Sleeping with A Friend -- Ch. 1
This is another AU story that I have been working on for the last month or two, it's about my main OC Sabrina McMahon, semi-retired professional wrestler and now football coach and personality on the Pat McAfee Show. She has a playful and somewhat flirtatious banter with regular weekly guest, NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers. They get along just fine on the show, but in person it could take another turn entirely.
Chapter 1
Today, it was an unusually full studio at the Pat McAfee Show. And well, it still felt surreal to Rina as she walked in to get settled for the day's show. A couch on the right-hand side of the desk was Pat's, where Rina's station was usually set up. Today, she will be joined by both Aaron Rodgers and AJ Hawk, who typically participate via video. Setting her bag down on the floor and out of frame, the former Green Bay Packers teammates and friends entered the studio space. Before she could claim an end seat, both Aaron and AJ sat down on either end of the couch. Rina must've made an audible noise of annoyance because Aaron commented:
"Ooh, now Rina has to sit next to me; sorry bout that."
"Why are you sorry?" AJ asked since both he and Rina needed clarification about that.
"She hates me," the longtime quarterback said with a wide grin.
"I do not," Rina disagreed emphatically, dropping her purse to the ground. Rina straightened up, hands on her hips, clearly taken aback by Aaron's bold statement. She gave him a mock glare as she walked over to the couch. "Hate is a strong word," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "I would just... prefer not to sit next to you."
Aaron's grin only widened, clearly enjoying the playful tension. "Uh-huh. Right. So, you're just choosing to sit next to me because?"
Rina shot him a look as she plopped down next to him. "Because I have no other choice."
AJ leaned back, shaking his head with a laugh. "The tension's palpable. I'm starting to feel like I'm in the middle of something here."
Rina rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress a smile. "You guys are ridiculous." She shifted slightly on the couch, ensuring an exaggerated gap between her and Aaron. "I'll have you know; I don't hate you. I just don't like you very much."
Aaron leaned in, pretending to take offense, but his smirk never left. "Ouch. Don't like me very much? That stings, Rina." He dramatically touched his heart as if her words had truly wounded him.
AJ, always eager to fan the flames, chimed in. "Yeah, man, that's cold. You're going to take that?" He turned to Rina, giving her an exaggerated look of concern. "You breakin' his heart like that?"
Rina, clearly enjoying the banter, shot AJ a pointed look. "I'm just being honest. There's no love lost here."
Aaron raised an eyebrow, leaning closer to her. "No love, huh?" He glanced at AJ, then back at Rina. "I think you're just playing hard to get."
Rina shook her head with a laugh. "Yeah, that's it. You've figured me out."
Aaron chuckled, leaning back as if pleased with his cleverness. "I knew it! Rina, you're waiting for me to make the first move."
AJ jumped in, clearly loving this angle. "Oh, this is juicy! Should we start taking bets on how long it takes for Rina to crack?"
Rina crossed her arms, trying to look unfazed. "You both are ridiculous. I'm not cracking; I'm just here to do my job."
AJ was practically cackling now. "Man, this is like watching a rom-com," he said, mocking the overdramatic dialogue with a high-pitched voice. "Will Rina finally realize that deep down, she's in love with Aaron? Stay tuned, folks."
Rina groaned, but she was fighting a grin. "Please. This whole conversation is ridiculous. I do not hate you, Aaron."
"Sure, you don't," Aaron teased, leaning back with a mock-serious expression. "I can sense the disdain radiating off you already." Rina rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress a smile.
"It's not disdain; it's just that I have to deal with your antics in person now." AJ laughed, shaking his head.
"You have no idea what you're in for. Aaron is way worse live than on screen."
"Hey!" Aaron feigned offense, touching his chest. "I'm a joy to be around."
"Joy, huh? Is that what you call it?" Rina shot back, settling into her seat beside him. "I'll need an extra coffee just to keep up."
"Good idea," AJ chimed in. "You might need a whole pot to survive today."
"See? I'm not the only one who thinks you're a handful," Rina said, smirking at Aaron.
Annoyed or not, it kept bothering Rina that Aaron thought that she hated him. Indeed, there were people she didn't like and a few that bordered on hatred, but Aaron wasn't in that group. They disagreed on many topics and, therefore, argued/debated passionately. As she listened to the top news coverage, she watched Boston Connor holding up his whiteboard to show Pat a specific point. This gave her an idea, so she pulled her iPhone from the pocket of her jeans and opened up a new text message.
From: Rina To: Aaron Msg: What can I do to show you I don't hate you?
Like back in college, Rina attempted to act like she wasn't texting someone sitting beside her. But she couldn't help herself and peeked over at Aaron as he retrieved his phone to read her message. A grin appeared on his face as he typed out his reply. Soon enough, the phone in Rina's hand vibrated, letting her know the message had been delivered.
Rina held her breath, curious about Aaron's response. He looked over at her, still grinning, and typed back quickly.
From: Aaron To: Rina Msg: How about you admit I'm the most charming guy in the room?
She couldn't help but laugh at his over-the-top reply. Rina typed back just as quickly, a smirk on her face.
From: Rina To: Aaron Msg: Not happening. I might concede that you have a certain… charisma, but charming? Please.
Aaron pretended to be offended, dramatically clutching his heart. "Ouch! That hurts, Rina," he said loud enough for the cameras to catch.
AJ, catching onto their exchange, chimed in, "I think Rina's just scared to admit she likes you, Aaron."
Rina shot AJ a playful glare. "I'm not scared; I just have standards."
Aaron leaned in closer, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "You know, I can work on that. Just give me some time."
Rina rolled her eyes, but a smile betrayed her amusement. She typed again.
From: Rina To: Aaron Msg: How about you focus on being less annoying today?
He laughed, shaking his head.
From: Aaron To: Rina Msg: No promises. But I'll try to keep the charm levels up.
Rina couldn't help but smile, realizing the playful tension between them wasn't as one-sided as she thought. She felt more at ease as the show progressed, ready to keep up with whatever antics he had planned.
From: Rina To: Aaron Msg: Last chance for requests to show you that I don't hate you.
Rina sent one last message before she would let it be when she got another response from Aaron.

Unexpected Reunion - Ch. 3
A/N: I was inspired by @let-me-love-you-loki and her amazing fics and I decided to write out the fictions I wanted to, for me. This is an AU pairing of my main OC Sabrina ‘Rina’ McMahon and Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks! I also tried going back and forth between perspectives for the first time!
Chapter 1     Chapter 2
Rina Sadly our time in Japan went much faster than I would have liked. We were back in Los Angeles, about to go our separate ways. I'd made some plans with an old friend before I knew I would become so close with AJ's new group of buds. I'd made a reservation at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, and seeing as I wasn't ready to say goodbye, I'd upgraded to their suite to have room for everyone. As we pulled up to the property, all of their eyes glazed over. I giggled as the driver opened the door and stepped out first. "Thanks again for agreeing to let me cover this. I'd made this reservation before I knew I was making new friends. I got the suite, though!" The guys piled out, still in awe. "Hello? Guys?" I snapped my fingers a few times, and Nick finally made eye contact with me.
"Wow," He said with a very grateful smile.
"I hope you enjoy some much-needed R and R with the amenities here; you guys deserve it after this tour. I've been tired for you!" Everyone laughed as they followed me into the hotel and across the hyper-polished marble floors. I checked in, and a bellhop appeared with a cart for our bags. The guys seemed reluctant, but I insisted they enjoy every part of the experience. With my open Louis Vuitton wallet still in hand, I handed the man a folded-up bill with a smile.
"Thank you, Ms. McMahon. I'll have these up to the suite shortly. Enjoy your stay with us," I gave him a nod and smile and herded the boys off towards the gleaming elevators. Once inside, I zipped up my wallet and shoved it back into my purse.
"Louis Vuitton? Fancy now, Rina," AJ teased.
"Nattie loves all things LV. These were Christmas gifts. She also got all my animals LV collars." I shook my head but smiled at the memory.
"Animals?" Matt looked up from his phone.
"I have a dog and two cats. Oh, and a tarantula." I suddenly felt five pairs of eyes on me. "What?"
"A spider? As a pet, really?" Matt seemed incredulous.
"Tempestia is a doll, I promise. She has this cute little castle that she lives in. But I keep her in my office because not everyone is fond of the eight-legged friends." The guys nodded, seemingly mollified by this. Once we reached the top, we exited the elevator, and finding the large door; I opened it with a flourish. "Welcome home for the next few days, gentlemen," They walked inside in awe; the room was large and airy. Two large sectional couches spread across the living room in front of a large flat-screen television. A daybed stood behind it and off to the side, just beside the door that led to the balcony. Two more beds had been set up near the on-suite bathroom in the other half of the room. There was also a separate bedroom that was, of course, the star of the suite. The walls were cream-colored, as was all of the bedding. Gold accent pillows dotted everywhere with brushed stainless steel hardware on the tables. The guys also didn't know what to do with themselves, so I busied myself with a routine.
I slid behind Nick and Matt, entered the suite bedroom, and put my bag down. Letting my hair down with a shake, I kicked off my shoes and stripped out of my socks. I hummed to myself as I went back into the main living area and threw open the doors to the balcony. The California light breeze hit me, and I stood there admiring the view.
Nick My brother and I had never stayed anywhere so fancy in our entire lives. She seemed at home, though, knowing how to speak to the staff and slipped cash to the man who took our bags. Of course, her wallet was designer brand, but she explained it was another wrestler who gave it to her. The look on her face when she talked about her pets, even a tarantula, was soft. She breezed us down the hallway and into a giant room. Holy crap. I stood frozen, along with Matt and AJ. Again she seemed at home, claiming a bed and getting comfortable. I looked over as she stood in front of the now open doors to the balcony, and my heart stopped before stuttering back to life. She looked over her shoulder, and our eyes met. The smile that touched her lips just about knocked me sideways, and all I could do was grin like an idiot. When her phone broke the silence, I was about to ask her a question. I soon recognized the lyrics as Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne.
"Hang on," She fished the phone out of her pocket, looking at the phone with a smile. "Hello, hello, Tommy!" She answered in a sing-song manner before wandering out onto the balcony. Whoever this Tommy was made her very happy. I pursed my lips as I was unsure what to make of this. The jealousy immediately bubbled up in my stomach, even though I had no right to be. My brother, ever the annoyingly observant older brother, smacked me in the chest. I shook my head to clear it unsuccessfully, and we both went about settling down and getting comfortable.
Rina The phone rang through the picturesque silence; of course, he was calling already. "Hello, hello, Tommy!" I greeted.
"Hello, yourself. Did you get here yet?"
"Of course I did, or my phone wouldn't be on. Staying in Beverly Hills."
"There's this amazing new Italian restaurant I know you would love. We should go; I'd love to take you,"
"Is it fancy?"
"The fanciest, just up your alley."
"The only kind of restaurant I didn't bring clothes for!"
"What do you mean?"
"I just got back from a wrestling trip, Tom. I don't have anything nice with me."
"Well, that sounds like a simple problem, Rina."
"I'd need your wife! She's my fashion consultant."
"What do you mean?" He asked with a laugh.
"I'd need her to go shopping with me; I don't know what looks good on me. I don't think anything looks good on me."
"Well, I think I can serve that role; I know what looks good on you. Think of it as a new bonding experience, I insist."
"Only if you pay for the shoes," I grinned wickedly.
"Christian Louboutin, it is; get ready; I'll pick you up in a couple of hours."
After exchanging I love yous, I hung up and went back into the suite.
"Hey, guys?" They were sprawled out, two on beds and three on the couch. "Would you be okay without me if my friend Tom stole me for a couple of hours?"
"Ooh, the infamous Tom. What's he want?" AJ asked as he walked over to me.
"He wants to take me to this Italian place, but I don't meet the dress code. Chi-chi. So he's gotta take me shopping," I brushed AJ's growing hair from his eyes.
"Hmm, I suppose we can spare you," He drawled out dramatically.
"Good because he's on his way! And I'm getting new shoes. He's paying too."
"Ouch. Tom is not even your husband, and you have him whipped," I giggled at that remark.
"Being the ex-turned-best-friend has its perks," I settled on the couch between Kenny and Nick.
Nick As she explained who this mystery Tom was, my stomach unclenched. She sat beside me, folding her legs up neatly.
"Any uh, special perks?" Kenny asked her, to which she cackled.
"Never. That ship sailed fifteen-plus years ago. Besides, Tom is married to a literal supermodel. You don't trade in a Lamborghini for a Ford," That comparison made my face wrinkle. Did she really somehow think of herself as anything less than a goddess? Did she not see what she could do to people? I reached out and brushed her arm.
"So you're saying you're built Ford Tough?" I tried to make her at least crack a smile at the bad joke.
"Something like that," She mused, half her lips cracking upward. "Why don't we hit the beach before I have to spend all of Thomas' money?" She changed the subject smoothly, resting a hand on her neck. Everyone cheered before splitting off to get ready. I put my hand on her knee and rubbed it gently.
"I think you're beautiful," I said softly. The rush of red to her cheeks was delightful to watch, and then she put her hand on mine.
"Thank you. You're pretty handsome yourself, Nick." She squeezed my hand before getting up and disappearing into her room. The boys stripped down and got into shorts, whereas she emerged later in a one-piece swimsuit and tied a cover-up around her hips.
Rina
The gang hung out enjoying some complimentary snacks while I waited for Tom to arrive to pick me up in the lobby. Once we'd finished at the beach, I changed into some comfortable jeans and a Property of New England cropped t-shirt. I was tucked up in a corner, Nick at my side along with his brother Matt. My phone pinged from its spot on the table. I was only expecting one person to message me since all my other friends were scattered around me at the moment. I pushed up on my legs and saw a simple 'Pulling up now' before hopping to my feet. I looked up at the doors and saw all six feet four inches of the California dream boy that was my best friend breeze into the hotel lobby. Before I knew it, I was taking off across the marbled floors and ran into him at full speed.
He caught me with a laugh and twirled me around. "It's been far too long, Rin."
"I'm glad we agree, Thomas. Now put me down!" I giggled, not caring how loud.
"Shall we?"
"Meet my friends first?" I took his hand and pulled him back towards the guys, frozen in the lounge area.
"Sure," I towed him along back over to the gang.
"Guys, this is Tom. Tom, this is AJ, Kenny, Adam, Matt, and Nick. Guys, this is Tom, one of my very best friends." I pointed each man out, and I couldn't help that my smile got bigger once I got to Nick's name.
"Hey, a pleasure to meet ya," Tom waved with his trademark winning smile. Everyone stared for a good thirty seconds.
"Guys? Are we alive?"
"You're Tom Brady!" Matt exclaimed, to which Tom and I both laughed.
"Excellent observation, Matt. Yes, Mr. Brady is a friend. And soon to be much poorer," I reminded him gleefully. Tom shook his head with a smile as I handed out hugs. "See you guys later, don't have too much fun without me." I saved Nick for last and didn't quite want to let go. Tom cleared his throat. I let go sheepishly, avoiding the eyes of everyone before looping my arm through Tom's and following him out of the lobby. We climbed into the waiting SUV and settled into the backseat.
"So, how long have you liked him?" Tom asked me point-blank.

Hello
A/N: Rina prepares for the first meeting of Tom Brady as a member of the opposing team and her Patriots. Week 4 of the 2021 season. Fluff.
Rina wrung her hands nervously as she waited in the portico area of the Gillette Stadium complex. It was certainly not the first time she was waiting for her friend Tom after he had left the Patriots. They'd spent several days in the offseason as families, their children playing and laughing together in the Florida sunshine. She'd been there for him during the playoffs and Super Bowl LV as a guest. That had been different, as she was not on the sidelines like she could be with the Patriots. Bruce Arians was cordial to her but was not trusting enough to allow her near his coaching staff or players during games. It was only fair; she was viewed as a potential Patriots spy. There had been plenty of media speculation that this had been a Belichick ploy to send in a Trojan horse.
It was indeed a different atmosphere than last week when she had been waiting for Jules, who was honored during last week's game. She felt a wave of unsureness as she turned to her phone again. It was a text message from her husband Josh, checking in with the kids as they were about to depart their Boston apartment to head towards the stadium. Even as AJ and Thomas grew older, it was hard for them to still be at the stadium many hours ahead of game time. A smile broke her lips as she saw them dressed in their little Patriots jerseys and jeans, Josh rebelliously wearing a Detroit Lions t-shirt as well. "See you soon, my loves, careful of the traffic, babe," was what she typed in response. Down the hall, she could see Steve Belichick's way towards her.
"Rina, my dad wants to see you," the youngest Belichick relayed his father's message. Rina nodded, following the younger Belichick back down the hall towards the team locker room area. As a woman, she preferred not to go into men's locker rooms unless necessary. So she waited across the hallway and down a few paces while the younger Belichick went in, and a few seconds later, the elder Belichick came out.
"Are you ready for this?" Bill asked abruptly; Coach didn't waste time, especially on game days. He'd be relying on her eagle eyes if she spotted something on the field, just in case one of the other coaches and assistants missed the tiniest opening. He also knew how she felt about Tom, and working against one of your best friends was never easy, especially for someone who wore her emotions as Rina could.
"Yes. I know my job here, Coach." Rina responded with her chin held aloft, the infamous McMahon dimple and gumption showing.
"I know you do. I'm asking if you can handle the other side," His blue-grey eyes pinned her to the wall as she felt the anxiety well up again. Looking down for a moment, she looked back up with a half-smile.
"It's not going to be fun, and I'm as prepared for whatever feelings may come up as best as I can be." Coach Belichick nodded.
"You going to go see him?"
"Of course,"
"Then I'll see you after that," With that, Belichick went back into the locker room, and Rina jogged back down to wait. When she arrived, she saw that she had to wait no longer, as Tom Brady was chatting happily with Robert Kraft. As Mr. Kraft moved past Brady at last, she walked over with a smile.
"Lookie here what the cat dragged in; gosh, they'll just let anyone in this place these days," She quipped to catch Tom's attention. He looked over his shoulder, they made eye contact, and a piece in Rina's heart clicked back into place.
"Hey now," Tom said as he reached out for Rina and pulled her close. As she settled into his embrace, memories of many years in this same building ran through her head. They didn't need to talk; they spoke regularly on the phone and by text. The symbolism wasn't lost on others, who let them have their moment unhurried and unbothered. Perhaps they could've made their relationship work so many years ago in another life. Nearly twenty years had passed since the two had dated, and Rina still felt the faintest butterflies in her stomach when he looked at her. She settled into the embrace and knew it was all just hopes and dreams. Those weren't ones to come true, not in a million years. Sometimes they were nice to reminisce and re-visit, to feel that way again for a moment. Now, as she looked up at his bright smile and blue eyes, she was even more thankful for how things turned out.

It’s Never Been Like This Before
A/N: My OC Rina is off to post-season practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in preparation for their run to Super Bowl LV.
Hooking a face mask over her ear, Rina took a deep breath and exited her silver BMW X3. She was here at Advent Health Training Facility in Tampa Bay, FL, the practice facility of the Buccaneers. There was going to be an open-to-media and guest practice in preparation for the playoffs. Tom had asked her to attend so he could get her breakdown and observations. Back in New England, the coaching staff expected and encouraged her participation. Here though, she was just another name on the guest list, so she wouldn't have the same type of access she would have to the Patriots. Coach Arians had been nothing but kind, but it was clear there was no trust for this long-time Patriots organization member. She didn't even dare bring her camera for fear of being accused of trying to cheat. She slipped her Louis Vuitton backpack straps on as she crossed the parking lot before encountering the gaggle of press members waiting to get in.
Slipping the mask over her nose and mouth and securing it behind her other ear, she drew the fitted ballcap down a bit tighter. As always, she wanted to be as inconspicuous as possible, but often that was not even a remote possibility. The reporter beside her looked her up and down from about four feet away and recognized her.
"Sabrina McMahon, right? I'm surprised to see you here; what brings you to the Bucs facility?" He got his notebook out as he awaited a reply.
"I'm here to watch a friend; they asked me to come. Moral support, that's all." She gave him as kind of an expression as was possible behind the face mask. A few other reporters took notice; some also jotted down the quote. She shifted her weight from hip to hip and waited as patiently as she could. Once the mass was allowed to start to trickle in, Rina slipped her backpack off and opened it for inspection. Security looked her up and down before turning their flashlight on and poking around the bag. It revealed a wallet, notepad and pen, and hand sanitizer. They waved her through, and she was handed a lanyard with a badge. The badge read guest, along with the last name of the player that had vouched for her. Taking her cap off momentarily, she slipped it over her head before replacing the worn blue hat atop her head. Staff directed the way to the practice field and bleachers for the expanded crowd. Rina looked along the area and saw players stretching. It was a familiar football atmosphere, guys laughing and having fun, some being very serious and some looking like they had a rough night. As usual, I looked for him. Finding number twelve, I waited until he looked toward the sidelines and gave him a wave.

Unexpected Reunion - Ch. 2
Chapter 1
On with Chapter 2~
Tumblr media
Nick I was only vaguely familiar with what hit me in the head, and the surprise was enough to send me over to my back. The laughs from the guys let me know they knew precisely what they were doing.
"Nick?" God, her voice saying my name was a drug I was willing to hit a thousand times a day. She giggled, and I opened my eyes to see her above me. Another sight I wanted to repeat a million times. "You okay?"
"Physically, yes. My ego will be bruised and require treatment for many days; I'll be accepting applications for a nurse." In joking, I figured I could slip in a subtle flirtation and see how she responded. She giggled again, stepping back as I got to my feet and dusted myself off.
"My schedule is completely open, Nick. You just let me know when you need some…attention…" A blush bloomed across the apples of her cheeks, and she skipped toward the group, leaving me dazed in her wake. I needed a moment to shake the cobwebs free and process that. Heat raced up to my face as the rest of the group enjoyed laughing at the exchange.
"I might take you up on that," I grumbled as I walked into step with my brother. He just shook his head at me as we continued our way back to the building. Things fell back to regular conversations, and soon we piled ourselves into the elevator. We offloaded onto our respective floors, and everyone disappeared down the halls to their rooms.
Rina As the group split up for the night, I couldn't get to my room fast enough. My boldness soon ran away from me, and I kicked myself for what I allowed myself to say to Nick. Around the rest of the group as well, no less. Hopefully, it would all be forgotten in the morning until AJ grabbed me by the belt loops of my jeans.
"Hold on there, cowgirl. What's with you and Nick?" He backed me up against the wall with a Cheshire-like grin. I looked down at the carpet sheepishly. The only answer I could give with any certainty was a shrug. AJ wasn't accepting this as an answer, though, crossing his arms across his chest and awaiting further explanation. I sighed, took him by the shoulder, and asked him to come into my room. I didn't want to blast this tale to everyone in the hallway. Once inside the room, I plopped on the bed with a sigh. AJ sat at the foot of the bed and gestured with his hand that the floor was mine.
"So back in TNA, I met both of the Jacksons in 2009 and 2010. They were working with the Guns then, and Caly had a short fling with Matt. We spent a lot of time together, and back then, at least, Nick had a bit of a puppy dog crush on me." I looked down as the blush bloomed across my cheeks again. "I thought he was the sweetest thing ever, but I was in a relationship. And seeing him again gave me feelings I didn't know were still there. At least on my side."
"Oh, he is still a puppy for you. He couldn't take his eyes off you, not from when we met with them. And it's maybe cute; I think he'd be good for you." I stared at my best friend in wonder. No way he could still have feelings for me! A good, sweet, kind, and gentle soul like that couldn't possibly be interested in a misfit like me. I shook my head in disbelief. AJ ruffled my hair. "We'll see. I'm sure you won't be able to pretend not to notice for long. Just try to enjoy yourself here, alright?"
"AJ, thanks again for inviting me along," My best friend got up and went back to his room, and I laid back on the bed. AJ's take on Nick and how he felt about me replayed in my head. I hadn't noticed him staring, where I certainly had with Marty. At that moment in the restaurant, I bumped into his hand, and we locked eyes, but that could be a fluke. Curling up on the bed, I pledged to be more aware in the coming days.
Nick The following day I woke up and decided to accompany Matt on his morning jaunt for coffee. I didn't drink the stuff often, but I knew she did. And as luck would have it, she was already at the station where the coffee was. I quickly straightened out my sleep-rumpled shirt and smoothed back my ponytail. Matt watched this with an entertained smile on his face. He went over to the station and casually bumped Rina with his shoulder.
"Good morning," He greeted her. "Not sure how I feel about someone beating me to the coffee," She laughed, throwing her hair back out of her face.
"Morning. You'll have to get up early to beat me to coffee, Mr. Jackson." She turned around and rested against the corner of the counter. "Oh, good morning to you too, Nick!" I could feel my cheeks heat up with her noticing me and sounding so happy.
"I had to ensure my big brother stayed on his best behavior while searching out the solution to his caffeine addiction." I teased as he looked back at me with a scowl.
"Spoken like a true younger sibling," She said, toasting me with her paper cup.
"Oh, no wonder you guys get along so well. Annoying younger siblings." Matt quipped with a smirk.
"No wonder you're so uppity, stuck-up older siblings," Rina responded, not missing a beat and giving a smirk of her own. My brother and I burst out laughing as we moved away from the counter and towards a seating area in the corner. Rina followed us as the rest of the group shuffled along from the elevator bay and joined us.
Rina Settling into the overstuffed chair, I felt very much at ease with the group around me. I could get used to this, I thought. I brought the warm coffee to my lips with a smile and inhaled its aroma. Oh yes, I could get used to this...

Blue Ain’t Your Color - Ch 1.
Diving into my first hockey fiction!! This is an alternate universe where my OC, Sabrina ‘Rina’ McMahon meets the Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby. This is set starting at the 2022 All-Star game week. I mashed up some of the All-Star rosters to make it work. She’s almost 42, over 20 years into wrestling and hasn’t found a happily ever after yet. She’s almost resigned herself to just never being enough. But one person also knows how that feels, being all business and nothing else in your life.
Edge and I sat in the back of an Uber headed toward our hotel on the Strip in Las Vegas. WWE had offered a field trip for Superstar representation at the NHL All-Star Weekend, he was a huge hockey fan and jumped at the opportunity. They wanted a female Superstar, and while I wasn't exactly a hockey fan, I was interested in exploring what their all-stars did. Any excuse to spend time with an old friend too was just the cherry on top.
"I didn't know you liked hockey," Edge mused from beside me.
"I don't," I replied, looking up from my phone. I met his surprised expression with half of a grin before returning to my e-book.
"Then why did you volunteer for this?" He asked with a laugh.
"To hang out with you, silly. And you know I like new adventures." I shoved his shoulder before swiping my thumb across the screen to turn the page. He nodded as the car came to a stop and we got out and collected our bags. As usual, we were stopped by a few fans for photos and autographs before making our way into the hotel. How we had managed to snag rooms in the players' hotel, I would never know. However getting to see Edge looking like a kid on Christmas morning, and picking out players he recognized was more than worth it. I held my hand out to him, and when he didn't notice, I grabbed his phone.
"Hey!"
"I'll take pictures, I got you, Adam." I smiled at him as he went over to a man in a black and yellow jersey.
"Excuse me, Sidney Crosby?" Adam asked him politely before offering his hand. "I'm Adam Copeland, a big fan of your play, sir." Mr. Crosby nodded with a smile before shaking hands with Adam. "Could I bother you for a picture?" He gestured over to me with his phone held aloft already. I gave it a little wave.
"Not a bother at all," Crosby said, flashing a smile as the two posed together. "Does your friend want one too?" He nodded in my direction.
"Um, Rina? D'ya..."Adam looked over at me, confused, but I was already skipping over and dumping off both his phone and my own. Where Adam's 6'4 frame eclipsed the hockey player, he dwarfed me around 5'6 on a good day. Mr. Crosby offered me his hand politely as well.
"Sidney,"
"Rina, pleasure's all mine." I gave him a good, firm shake before posing beside him, my head around his shoulder. Adam clicked off a few photos before handing me back my phone. "Thank you for your time," I said to Sidney, looking up at him again with a smile. He waved it off with a chuckle.
"So what are you two doing here, All-Star weekend?" I nodded, twirling my hair back up into a ponytail and clipping it into place.
"We're with the WWE, so they sent some uh, Superstar representation. We'll be posting on social media about our experience and have fun," I added some air quotes around the word superstar since we weren't the real stars here this weekend in Las Vegas. Sidney nodded, processing what was likely gibberish to him. "They call him the Rated-R Superstar, Edge and I'm Sabrina McMahon," I added in some context. "Some wrestlers use their real names like me, or not like Adam,"
"I'm a big hockey fan, grew up in the Toronto area," Adam chimed in, likely having finished posting the photo with Crosby. Sidney nodded, looking back at me as I also posted a selfie showing how short I was in comparison to a large crop of players nearby.
"I should've borrowed Loubies from Nattie for this trip," I quipped after posting photos.
"Why's that?" Sidney asked.
"I'm so short in comparison to people around here. And y'all aren't even on skates yet." He raised an eyebrow.
"Y'all?" I grinned sheepishly.
"Some things you just can't shake. Can take the girl out of the south, but not the south out of the girl. I was born in North Carolina."
"And for as much time as you spent in Canada, you have not gained a single thing." Adam teased.
"Not without lack of trying. Although I do enjoy Tim Horton's over Starbucks. However, nothing beats Dunkin'."
"See now you're just a New Englander. Regular Masshole."
"Oh go fuck yourself, Adam. No Boston slander. I don't even know anyone on the Bruins. Just the Pats and Red Sox." Sidney couldn't help but laugh at the interaction. Not that I blame him, we were entertaining at the moment. To my surprise, he put one large hand on my shoulder and turned me about a quarter of a turn.
"That's Patrice Bergeron, he plays for the Bruins. And Brad Marchand should be around here too. There, now you know some Bruins players." I looked up at him with a small smile.
"Thanks, who's standing there with Patrice?" I pointed discreetly in the direction of a large bear of a man with rusty red hair and stubble, next to who had been identified as Patrice.
"That's Nathan MacKinnon, he plays for the Colorado Avalanche. He's injured though, so he won't be playing in the game." I turned a little bit more.
"What about this guy here, looking like a European male model than a hockey player." Sidney let out a laugh at my assessment.
"That's Timo Meier, he plays for the San Jose Sharks. He's from Switzerland, so you're correct on the European part. He's speaking with Joe Pavelski, he used to play for the Sharks but now is part of the Dallas Stars." I was taking mental notes, trying to remember so many names and teams that were new to me. An idea hit me with a bolt so I spun back around and dropped to the ground. I was rummaging in my small roller bag as Sidney followed me. "Everything okay?"
"Yep, just getting prepared." I pulled a small steno pad out and a pencil. Standing up again, I began scribbling notes about each person I'd been introduced to visually. It was Adam's turn to laugh.
"Always a student of the game," He observed.
"No matter the game either." I looked up with a smile. "Who else is here?" I looked at Sidney expectantly with my pen at the ready. The smile that came to his face was breathtaking. I could feel my heart thunder in my chest as I took in his handsome face. Chocolate eyes accented in amber, dark curly hair, and the faintest touch of stubble on a very strong jaw. Oh no. I was in trouble.

Unexpected Reunion - Ch 1.
Tumblr media
A/N: I was inspired by @let-me-love-you-loki and her amazing fics and I decided to write out the fictions I wanted to, for me. This is an AU pairing of my main OC Sabrina ‘Rina’ McMahon and Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks! I also tried going back and forth between perspectives for the first time!
TW: Marty Scurrl is mentioned as a background character only, I don’t intend to mention him in further chapters.
Always looking for feedback, and I hope you enjoy it!
Nick
Seeing her again, I felt like a giddy 21-year-old all over again. I remembered meeting her and the Machine Guns. Caly met Matt, and they were a thing after she dated Shelley. Rina. Rina dated Sabin for what seemed like forever, but they called it quits too. I never thought I would see her again after we left TNA, but now we were sitting across from her on the public transit system in Tokyo, Japan. She was tucked up on her seat, reading from a paperback book, and curled against AJ Styles. They had been best friends then, and clearly, that was the same. She had seen his New Japan career since she had just left TNA and was at a career crossroads.
The feelings in my stomach were just as strong, and it scared me how deeply I still felt for this woman who barely knew I existed. Matt smacked me in the chest with a knowing look, stupid older brother senses. I’d been staring. Again. I wasn’t the only one, though. Kenny seemed interested or at least curious. They didn’t know each other at all. After the eager conversation died, she dug out her book and sat cross-legged, resting against AJ’s shoulder. Their lips moved, and I couldn’t hear them, but it appeared they were having just a regular conversation. She slipped her phone out and tapped the screen a few times before tossing it into her purse with a dainty growl.
“Him again?” AJ asked loud enough to gather the entire group’s attention. Rina let out a big sigh as she turned the page in her book before closing it around a worn ticket stub bookmark.
“Mhmm. Delusions are powerful, especially ones you’ve believed your entire life.” She cracked her neck and sat upright, and stretched her legs. I studied her movements, how she held and moved her limbs, and the utmost grace she carried herself. Everything about her marveled me.
“You never did tell me the whole story,” AJ goaded her with an elbow.
“Randy and I were born a day apart. I was born on March 31st, and he on April 1st. Our fathers thought this was somehow cosmically connected; why else would two wrestling families have kids one day after the other, right? That it somehow meant we were destined to be together. Randy believed that lie our fathers told us from day one, whereas I never did. Even now, as a married man with children, he doesn’t stop. I hoped with the first marriage he would. Now we’re on the second, and it’s like I can’t escape him.” She shuddered in what could only be hatred. The others all shook their heads and returned to their devices.
Rina
I can’t believe I just shared my stalker life story with AJ and a handful of men I didn’t know well on the Tokyo bullet train. I stood up to finish stretching, turning around to face the group and holding onto the rail as I felt the stretch deep in my back. Their eyes studied me, likely thinking I was crazy. Of course, I was, I grew up in a professional circus-style life, and it’s the life I chose for myself even now at nearly 35 years old. Could you call this a midlife crisis? Or just unsure of what road to take next? Who knew. I was looking forward to some good Japanese food and maybe try a glass of sake. AJ had found new life and heights in Japan, and I was only too happy to join him to see what it was like.
It was surprising to see the Jackson brothers all these years later. Matt is still a smart ass and almost as obsessed with coffee as I was. And then there was Nick. How he looked at me gave my heart butterfly wings and hovered in my throat. Sweet, crystal blue eyes and a baby face should be on some winged marble statue. He was also delightfully goofy and light-hearted, obsessed with basketball despite not clearing 6 feet in height. Their other friends I didn’t know, Adam Page, Marty who was far too flirty but then again, he was British. Kenny was quieter, but his blue eyes were bright and observant. He was buried in a Japanese video game magazine; clearly, he had adopted Japan more than the rest. I saw a few other Japanese wrestlers on the same train, nodding hello in recognition. Returning to my seat, I sighed and let my head fall to the bench. Maybe this would be rejuvenating for me as well.
Nick
I wish I knew how to make her feel more at ease. Or how to make her smile, forget that Randy guy who bothered her. She wore black jean leggings, a faded pink t-shirt, and an oversized Disney Tinkerbell hooded sweatshirt. Her hair was faded purple and blond and hung in a loosened braid over her shoulder. Her head tilted to the side as she dozed off to sleep.
“Do I need to stick your head in a cold shower?” Matt demanded once we were sure she was asleep. I chuckled; perhaps if I let myself continue to study the curves of her chest and legs, he might need to.
“Not yet,” Matt shook his head as he never did understand why I felt so much for her. She was nearly a decade older, not exactly the type of girl I was known to go for. Sabrina McMahon was opinionated, stubborn, sometimes loud, and could be pretty vulgar. She was also maternal to a fault, caring, wise, and possibly the most intelligent person I ever met. She idolized her older brother the way I did mine. She was likely crazy, but in pro wrestling, we all were. And I was still head over heels for her. As the train slowed to a stop, AJ shook her awake and helped her up. We were all half-dead on our feet and trudged our way to the hotel.
In the quiet of the elevator, I caught those big blue eyes of hers and couldn’t stop myself from grinning like an idiot. She smiled at me back, and a hint of pink bloomed on her cheeks. I looked down at my scuffed sneakers to avoid breaking my face with a somehow even bigger grin. Having watched the little exchange, Matt shook his head. The elevator dinged, and we all piled out and scattered to our rooms. We’d meet up in a while for food, as was tradition, and I could only hope she’d join us.
Rina
After stumbling into my hotel room, I carefully removed my shoes and dragged myself to the bathroom. A long hot shower was in order, and then hunt down some coffee. I plugged my phone in and turned on some music as I let the water run to temperature. I remembered catching Nick’s eyes in the elevator and feeling like a teenager. Get caught staring at your crush. I felt my face heat up and looked away, silly woman. He was 25 to my almost 35, like he would want someone like me anyway. I pulled my hair out of its plait, peeled off my travel clothes, and finally stepped into the cascading shower.
A short while later, happily clean and feeling somewhat human, I made my way down to the lobby, searching for coffee. I had seen a cart around here, and my nose was keen on the hunt as I bumped into Matt Jackson. He had found the cart first, and I was delighted to have found him at this moment. He poured two cups and gave me one with a small smile. We toasted and enjoyed the caffeine treat as the rest of the group formed around us.
“Now, two of them need coffee,” AJ remarked.
“Ooh, you betcha, Mr. Styles their sir,” I teased in an overly pronounced Canadian accent. I stuck my tongue out at him, and he returned the gesture. A laugh went through the group as it appeared I would get along with everyone just fine. “You need two things to keep Rina happy and not complaining. Coffee and food. Either of these offerings will keep you alive; take notes, boys. Chocolate can be deployed in emergencies.” Marty and Kenny both made fantastic pantomimes of taking notes on their phones.
“Matt can’t function without coffee. Find him, and you’ll always find coffee. Now, regarding food, any of us can help you there. Everyone ready for our usual welcome meal?” AJ was a de facto leader. Everyone nodded, myself included. Food was always a welcome idea. We wandered down the street to this restaurant tucked away in a corner. The food smelled delicious, and I appreciated the English translations besides the kanji. The staff seemed to know the group as they took two corner tables and shoved them together. Soon everyone was laughing and sharing stories from the last tour. Sipping on coke, I ordered some dumplings and satay or kebab things. The others all called different things, and we exchanged promises of bites of this for that. I was wedged between Marty and Nick as I waited for a spot in the conversation and scrolled through photos on social media. I kept glancing at Nick; I could feel his presence beside me quite acutely. His khaki cargo shorts, gray tank top, and hair pulled back in a ponytail. He felt warm, and my hand would accidentally touch his leg or arm. Cramped quarters made not touching someone impossible. I was also aware of Marty on my other side, who attempted to stretch without noticing his arm slide behind me.
Nick
I was going to chicken wing Scurrl if he didn’t stop. He was typically quite flirty, and I usually didn’t mind, but when it was Rina, I did. I know I had no reason to be jealous or even have a leg to stand on to tell him to stop. My heart seized when I felt his fingers on the back of the booth, and I gritted my teeth to push the thoughts away. She wasn’t mine, and anyone could flirt with anyone. But Marty was suave and British and could have any girl that walked by. Why did it have to be her? I was used to never being able to get the women as some guys could; I was awkward and goofy. So when Marty tried to put his charm into overdrive on Rina, it ground my gears.
However, I knew I couldn’t and shouldn’t say a thing; I couldn’t show my feelings this way. Especially not knowing how she felt, either about him or me. I could feel Matt across the table, inventorying my reactions. Staff soon brought the food to us, and the concentration shifted to eating, which I was glad for something to do with my hands. I could look down and see her leg, now sheathed in regular jeans and pressed against mine.
Rina
Once the food arrived, the atmosphere lifted just a bit. I gave Marty a look, and he slid his arm back carefully. I was grateful I hadn’t need to express myself verbally, as that could have made the table awkward. I looked up and saw Nick smile just a little, and it sent my heart fluttering again. I wanted to stare into those eyes like the reflecting pools, those lovely eyes, and long eyelashes. To get lost in them, maybe even be in the circle of his arm’s embrace, leaning against his frame and staring up into those impossibly blue eyes. Our hands bumped, and we looked at each other sheepishly; he smiled and mouthed sorry. My eyes darted down with a smile before I felt AJ gently nudge me under the table. I looked at my best friend; he had a questioning look, followed by a smug-ass grin.
I bowed my head as I felt my cheeks heat up again. This would require an explanation. After dinner, we wandered the ward to keep awake and get our bodies used to the time change. The guys would be stopped for photos and autographs, and I went blissfully unnoticed until someone needed help getting a picture taken.
Nick
I couldn’t get the look on her face at dinner out of my head. Our hands had touched, and our eyes met, and at that moment, I thought maybe she liked me too. She blushed and looked away, bowing her head and redirecting her attention. I noticed her sneak looks at me after that, the pulse racing in my ears as I would think of her thinking of me. Thankfully we had to walk around to get our bearings and stave off a food coma. We stopped at a small cart, and she got an iced drink. The stall owner smiled at her and gave her a bright blue hairpin that was part of the display.
“Arigato,” She said sincerely and pushed the pin into her bun. The stall owner said something about her beauty putting aside all flowers; they were undoubtedly correct. Kenny pointed out some of the scenery and told myths and legends of the area. She listened rapturously, sipping on her hibiscus tea drink. The conversation lulled again, and I found myself walking beside her.
“So, how do you like it? Here in the ward,”
“It’s beautiful. I’d always imagined Japan would be magical, but I had no idea how much so. The stories, the people, the food.” She spoke animatedly, even using both hands after tossing away her empty cup. I could hear her go on about anything and everything under the sun. “I don’t know how I could ever want to leave at this point,” She and I locked eyes again, and I swear the world around us ceased. I could feel the breeze fluttering the leaves and hear our friends chatter and laugh, but all I could genuinely see was her. Her lips, stained rosy from her drink, slightly parted. How badly I wanted to taste the fruit of her kiss. Or even take her in my arms at that moment.
Rina
Somehow the talking between us ceased; I know I had been rambling, but the way he was looking at me, I had never seen another person look at me that way. Not lustful, but wondrous. I had the urge to throw myself into his chest and be held and looked at like that. My mouth was suddenly parched, and Nick Jackson was the only water that appealed to me. He was such a sweet soul, so goofy and light; he looked like the perfect angel that the heavens had created. As they always do, the moment was shattered by our friends as Marty threw a small football and hit Nick square in the forehead.

I was wondering if you'd do an imagine thing for me? I was thinking something like Emmett Cullen from twilight being gay and me(slender gay ginger) being his newborn mate and we are on our honeymoon after just getting married, and he's very excited about the physical perks and is persuading me to join him in bed Haha Rosalie doesn't exist in said fantasy if that's okay :)

Little drabble inspired by this fake text post by @imaginetwilight: http://imaginetwilight.tumblr.com/post/127130005777/requested-by-anon-fake-text-jasper-asking-the
—-
Looking over my study guide for biology, my eyes were drawn to the buzzing cell phone beside me. It was a text from Jasper.
‘Mornin ma'am, might I trouble you with a question?’ I could hear his slight Southern drawl in my head, oh how his manners made me smile.
“They don’t make them like him anymore,” I quipped as I set my pencil down and picked up the device. 'Of course, good sir. To what do I owe this pleasure?’ I saw the little thought bubble pop up soon after.
'Are you busy on May the 14th?’ The question mark jumped from the screen to my face. Such a seemingly random date, almost three weeks away. For some reason it rang a faint bell but I couldn’t for the life of me recall why. I wracked my brain, and I suppose Jazz was anxious for an answer. 'Doll?’ He prodded, I chuckled a bit at his persistence. His love for me made me feel so very special. Jasper, the “youngest” to the human-free diet and therefore the most tempted by the very human blood in me; pledged himself to never harm a hair on my head because his love for me was stronger than his hunger.
'I can’t think of anything, dear.’ Again the thought bubbles appeared.
'Would you do me the honor of accompanying me?’ A date with Jasper, an occasion I could never turn down.
'I would love to, will there be refreshments?’ I was curious to see if this was a human or vampire function.
'For you, I believe there will be. I will be out of luck though.’ Definitely human then; the date kept flashing in my mind’s eye like a neon sign. It was irking me that I could not place why. Though anything with Jazz and I spending time together was enough for me.
'Alright, yes I will.’ More thought bubbles appeared as soon as my answer was shown to be delivered.
'Wouldn’t you like to know the occasion first?’ Okay now he got me thinking.
'Should I be worried about it?’ I was starting to get slightly concerned until his answer showed up.
'No, not at all. Alice would like to help pick out your dress though.’ Dress? I was usually more of a casual girl, so why would I need to… My wheels were spinning like tops now, trying to piece the puzzle together.
'Dress? Is this a formal event or something?’
'Why yes, yes darlin. The formal event of the school year, I do believe.’ As Jasper fitted the missing piece in, I began to dance about the room.
'Prom? Are you taking me to prom?!?’ I asked giddily for confirmation. I could see the smile break across his face in my head, he was so handsome when he smiled. 'Yes, if you’ll have me that is,’ As if there were any doubt about that!
'Yes yes yes! Oh Jasper I can’t wait!’
'I can’t wait either darlin’
