    Silas doesn't kill just for the sake of it. Never. He always has a purpose, either that person is a problem in his plans, or he needs to feed so he will drain that person. It isn't he doesn't enjoy inflicting pain, but he enjoys more the emotional that the physical pain. Besides, alive people can be useful, dead, they can't.
