Amen!! Girly actually needs a life that doesn’t always involve a man or mike

the fact that people are so fixated on wanting marriage for a girl that has been controlled all her life is so sad to me, like it or not the institution of marriage has its base in the idea that women were property of men and also a way for men to make financial agreements between the father of the bride and the groom, I don't want her to settle down with a man that she started dating when she was 11 years old, I want her to travel the world and have new experiences, learn new stuff and have many lovers and friends and explore the world as much as she can, I want her to feel all the freedom that she can feel before she decides if she ever wants to settle down with someone, be this someone Mike or somebody else doesn't really matter, I want her to be truly free and not always have to consider a partner when making a decision about her life because she's been doing that since she was WAY too young!

nancy wheeler will survive in season 5

ok maybe I'm biased because i love nancy alot and of course want her to live, but nancy stans you don't really need to worry about her fate in season 5.

the duffer brothers love including 80's and 70's film nods and references into stranger things. over the seasons we have seen alot of parallels to "a nightmare on elm street". the main character/final girl is Nancy Thompson and also vecna has alot of similarities to freddy krueger.

nancy wheelers character is directly derived from nancy thomspon. both are characters who are school focused, good students and both have curly brown hair. their costume choices are also very similar too. both are incredibly smart, cunning, intuitve and investigive. and of course the obvious being they are both named nancy.

when you consider nancy is the final girl in the film I think this will allude/foreshadow nancy wheelers ending in season 5. I think its safe to presume that she will live and be a final girl herself.

the fate of steve harrington season 5 theory!!!

as we all know steve is the most theorized character death since season 2, but will it actually happen? heres why I think steves death will be one of the main deaths

( I have no actual evidence for this theory its more of an analysis )

as well know or if not steve was originally supposed to be killed off in season one. they changed this and gave him a redemption arc which we see in the season finale. this change of story will be rexamined later

season two steves redemption continues and his character progresses into a mature person who develops friendships with the unlikely. He also starts to slowly let go of his longing for a perfect life with nancy

season three his redemption is almost fully developed as he is now getting life experience, making new friends again and has fully let go of nancy and his bettering himself away from the season one steve

season four we see this character development regress, he confesses his love for nancy and makes it evidently clear he is back in love with her

alot of fans including myself said this is ruining his character redemption arc. however to understand it I had to look at it from a different lense. and well yes technically they are "ruining" in a way, something bigger is at play, to me thats the only logical explanation

In season four we seen him turn back to his season one self in certain ways. this is important when you consider we know he was supposed to be killed off and season five is said to be like season four and seasom one combined. makes sense they are turning his character back.

steve has had his redemption, time to grow, mature and make the right choices, the last choice he'll make is his sacrifice, it would complete his original fate and his character arc. it would be a hugely pivotal moment for his character.

stranger things would struggle with no robin buckely

a list of reasons why

she solved and cracked the russian code within hours

she figured out they could use the vents to sneak in

she further helped the group in season three during the final scenes

she helped find where eddie was staying

figured out music could help max escape vecnas curse

found the articles related to victor creel which further helped get to vecna

I genuinely cannot wait for robin moments like these in season five she is such a vital character!!!

Wow, so the Duffers are really really going all in for the Wrinkle in Time inspiration for Season 5

I made a few posts about two months ago that are good supplemental reading material about how 'being different' in itself is a reference to a Wrinkle in Time, and how Escape from Camazotz is not about Eddie but another reference to the novel that symbolizes forced conformity.

We have (hopefully) photos coming later today of Mike, Holly, and Will riding on bicycles. Now this is so so interesting because the writers have already confirmed a Wrinkle in Time will be an inspiration for the season multiple times. Not to mention that it has already been written into the show since Season 1:

The 'A Wrinkle in Time' plot goes as follows: "Combining theology, fantasy, and science, it is the story of travel through space and time to battle a cosmic evil. With their neighbour Calvin O’Keefe, young Meg Murry and her brother Charles Wallace embark on a cosmic journey to find their lost father, a scientist studying time travel. Assisted by three eccentric women—Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which—the children travel to the planet Camazotz, where they encounter a repressed society controlled by IT, a disembodied brain that represents evil. Among the themes of the work are the dangers of unthinking conformity and scientific irresponsibility and the saving power of love." - Encyclopedia Britannica.

At a point in their journey, Charles Wallace becomes willingly hypnotized by The Man with the Red Eyes (a vessel for the IT). He tries to put up a fight but eventually succumbs to the hypnotism and is also kidnapped onto the planet / realm Camazotz.

Meg and Charles are siblings. Calvin is a boy from school who befriends Meg and then becomes her love interest. In the original movie adaptation, and at the beginning of the 2018 adaptation, he sports a distinctive green and beige varsity jacket layered with a red and orange plaid shirt.

I've talked about the themes in the novel in those two posts about, but I'll briefly emphasize that the main theme is nonconformity and how being different is good. Calvin and Meg in particular bond over their shared experience of 'being different', and Calvin is finally able to *cough* come out of the closet and start 'being different' openly.

And there is no world in which is this not intentional. :)

escape from camazotz - stranger things

honestly for most episodes the titles usually indicate some things but they are hard to predict exactly what they mean.

episode 6 "escape from camazotz"

as we all know after looking at this vecna uses bats as guards and weapons for the upside down. i'm not an eddie comes back in season 5 truther but i think its worth mentioning he could have something to do with it since he sacrificed himself and could come back as a zombie/vampire like knight/ could be used as trauma against the group especially dustin.

my prediction is something big and pivotal happens in this episode and potentially leaves a cliffhanger. I also think they will do two parts to season 5 and the first six episodes will be first then the last two.

every season its usually episode 6 or 7 that leaves on a cliffhanger and sets up for the finale and final battle scenes.

episode six like in season one which is also eight episodes will most likely be the episode where there is a plot tiwst or cliffhanger.

season four left a plot twist in episode seven so it makes sense for season 5 it would be episode six. the tense of the word escape implies alot of action and nerve racking scenes.

I agree as much as we all want more content they most likely want to not do that since this season is the last and it’s so big they will eventually release teasers and trailers but won’t be for a few more months!! Patience is key!!

I’ve seen a lot of backlash against the writers & production team for not giving us much today and I just wanna leave a reminder here that they can only give us so much. Yes we all want content and a teaser and whatever else but this is their last season, it’s going to be big and they’re obviously trying to keep as much of it under wraps as possible. There’s already been so many leaks and if I were them, I wouldn’t want to be giving too much away just yet. It’s also the same day the election results were announced which makes it even more difficult to place so much attention on the show. I guess my point is just be kind, they’ve obviously been working very hard on s5 and the wait is likely going to be very worth it and also very necessary.

Season 5 update/theory

New pics were released of season 5 bts, it’s seems to be some upside down growths which are in some sort of lab which is mosr likely somewhere in Hawkins.

Look being honest the first one makes me uncomfortable like ew what is it?

However the second one reminds me of a cocoon. I bet some weird ass creature is growing in there like a demobat. It won’t be massive but probably harmful or could also be like the poison sprout things in the tunnels in season two
