smile may seem nice, friend or foe they are posion to you."

I was so close to thinking this related to one of my original characters but the ending took me for a twist...
Until I realised in a way, this is how they would think...
Thank you for this piece of sadness.
As you look straight ahead, you spot the glowing eyes of a monster. The same one that killed your family. That murdered your friends. Its eyes are full of hate and malice… or was it… remorse? You should really stop looking at that damn mirror.

But Sir, I have to know if the reports of them jumping out of the sky using pieces of fabric to steady their landing is true!
Their cells are literally slowly burning, they sustain themselves on a corrosive liquid, and they ingest poisons and toxins for fun, no to mention they can become several times stronger under stress. So no, we are **NOT** going to the human planet.

Lore: Careers: Runemaster
Arguably one of the hardest careers someone can chose is to be a Runemaster. Only Careers like Alchemist, Healers and Time Warpers are harder.
It often takes 7 years to become a Runemaster and that’s if someone completed Rudimentary and Basic magical education already. If someone didn’t complete Basic magical education, it would take 10 years instead. Without Rudimentary magical education it would take 15.
The good thing about Rune Magic is that it doesn’t rely on any particular core magic type or natural affiliation so anyone can realistically become a Runemaster. However just because everyone has the ability too doesn’t mean they can. Much like alchemy, Runes is a very particular art.
So…that means Runemasters are often a special brand of people.
A crazy brand.
But can you really blame them? After all they did learn 20 different Runic languages with thousands of different letters and that’s without even getting into all the different combination and lay lines involved.
Runemasters often take care of a variety of problems in society. Decoding ancient runes, setting up protection rituals, assisting in healing matrixes are just a few examples. Therefore, Runemasters is also arguable one of the safest careers. Because no one is stupid enough to harm a Runemaster. Not only are they rare and valuable skilled individuals, but they also often don’t discriminate who they will work with, providing their skills evenly.
But be wary against upsetting a Runemaster…because if you do…well…
You’re going to need more than a Healer to fix you.

Lore: Creatures: Wolf People
(Lore for my own original universe: Five is never a crowd if they are family)
Wolf People are a complex race. And they are very much different from Lycans or yet again from individuals with Lycanthropy and they want you to remember that. Because unlike those races, Wolf People don’t have a human form. Therefore, they are much more humanoid looking wolves than a Lycans wolf form or what Lycanthrope affected individuals change into on the full moon.
So, to simply put it they are an Animal Race not a Shape Shifting Race.
Wolf People often come in a variety of shape and sizes across the different regions. For example, the snow Wolf People are often very short with cream white fur or light grey. They often make whole towns out of snow drifts. Another example is Desert Wolf People who are the opposite. They are very tall and often have red or brown fur. Woodland Wolf People come in a variety of red, brown, creams and greys and are of average height. And that’s the differences before breaking it down even further into tundras, fields, forests, rainforest, dry desert, wet desert, etc.
Wolf People often live in communal packs with other individuals of their race and region. However recent magic infection across the lands has caused wide displacement of the more rural communities of Wolf People like the Tundra Wolf Peoples and Rainforest Wolf Peoples. Often case this causes the communal pack system to break down and the group to split into singular family units. However, for pack people, this is not good for their general health, wellbeing, magic and survival since they need the pack structure to thrive.
So, this has unfortunately resulted in an increasing number of Wolf People Orphans as the magical infections spread further, breaking down more pack systems. Since Wolf People often kept their histories and traditions enclosed, shared with pack members only, these orphans, without their parents, lack any knowledge in their history, pack traditions and how they are meant to live a communal pack life.
Therefore, it’s not rare to find a young Wolf Person travelling. Because often times they feel out of place wherever they go. So, they often spends their days searching for home as they long for their pack they don’t even know.

Lore: Creatures: Neutral Elves
(Lore for my own original universe: Five is never a crowd if they are family)
Neutral Elves often…don’t know what to do.
Maybe that’s a side effect of their equal parts light and dark magic but they would never admit that gives them grief. Somehow out of all the Elven races, Neutral Elves became the most prideful.
But then what else are they meant to do but kept their head held high as they walk past all the people giving them mistrustful stares or sometimes slurring out their ‘dark’ side. Asking which ‘parent’ it was. Like that’s how magic works.
The Neutral Elves often despair for the future when people till haven’t figured out that someone’s magic type really doesn’t relate to heritage. Like sure, the chances are increased if your parents have one magic type, and most parents have children with the same magic types as them. But it is not heritage related. The Elven have known that from ancient times. However, they just don’t know what the real cause is.
And that’s how this whole mess got started in the first place isn’t it?
Because if the Elven, the magical gifted race, don’t know why some people are only able to harness ‘Darkness’ then surely it must be for ‘sinister’ reasons. That people must have chosen to be ‘Dark’ magicked.
And Neutral Elves only served as a catalyst for this whole situation. They didn’t mean to. They never mean to cause wars. Doesn’t mean they haven’t bloodied their hands way too many times throughout history.
But this time all they did was exist, living in their own little light dark world. And the next time the Neutral Elves looked up, paid attention to someone other than themselves…
It was too late.
The seeds of hate had already been sown by someone else’s hand.

Lore: Creatures: Light Elves
(Lore for my own original universe: Five is never a crowd if they are family)
There are few species as blessed as the Light Elves.
They seemed to have everything at their fingertips. Not only did they have long lives, but they were also one of the most beautiful species with soft skin, gently smiles and bright eyes. Furthermore, they were gifted with the ability to control all 5 of the natural elements (fire, air, water, earth, lightning) if they wanted to. Not like other species only limited to one natural type from birth. Additionally, they did not face the stigma that Neutral Elves did for their ‘association’ with the darkness. And that’s even before considering the wide freedom they have compared to Dark Elves, who face ridiculous animosity, when they are in essence, the exact same Species as Light Elves, just different magic.
The Light Elves are able to gather and live peacefully in their Clans, practice their traditions, raise their young.
The key word there is able.
Because there is one thing that a lot of people got wrong.
A lot of people…for some asinine reason, thought that Light Elves would just…stand by and let their own people get killed over something like magic type.
Like Light Elves didn’t understand how the magic of the world actually worked and that without the balance of Darkness for all the Light, they would all be as good as dead. Like the most treasured magic type in natural gifted communities like Elven and Nymphs, wasn’t in fact Dark types.
So yes…Light Elves are able to live in peace if they wanted to.
But they would much rather make the sky rain blood for the pain caused to their breathen.
After all, the pretty flower often distracts you from the poisonous viper.
And Light Elves are far more than just a Blessed Race.
They are the heart of The Reckoning.

Lore: Creatures: Dark Elves
(Content Warning: mentions of genocide based on racial magical reasons. Please stay safe everyone) (Lore for my own original universe: Five is never a crowd if they are family)
In this world of ours, there is a lot of misconceptions about Dark Elves. A lot of misconceptions.
For some stupid reason a lot of people think the Dark Elves want to cause other harm using their ‘dark’ powers. That they were ‘converted to evil’.
However, the truth is quite simple.
The Dark Elves were born the way they were, just like Light Elves and Neutral Elves. The only different is as Dark elves, they can’t use the natural elements of water, fire, earth, air and lightning like the Light and Neutral Elves have the privilege to.
In essence, they are different. Different from what everyone thinks nature gifted species like Elves and Nymphs should be.
It doesn’t matter that for Light, there needs to be Dark.
It doesn’t matter that the ‘Darkness’ is sometimes things as innocent as Shadows or Decay, perfectly natural occurs in the greater world.
It doesn’t matter.
And that is why the raids against Dark Elves started.
And that is why it is so common to find a singular Dark Elf in the countries willing to provide sanctuary to them, even though all Elves are known to live in Clans numbering in the hundreds.
And that is why the Elf’s Clan’s ancestral tattoos which typical adorn their skin are rarely visible, hidden underneath clothing even in the most scorching desert and it’s even rarer if the tattoos glow.
Because most of the time…
There is no-one else left.

Lore: Settings: Rainforest Tavern
(Current setting of my new Ask Blog)
The Rainforest Tavern has a very unoriginal name. But when you are the only establishment daring enough to serve the strongest legal alcohol available about 20 metres up an ancient rainforest tree, you don’t really need an original name. Everyone knows who you are.
That being said, it’s not only daredevils who frequent this establishment. It is a popular resting spot for nomads and travellers alike. Connected from five different directions by suspension bridges in the Rainforest Canopy, there is much activity at all hours of the day.
The establishment not only caters for a variety of dietary needs with their wide full day menu, but it also has lodgings and its own little marketplace. And is certain individuals don’t mind getting rained on while they aren’t even travelling through the rainforest, there is a wide ring deck around the whole building. This additionally helps prevent any height sick travellers from having to face the dizzying height right outside their window as they try sleep in their lodgings.
Some people call the Rainforest Tavern a community. Other people call it a work of art. Some call it insane. It is all of the above. Especially if you happen to stumble across their night life.

Snippet of a First Meeting
(A piece of text from my new upcoming main story for my universe)
However, they don’t get to savour it for long before there is suddenly the sound of crashing in the long grass and a shriek rings out. “I’M SORRY! I’M SORRRYYY! ZEELLMMMAAA!”
Koi can barely blink before this…very short white cream wolf person…who’s shirtless runs out of the tall grass.

Snippets about the Whispering Plains
(Just a little teaser bit of text from my upcoming original work main story for this universe)
The Elf nomad smiles softly and looks back to the path before continuing, “A lot of people come out of these forests and plains. People who don’t belong to this world. This time and place. But then, a lot of people also don’t ever get to leave. Only the lost travel here. Only the wise and disciplined can get out. So young one, if you value your freedom, don’t come back to this place.”
