Recently I found out that the creators of Cressida, @gravityfying and @paneyneygirl have accused @chibicmps of stealing their ideas and designs when creating her starco child, Luna.  At this point I have yet to determine whether these accusations are true or false but some of my followers have expressed concerns about the situation and informed me about it.  

Originally I didn’t think much of it and realistically in my opinion I didn’t really care.  Accusing someone for plagiarism in a fandom is a bit of a stretch.  When the fandom was small, all STARCO children kind of looked the same.  Some of them were basic designs that basically had Star’s hair but colored brown like Marco’s.  In the beginning there were also a lot of starco kids that had spades on their cheeks.  You don’t see much of them anymore but there were definitely starco kids that looked a lot a like. So when I was informed that people were accusing others for stealing ideas I was kind of shocked.  I was shocked because it became such a big deal when it shouldn’t have. 

Now I’m not going to focus on the accusation but in sum, I don’t really care whether plagiarism did happen or not.  We all are a part of this fandom and we all will share similar ideas at some point.  You need hard evidence that proves that they are exact copies and if your evidence are heavily based off of opinion and not fact then… can you really accuse someone for stealing?

Now, there are a lot of different ways you can go on with this but I wanted to know for myself what was going on.  I extended my hand to @gravityfying and unfortunately haven’t received much information from them regarding the situation but I did extend my hand to @chibicmps and I was able to have a conversation with her. 

At first I looked and studied her art.  I’m not going to lie, the fact that they both draw in the style of SVTFOE made it very difficult to differentiate the two as artists at first.  Line work, colors and overall composition helped me separate them but I can see now why people might think instantly that they are copies of each other in some way.  Dress designs, character designs tend to overlap but each of them have their own twist to it so you can argue that maybe they both think the same way.  Now after doing my research and studying/comparing their art I had a conversation about her situation.  It seems as though apart from the accusations @chibicmps has also been experiencing hate comments.  As many of you know who stay up to do date with me on here, I have had my fair share of hate comments.  Many of them accused me for being lazy and selfish and one time they called me a lazy ugly filipino.  I’m completely against hate comments but the type of hate comments that aggravates me the most are the ones that demand you to die.  @chibicmps informed me with proof of her hate comments and at least one of them have asked her to die already.

And this is the reason why I’m writing this unfortunately long post.  I can’t believe that there are people that think stealing ideas is good enough proof that you are a human being that deserves to die in this fandom.  During season 1, this fandom was cute, supportive and innocent.  All we wanted was to have fun and draw SVTFOE. To know that after a few years, this fandom has stooped this low to wish others to end their lives is extraordinarily disappointing.  How would you feel if you got messages from people wanting you to die?  Would you be okay with that?  I know I wouldn’t.  I would feel less of myself and I can tell that @chibicmps is feeling that right now. 

I don’t care who is right or who is wrong but I do care about their well being.  I would never want someone to feel pressured in this way and I hope you do too.  I hope that the creators of Cressida, @gravityfying and @paneyneygirl know that their fans are taking this way too far.  That they are doing what they believe is the right thing to do for their favorite creators and they wish to destroy @chibicmps as much as possible.  Please take responsibility for your community.  If this is your community then it also defines who you are.  They will only act this way if they saw their creators act just as aggravated and frustrated.  

Yes, you can argue that as an artist with a following, you have no control over everyone or anyone but you do have control over your influence.  For some reason your followers think it’s okay to act this horribly disrespectful.  Please say something publicly to stop them. No one has the right to be that cruel to others and I hope you can change their minds.  

At this point, I still don’t know whether @chibicmps truly stole their work but I can say, there are apparent similarities but not enough to say it’s exact replicas.  If you think that I am wrong in any of my statement, please contact me directly and I’d be happy to discuss it with you.  If you think I was manipulated in any way to post this, then the only thing that inspired me to bring out my voice was the fact that this fandom became cruel.  

All creations are accepted in this community and if you don’t agree with it then don’t support it.  Just leave it alone and support your favorites.  

Please don’t attack, either @gravityfying, @paneyneygirl or @chibicmps.  If you got a problem, then talk to them calmly and respectfully.  Learn first then make a judgment. Don’t just assume or believe things you hear.  Learn everything and research it all yourself before you make a judgment. And when you make that judgment call, I hope it doesn’t require you to threaten someone’s life.

Nothing confirmed yet, but Louis C.K.’s (another actor accused of inappropriate behavior) limited lines on Gravity Falls have already been re-dubbed. So there’s that.

Alright, she might not be dead or done. It wasn’t clear. But we can all agree that wouldn’t be the worst thing ever, right?

You will be missed, but not that much. We know Angie (and very likely Rafael) is coming back later in the season, and Janna is only becoming a bigger character in the show.
