in my mind vfd has the most ridiculous vfd-acronyms for the most basic of things. cardboard box? Vessel For Deliveries. glasses? Vision Fixing Device. getting your blood drawn? Vermillion Fluid Drainage.

returning from four months of slumber to talk about the denouements again, which is typical of me, but the idea of them eating dinner together just struck me and
in my mind the three of them never really dine together, despite working and living together all the time. mostly they’re too busy to have a proper sit-down meal everyday, right? but they’re also just reluctant to have a family dinner what with being on the opposite sides of the schism and all that.
but maybe one day frank grabs a plate from the hotel kitchen and goes down to the library because it’s been a while since he’s joined dewey for dinner, and he finds that ernest is already there with his own plate of food. he considers leaving, but dewey is already waving him over, so he sits down at the table and they eat together as a family for the first time in years.
and it’s nice. they skirt around the subject of vfd, but they make light conversation and drink some wine and before you know it they’re all laughing over some clever joke dewey made, and it’s like getting a glimpse into what their every day would be like if it weren’t for the schism.
they don’t bring it up ever again, but in the years following, frank will sometimes go downstairs to eat with dewey, and some times ernest will be there, and for ninety minutes, it’s like they’re a real family again.

hc esmé is dyslexic but really good with numbers (financial advisor, remember?) and grows up with deep-seated shame about her poor reading abilities that she disguises as nonchalance, which is what eventually pushes her over to the firestarting side

the denouement triplets have this .... game / brother bonding activity where they occasionally put on a disguise and go to stay at hotel preludio or other hotels in the city for information gathering purposes. spy shenanigans but for rival hotels kind of thing. the game was started by dewey and ernest, they thought it would be a fun thing to do - and also to engage in spy shenanigans that are non-vfd related. they already do too many vfd related spy things and those are complicated, sometimes against each other, tiring, and comes with a lot of messy relationships to deal with, guilt to carry, and all that. and they thought it'd be a change of pace to do spy shenanigans not against each other, not causing rift between brothers, not related to their daily vfd work. something they're on the same team/side together.
so they would go to other hotels (mostly hotel preludio, the Main Rival) and observe what are the latest changes, to see if the hotel's making any renovations, any new ideas, etc. corporate espionage, dewey says. started out as just a game, something fun to do together, but they then they soon start incorporating things they see into their own hotel business as well, getting competitive.
eventually dewey also manages to rope frank into the game. they would take turns going out to stay at the different hotels (they can't really go together because it's best to have two managers at the hotel at any given time, not just for hotel business but also vfd business) (plus, twins/triplets showing up together increases the chance of being recognized, even if they put on some kind of disguise). sometimes one of their friends would go along as well. it's also a way for dewey to just, get out of the hotel, play a different role, play someone who's not him, just for a couple of nights. sometimes he and bertrand would pose as aspiring musicians from some small town outside of the city.

I just realized that I've never really given much thought to Amaya's life after she left the Legends but like... she kept her memories. She obviously stuck to the major parts of her timeline but what weird little things were different?
How many people do we think she spoiled Star Wars for?

it's fascinating how vincent and tedesco grew up in such similar circumstances yet still diverge so deeply in their values. vincent must have realized quite early on the importance of progress, but tedesco is utterly obsessed with conserving the very same traditions that keeps his family hungry, even if it's to his own detriment. radicalization vs stuck in the past. tedesco will never break free from the confines of his upbringing. vincent looks at him and catches a glimpse of what he could have been. they probably understand each other better than anyone else.
