Some Blindspot post series head canons
So I have obviously been thinking about nothing but Blindspot for the past four days now and being on team happy ending means I’m trying to fill in so many blanks and coming up with all possible head canons. Here are a few that I’ve imagined. Thought i would share. 😁
and it turned out much longer than expected so putting it behind a cut

Ranking every season of Blindspot...
I’ve always liked the way MG has described each season of Blindspot like “a novel in a series of books.” Each season has had its own arc, its own journey, and I have loved looking back at them over the past few days as I think about the series as a whole. I decided to make an attempt at ranking them now that we have a complete series to look back on...something than in itself still blows my mind!
So...here is my list! Along with some context and explanations. (A list that no one asked for but I thought I’d share anyways 😂)
Would love to see your rankings too if you are so inclined to share - I am sure we would get quite a variety across our little fandom!
5. Season Three
Never in a million years would I have expected to rank in “last place” the season in which Jeller got married. There is A LOT that I love about this season and some fantastic episodes. But this is also the season that frustrates me the most because I feel there were so many missed opportunities, especially when it came to Jeller repairing their marriage and learning to trust each other again. As a whole, season three feels like the messiest, least-cohesive, most “contrived” season of the series.
4. Season Five
So much to love about this season. The incredible series finale just blew my socks off. A finale of absolutely epic proportions. And I loved seeing the team out of their comfort zones, on the run, fighting to clear their names and save the world. And don’t even get me started on how Rich DotCom became the heart and soul and anchor of this team, holding them together. The only reason I don’t have this season ranked higher is that this was very clearly a scaled-back season in almost every way - fewer episodes, fewer location shoots, fewer stunts. That said, I am beyond impressed with what they accomplished in this gift of a season with way fewer resources than they’d ever had before.
3. Season One
I started a rewatch of season one on Friday and am already half way through it. It is wild to look back at where the show - and these characters - started, now knowing where they “end up.” The pilot episode of Blindspot remains, IMO, one of the strongest pilots ever. And season one has MAYFAIR! One of the most fantastic network TV characters in recent memory and I still miss her very much. Season one had great twists and turns, and a much more “procedural” feel, with the tattoo “cases of the week,” which allowed us to get to know these characters in all kinds of situations.
2. Season Four
I surprised myself with this one! I really debated between season one and season four for placement here and honestly, could easily swap them on my list. I remember kind of dreading season four during the hiatus because I was NOT into the idea of a return of Remi. Like...at all. Up until season four, I had always thought of Remi as a completely different person - one that Jane had left behind for good. Boy, was I wrong. “Check Your Ed” completely changed the way I looked at Jane, at Kurt, at Jeller, at Blindspot. “I finally feel like a whole person.” Until Jane said those words, I hadn’t realized how important it was for her to reconcile everything about her journey for herself, and for Kurt to see Remi as a part of Jane and accept her for who she really is. It created a whole new Blindspot for the rest of the series, one that I somehow loved even more.
1. Season Two
I remember filling out a little hiatus Q&A on here sometime after season two and I agonized over the “favorite season of Blindspot” question - and there were only two to choose from then! But my answer hasn’t changed. Season two is absolutely epic. The introduction of Roman and Shepherd as Jane’s family turned Blindspot on its head in a fantastic way. And the FBI team became a family in a real and meaningful way during this season. Season one was when I got to know these characters...season two was when I fell in love with them.

I love our Blindspot Tumblr Fam.
I’ve always found it lovely, but after canon ended, it shows me even more so how special it is. Maybe it’s one of the perks of being a tiny group of mostly adults, but still.
With a finale as double edged as it is, I see no fighting. People have different opinions, vastly different points of view, people fangirl, mourn or rage, but there is no entitlement or animosity towards each other. People comfort each other, we help each other out.
I haven’t seen a single post that’s “this is how it is and if you don’t agree you’re stupid” (not that there’s ever been one as far as I’ve seen, but the ending could be particularly divisive), while even dipping my toe in some fandoms there is so, SO much in-fighting. Ship wars, people that don’t want to accept the canon ending of something (which is fine, headcanons are awesome) but that channel that in a negative way, in a “if you accept it you are sheeple” or something, among other things.
It’s true that most of our tiny fandom -from what I’ve seen- is very on board with the main, canon ship. But there are other ships that contradict each other (Tasha/Reade vs Tasha/Patterson, Patterson/Rich vs Patterson/Roman vs Rich/Boston) and everyone is respectful, or can see the merit in that ship even if they don’t ship it, and that is so damn rare.
TL;DR Blindspot Fam y’all are awesome and rare and I hope we keep this alive for as long as possible, because we’re a great lil family.
