I’d like to request a Tommy x May one shot for prompt 15 “If you’re in pain, so am I.” I loved them so much in the show and was so sad when they didn’t work out. I’m curious what it would have looked like if tommy chose to be with May over grace 💕

It was almost night when May Carleton decided to call it a day and leave the Epsom. She had been there all day for the race, but the race had long ended and she was still there, stuck to the unlikely idea that Thomas Shelby could stick to his words for once and fulfill his promise to her. That he’d come back to her, that he’d find her like he said he would. Of course he wouldn’t. He was most likely on his way to Grace Burgess that very second, making May break her own promise to him. That she would win him over.

Rewinding the encounter she had had with Grace at the bar left a bitter taste on May’s mouth, and after an entire day waiting for Thomas, it was time to face the truth and go home. He wouldn’t choose her. Even the horse had Grace’s name.

May started walking between the shadows, head lost in her own thoughts when a strong, familiar voice beside her cut the silence like a thunder splitting the skies.

“Going somewhere?” Her head turned to the side abruptly, eyes falling upon an ocean of blues that hid as many depths and shadows as the night above them.

“Dear Lord, you scared me!” May exclaimed, hand to her chest as she tried to regain her breath. She struggled to make sense of his sudden appearance, of what it could mean; she couldn’t allow herself to have hopes, because one thing she knew about Thomas Shelby is that he never did what people expected him to do.

“What are you doing out ‘ere so late?” Thomas questioned, fingers already on his pocket to take the cigarette case out.

“Nothing,” May said simply. There was no way she was going to let him know she had been waiting for him. Thomas could have many things already, but May still had her pride. They started walking in silence, until her eyes landed on the wound he had just above the right side of his face and she stopped on her tracks. There was a trail of dried blood up until his cheekbone, and May’s heart started bumping in her chest in a concern she did not want to be feeling for him. It was foolish to worry about such a dangerous man, and yet she did. Because Thomas Shelby had never been dangerous to her. “Thomas, where did you get that?”

“Get what?” He asked bluntly, cigarette hanging from his lips as he watched her. She rolled her eyes and brough a hand to his face, soft fingers touching his skin lightly.

“This.”

“It’s nothing,” he made a motion to continue walking, but May stopped him and put herself in front of him.

“It’s not nothing. Does it hurt?”

Thomas just stared at her, taking the cigarette from his lips and gesturing with it at her at the same time the smoke danced around them. “Does it matter?”

“Of course it matters,” May stated gently, chocolate eyes trying to get a taste of his ice ones. “If you’re in pain, so am I.”

“I’m not in pain, May,” Thomas brought a hand to her cheek, carefully letting his fingers trace over her jaw. “And you still haven’t told me what you were doing ‘ere. Waiting for me, perhaps?”

“No,” May declared, feeling as if he’d tell the lie straight off her tone. Thomas was a man that read people like books, but only those who interested them, and May couldn’t help but wonder if she was one of them. “What about you? You left so abruptly. Where did you go off to?”

Thomas opened his mouth to speak but May beat him to it. “Wait, let me guess… business.”

“Business indeed,” Thomas agreed, a puff of smoke escaping past his lips and into the cold night. “Can you also guess why I came back?”

“I wouldn’t dare to,” May admitted, stare dropping to the floor for a second, until she felt his fingers on her chin, gently lifting it up so her stare could find his.

“I came back for you, May. I told you I’d meet you later, that I’d find you. I’m a man of my word.”

“Debatable,” May replied, not knowing how to feel at his words or how to tell her heart to stop beating so fast for a man that could only let her in slowly. “What about Grace Burgess? She was at the races today.”

“Grace is in the past.”

May stopped walking again, arms protectively folded against her chest.

“And where am I, Thomas?”

“Wherever you wanna be in, May. My present, my future…” he shrugged. “That’s up to you.”

“You don’t leave anything up to anyone, Thomas,” May retorted, her tone sadder than she intended. Her eyes averted his, until she heard him take a step towards her, throw the cigarette away and take her face in his hands.

“What’s bothering ya, eh?”

“Nothing,” May said once again, but somehow the more she talked the more it hurt, and her tone got sadder and her throat tighter, and of course Thomas noticed, because he noticed everything.

“Look at me, May,” Thomas demanded, hands still on her face. “It’s not nothing. Tell me.”

“Why?”

“If you’re in pain, so am I,” he threw her previous words back at her with serious eyes, and suddenly May knew he was telling the truth. “So tell me.”

“I met Grace at the bar today,” she ended up saying, studying his face for any shift in his expression at the mention of Grace’s name. Nothing. He was still just staring at her as if she was the only person he was seeing. “She was waiting for you too.”

“So that’s what you’re upset about, eh?”

“I’m not upset, I’m…” May bit her lip, bringing her hands to Thomas’ wrists as his fingers continued caressing her face. “You gave the horse her name.”

“Yes, I did,” Thomas nodded, thumb following the outline of her lips. Then he grabbed her hands and brought them closer to him, to his chest. She could feel his heart beating, and for the first time she felt it beat for her. “The horse has her name. But my heart has yours.”

French Court had never been as alive as that night, with echoes of vibrant laughter and riveting music reverberating in the walls of the golden ballroom. Nobles from all France had come to the celebration and the royal family had made sure everything was as perfect and as magnificent as it could be, and indeed the noblemen seemed rather impressed, if not by the food and decoration, certainly by the rich wine and the graceful women flaunting their dresses and dancing happily in the center of the room.

The atmosphere was one of beauty and splendor, to the point where you were starting to think that even the stars in the sky outside would want to come inside to join the celebration. Or perhaps that was just the wine talking, you thought as you grabbed your sixth or seventh glass from a silver tray nearby.

“(Y/N)!” Lady Lola exclaimed as she watched you taking a long sip of the drink. The excitement of that night had replaced the blood in your veins with the sweetness of the wine, a much needed experience as you had lost count to how many noblemen you had talked to and rejected that evening. The only one you were interested in wasn’t there, off to fulfill some duty as King's Deputy as always. “Don’t you think you’ve had enough to drink for the night?”

“No, that lord over there has been trying to court me all night and he’s coming this way right now so…” you trailed off, bringing the glass to your lips again. But before the man could approach you and you could find another excuse to avoid him, you felt a shadow being casted over you and saw your friends Lola, Kenna and Greer exchanging rapid, meaningful glances.

“What?” You asked them, but instead of their answer a soft voice fell upon your neck, your spine protesting in gentle shivers when his breath fanned your ear.

“(Y/N), may I speak with you for a moment?” You turned around abruptly at the sound of that voice, almost bumping into Sebastian as he had leaned into you to talk over the loud music. You tripped over your own feet and felt the walls and the floor dangerously quavering as your head spun. Almost instantly Bash’s careful hands grabbed you, keeping you in your place as his green eyes bored into yours. They looked like those multicolored marbles kids played with in the gardens. “Are you alright?”

“Y-yes,” you stuttered, unsure if you were more stunned by the alcohol in your system or his sudden presence in front of you. “What do you wish to speak to me about?”

“Come,” he asked, tangling his arm in yours to drag you away from the confusion. You found a calmer spot by the entrance of the room and rested your back against the cold wall while trying to decipher what other treasures were hidden behind the emeralds in his eyes. There wasn’t a single part of you that didn’t love him, and yet you had no idea if there was even one of him that loved you back. “It’s about last night. I saw you leaving Francis’ chambers, and I’d like to know why.”

You rolled your eyes at him and scoffed. “Oh God, I’m too drunk to have this conversation right now. Can it not wait until like… never?”

“(Y/N)”, he called, and even if his stare was urgent there was a softness in his tone he rarely ever used with anyone but you. “Are you two together?”

“What?” You snorted, still feeling the taste of the wine in your tongue as blurry dots started to invade your vision. “You know Francis loves Mary.”

“What about you?” He asked, and his voice was now lower, almost insecure. “Do you love him?”

You brought a hand to your temple and massaged it, trying to ease the dizziness you were feeling. Alcohol could be intoxicating, but nothing compared to Bash.

“As a friend? Yes. Nothing more. Why do you care if I was leaving his chambers?”

“For nothing,” he answered, tone contained and veiled. There was a sudden urge in you to touch his lips with yours to see if you could make the veil fall. You knew he wasn’t telling you the whole truth. “I just care about you, that’s all.”

“As sweet as that is, I think you’re jealous.”

“I’m not jealous,” he countered. “I just need to know if there’s something going on between you and Francis because if there is I’ll need to… protect you. A King’s mistress is always—”

“I’m not his mistress!” You exclaimed, raising your voice. “I told you, there’s nothing going on between him and me.”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you,” Bash said sincerely. “I just can’t think of any other reason as to why you’d be in his chambers.”

“You can’t?” You raised an eyebrow, suddenly tired of hiding it, of carrying all those feelings inside you and not letting them out. “Well, I can. It was supposed to be a surprise, but since you’re so curious and stubborn, I’ll tell you. I’ve been meaning to plan a boat trip for you, and Francis’ been helping me with it.”

“A boat trip? For me? Why?”

“Because I like you!” You blurted out, not even feeling flustered for finally admitting it. “And I wanted to do something special for you. To thank you for always being there for me. There, now you know.”

“I…” Bash brought his thumb to your face, caressing your cheek in the most delicate of ways. “I like you too, (Y/N). Very much.”

“You do?”

“Yes, how could I not?” He smiled. “But I’m not sure I deserve all that effort.”

“Of course you do!” You rolled your eyes at him. “Even if you ruined the surprise.”

“I’m sorry,” he chuckled, “I promise next time I’ll trust you.”

“Good,” you said, and then a playful smile bloomed from your lips as your hands grabbed his. “But if you were so jealous about me leaving Francis' chambers... how about I pass by yours tonight?”

Bash stared at you, red painting over his cheeks before he relaxed and gave you a dazzling smile.

“I’d love that,” he declared, then offering you a small smirk and leaning towards you to whisper in your ear. “But I don't think you'll want to leave my chambers anytime soon.”

Here you’ll find a guide of the types of request I do in this blog. Please make sure to read the rules before requesting, and also check the list of fandoms and characters I write for. If you have any question, don’t be afraid to ask!

Ficlets / drabbles / one shots

A ficlet is a short story of about 1000 words, though it might be shorter or longer depending on my inspiration. It is similar to a drabble, though this one is usually shorter and around 100 words. A one shot is basically a short story, but longer than drabbles and ficlets and can be very detailed.

How many characters: one or more, but please specify which characters you want and from which fandoms

POV: second if it’s reader x character ; third if it’s character x character or oc x character

To request a ficlet/drabble/one shot you’ll need to tell me: character(s) + fandom(s) + idea/scenario + ficlet

Example: I’d like to request a ficlet of Bucky Barnes learning that female reader is in love with them while they’re fighting on opposite sides of a battle.

Gif imagines

A gif imagine is a piece of writing that usually starts with a gif and in which the character reacts to a certain imagined situation that was requested. They are usually not very long, but can be detailed.

How many characters: one or more, but please specify which characters you want and from which fandoms

POV: second

To request a gif imagine you’ll need to tell me: character(s) + fandom(s) + idea/scenario + gif imagine

Example: I’d like to request a gif imagine of Thomas Shelby meeting a long lost friend during the war.

Headcanons / would include

Headcanons and ‘would include’ scenarios are short lists made up of my ideas and thoughts about a certain situation/about how a character acts in a certain situation. They’re usually short and written in bullet points.

How many characters: one or more, but please specify which characters you want and from which fandoms

POV: second or third

To request a headcanon/would include you’ll need to tell me: character(s) + fandom(s) + idea/scenario + headcanon/would include

Example: I’d like to request some headcanons for Geralt of Rivia listening to Jaskier singing in the shower while he’s trying to sleep. Or: I’d like to request a ‘Dating Yennefer from the Witcher would include’

Preferences / scenarios

Preferences are scenarios of multiple characters reacting to the same situation or that explore what the characters would do in a certain situation. They might come with a gif for each character followed by a paragraph about how each character reacts to the given scenario.

How many characters: various (can be from the same fandom or from different fandoms), but please no more than 7

POV: second or third

To request a preference you’ll need to tell me: character(s) + fandom(s) + idea/scenario + preference

Example: I’d like to request a preference of the Umbrella Academy siblings (Allison, Luke, Vanya, Five, Diego, Klaus, Ben) meeting and befriending a new kid (male reader) at the house.

Prompts

Promts are short stories that I write and in which I must include lines (the prompts) that you’ve taken from the prompt list. You can also request prompts that are not on my list and/or that you’ve created. Prompts can be long and detailed.

You can send up to 3 prompts max.

How many characters: one or more, but please specify which characters you want and from which fandoms

POV: second if it’s reader x character ; third if it’s character x character or oc x character

To request a prompt you’ll need to tell me: character(s) + fandom(s) + dialogue line(s) + prompt

Example: I’d like to request prompts #1 “I love you” and #2 “stop tickling me” with Even and Isak from SKAM. Or: I’d like to request prompt “I can’t hear you over the sound of my own heart” with reader and Raven from The 100.

Song requests

Song requests are when you give me a specific song or specific lyrics from a song and I have to create a scenario or story based on or inspired by them. You can also send me your specific ideas and scenarios about the song/lyrics, though this is optional.

How many characters: one or more, but please specify which characters you want and from which fandoms

POV: second if it’s reader x character ; third if it’s character x character or oc x character

To request a song imagine you’ll need to tell me: character(s) + fandom(s) + song/specific lyrics + optional ideas/scenario

Example: I’d like to request an imagine with the song “Heaven” by The Neighbourhood, specifically the lyrics “You got me shaking like a seizure, no mistaking that I need ya”. With Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter! Or: I’d like to request a ficlet inspired by the song “Meet me on the battlefield” by SVRCINA and in which the DC heroes fight the villains.

Ships / Match-ups

Ships or match-ups are when you give me detailed information about yourself and I pair you up with a character that I think goes well with you. Rules

Please read before requesting! If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

What you can request

I do all types of requests such as ficlets, drabbles, one-shots, gif imagines, headcanons, would include, prompts, preferences, etc.

Here you’ll find the requests guide and how to request each one.

When requesting

Please request via ask box and only when requests are open.

Please include the character(s) and/or fandom(s) you’re requesting for as well as the type of request you want (headcanon, imagine, preference...). The more specific and detailed you are with your request, the easier it will be for me to write it. However, keep in mind my ideas and vision may not always match yours.

If you don’t specify what type of request you want but I like your idea, I might still write it with the type of request I think suits the idea better.

Please make sure to specify if the request is a reader insert, canon character x canon character or oc x character.

If you want a particular pairing (female x female, etc) or gender/pronouns used, specify that as well. Unless stated otherwise, all reader inserts will be written gender neutral and with Y/N (”your name”).
