The best spring / summer 2015 trends for women over 40
by SYLVIA
Spring is almost here so high time for our seasonly trends report!
Get ready for a relaxed 70s vibe with soft flowery fabrics, suede and mildly swirling pants. Or go the complete opposite direction with more tailored looks that embrace the waist or play with asymmetrical lines.
There is something for everyone this spring. Here are some of the best and most wearable trends for women over 40 to embrace this season!
1. Bring on the blues
Blue is making a comeback. There was plenty of denim but blue was also present in flowing dresses, skirts and jackets. The blue trend was a very noticeable streetstyle trend during the recent fashion weeks. I would not say it replaces black (since black and white was very strong as usual) but blue will be a great alternative for black this season. It is usually a much better color to wear for most women than the harsher black.
2. Be squared
Gingham was particularly strong but designers have been very creative in creating all kinds of other squared looks. Who knew that they look so good with flowers as well?
3. 70s vibe
The 70s were a big theme for spring. Lots of bohemian chic looks featuring flowery patterns, fringes and tassels, bell sleeves and flared trousers.
4. The fluid fit
Those who like comfort will love the fluid fit trend. Clothes are not oversized but are bigger than tailored looks. So don’t be afraid to add a little slouch to your tops, pants and dresses! Be mindful of creating a good overall silhouette though.
5. Midi skirts
Not everyone’s favorite trend but skirts were mostly long on the runway. Midi skirts can work really well so long as you pay attention to proportion. Often you will want a higher fitted top with this look. It also works well if you opt for an asymmetrical hemline.
6. Big bold florals
Bold prints make a statement and they are especially good for hot summer nights. I love wearing (bolder) prints on skirts. You still get the fabulous print without overwhelming you too much since you can combine it with a plain white shirt on top.
7. Belted!
Belts were used to give the more fluid clothes more structure and a waist definition. Karate and obi belts were used but also simple rope type belts.
8. Shirt dresses
Shirt dresses are both casual and chic and since many come with sleeves, will be so easy to wear!
9. All over white
Not for everyone, but I love the all-over white look. It feels so fresh and modern to me. You don’t have to stick to the same color white either. Feel free to play with combinations of cream and off white and have fun layering!
10. Asymmetry and vertical lines
Asymmetry is still strong and I have included it in this lineup again since I feel it’s such a flattering look for women over 40. It creates great vertical lines and adds more interest to an outfit.
11. Wide cropped pants
Another trend where creating the right balance within your outfit is of utmost importance. That often means shorter jackets and tops or combine with a long vest as shown at the top left.
12. Flats!
Many of you will be happy to know that flat shoes are making a comeback as many designers showed them on the runway. Other shoe trends include gladiators, solid block heels, mules, and booties continue to be strong too.
Other trends include:
All-over denim
Polo style shirts
Green military jackets
Sporty luxe
Black and white
Stripes
Wearing skirts over pants.
As you can see, there is something for everyone this year. The key is to pick those trends that speak to you and mix them with your own unique style.
I always think it’s a good idea to get at least a few trendy items each season, as it keeps your style current, young and fresh. One or two items can already add a new spark to your closet.
I will revisit most of these trends in the coming months to show you how to wear them and what to buy.

Spring 2015 Hair Trends: The GLAMOUR Guide
by Rebecca Cox
Trend: My little pony
The ponytail trend is going nowhere, and SS15's direction is clear; the low ponytail is king. Wear yours tied loosely at the nape of your neck with a colour matched elastic or slick and glossy for an evening look.
Add crimped sections throughout for added texture. This will be a great look for festival season.
Trend: Casual braids
Give your locks a SS15 update in minutes by adding tousled mini plaits to the bottom section of your hair and securing with clear elastics. For an evening braided look section off the hair into three or four parts from the front of your head and loosely plait back into an undone up-do.
Trend: Accessories
Accessories are in for SS15, choose from pretty floral garlands or simple scarves to suit the occasion.
Trend: Wet-look locks
Get set for spring showers with a slicked back wet-look up-do. Not for the fashion faint-hearted.
Trend: Simply skin
Spring/ summer is all about showing off fresh skin and clean make-up looks, so keep it simple with swept back parting-free up-dos.
Trend: Texture
From seriously backcombed up-dos to flyaway waves, your hair has never been more wind proof. Add crimped sections for volume and style with salt spray.
Trend: Half & half
Our favourite SS15 look? The Valentino half up, half down centre parted style.
Trend: Wave it
Let hair dry naturally for a touch of flyaway movement, or if you've got poker straight locks tong sections at random and brush out to create loose waves. Old fashioned rag rollers are good for creating relaxed curls.
Trend: Up and away
This season's up-dos are all about twists, so pull hair into a high bun or create a series of smaller twists down the centre of your head for a bolder style.
Create a triangular parting at the front for an on-trend up-do update.
Trend: Short cuts
The bob rules supreme for SS15, but while you choose a shoulder-skimming one length cut, a choppy cropped style or a grown out style? The choice is yours.
Trend: Fully fringed
Neat full fat fringes are out for SS15, to be replaced with piecey, swept over and choppy bangs.
Trend: Off-centre partings
This season's prettiest looks are all about letting your hair's natural beauty shine through, so if your locks are happier with a side parting, Let It Go
Trend: Down the middle
Having said that, the fashion favourite centre part stays strong for SS15. From elegant down-dos to relaxed low ponytails, simplicity is key.

Top 20 trends for Spring/Summer 2015
Khaki
Since it first hit the runway over 40 years ago, khaki has become a fashion classic, returning this season with a bang. Appearing in varying styles for a number of fashion houses, we saw suede khaki pieces at Chanel's feminist protest, while Marc Jacobs offered sexy, military silhouettes and Ralph Lauren opted for Out of Africa, Safari-style glamour.
From left to right: Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren A trend also seen at: Gucci, Michael Kors, Sonia Rykiel
Hippy deluxe
Stepping straight out of 1970s Marrakech, these long, light and flowing dresses will billow in the breeze this summer as you take on the elements in style. This season, the luxury bohemian trend, inspired by Talitha Getty's iconic hippie-chic look, took to the runway in powder pink silhouettes for Alberta Ferretti, kaleidoscope motifs at Etro while Claire Waight Keller toyed with lace and pleat effects at Chloé.
Jumpsuits
From fighter pilots to technicians, this season, designers took inspiration from the world of industry, to create fashion-forward utilitarian looks. At Dior, Pucci and Ralph Lauren all-in-ones and jumpsuits were given a couture edge with accessories such as leather belts, scarves and statement jewelry, as well as extra long zips and straps with oversized buttons. Swapping the warehouse for an art gallery the jumpsuit is set to be the uniform for the chic and sophisticated next season.
Next season denim makes its return to the runway, reinvented in faded blues and a range of textured effects, to take on a persona that shifts between good-girl bourgeois and sex siren on her day off. From more conventional end of the spectrum, first prize goes to the little Gucci dress for the carefully pulled-together cowgirl look, the Burberry trench that awakens the codes of British style with its contrasting suede panels, while Tommy Hilfiger's patchwork ensemble spans the denim color palette, with stitched-together square jean pieces.
Like the Romantic heroines, the girls at Valentino, Chloé and Louis Vuitton were dressed in delicate fabrics that played on the transparency of ethereal white lace. The intricately worked fabric delicately unveils bare skin, lifting a veil of desire on the runway.
Nautical
Fashion Week took to the coast for next season, as a sea breeze swept over the runways in Milan, New York and Paris. From the oversized coat at Lanvin, a yachting-inspired dress at Chloé and Marc Jacob's nod to the sailor's uniform, the designers set sail in search of new horizons for Spring/Summer 2015.
From the shiny leopard dress by Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent to the ultra-short, lurex effect one-shouldered dress seen at Isabel Marant and head-to-toe shine at the Tom Ford show, from Paris to New York the runway geared up for an all-night party this Fashion Week. These 1970s metallics are a sure-fire way feel sexy under the disco ball.
Ballerina
Whether it was the lasting impact of Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan or the revival of classical dance which influenced the designers this season, undoubtedly the long tutu skirts seen gracing the runways were inspired by ballerinas. With Giorgio Armani, Valentino and Alberta Ferretti all offering silhouettes evoking a look part-way between a prima ballerina and a vestal virgin, the elegant tulle dresses were classic red carpet designs, perfect for the red carpets of the Oscars awards ceremony. To deliver a glammed-up twist, the designers swapped the ballet shoe for pumps, heels or gladiator sandals laced up to the knee.
Mix & Match
With pieces in silk, cottons, patchwork prints and materials as wells as an array of different colors, the runway resonated with modernity as eclectic looks and conceptual silhouettes took centre stage.
From left to right: Maison Martin Margiela, Marni, Marc by Marc Jacobs A trend also seen at: Jean Paul Gaultier, Versus Versace, Proenza Schouler
Sultry sheer
The go-to color for effortless chic, whether worn as a little black dress or elegant evening wear, black is the ultimate style armor, especially when it toys with the art of suggestion. This season we saw Bottega Venneta experiment with suggestive style as the house presented a little black dress, boasting see-through inserts. Dolce & Gabbana offered a sultry black dress with expertly designed cut-outs, while an alluring all-black silhouette took to the runway for Michael Kors.
Mixing, contrasting and stitching together of fabrics in principal seemed surprising, but designers show their flair for the eclectic for Spring/Summer 2015, bringing together vintage fabrics, unexpected combinations of prints and textures. The proof is the incredible fabrics at Dries Van Noten, the graphic foliage and florals at Maison Martin Margiela, and Prada's eastern evocations.
As a nod to Bianca Jagger's white tuxedos, designers set about experimenting with the codes of femininity through black and white suits. Adding a Seventies twist, the trousers transform into flares, tops become longer and more minimalist at Giambattista Valli and Céline and all are accessorized with a statement necklace for an uptown girl look, straight from the 1970s.
Feathers and fringing in deep and glossy blacks, hung delicately from the pieces at Balenciaga, Fendi and Proenza. It was an ode to the shadows of the night, evoking images of the black swan who flees the scene of the crime with a flapping of her strong black wings.
Bold red
From the vibrant patent and matte red stripes at Louis Vuitton, to red-hot Comme des Garcons creations and the contrast of a flash of bright blue and red at Miu Miu, the fashion houses mirrored the effects of a striking red lipstick or perfectly manicured red nails, sending bold silhouettes down the runway for next season.
A simple print which has retained its impact over the years, the polka dot burst joyously onto the runway this Fashion Week. Worn on everything from a slightly faded strapless mini at Marc by Marc to a conceptual 3D design at Junya Watanabe, or dotted regularly across a Dolce & Gabbanna dress, the polka dot's only condition is to be worn exclusively in black and white.
Many years have passed since women first conquered the male wardrobe, so this season the designers were keen to return to the codes of masculine suits, bringing a touch of sexy, adrogynous style to contrast the more feminine looks that graced the runway. The trend reveals itself in the asymmetric cuts seen at Anthony Vaccarello, the strong streetwear edge at Sonia Rykiel and the against-the-grain, tennis striped fabric at Maison Martin Margiela.
Pop art
This season saw an intriguing combination of influences from Roy Lichtenstein, one of the world's leading pop-artists, Mondrian and Sonia Delaunay. With circle motifs, bright colors and bold, intersecting stripes the collections were a truly vibrant display. From Junya Watanabe's statement skirts, to Loewe's paneled dress and Dries Van Noten's playful layering, it's clear pop-art is no longer restricted to museum walls.
Worn all-over or a as a single piece, mesh is this season's answer to graphic sportswear. Banded across the chest on a top or a dress, the sheer fabric gives a suggestive allure, partly revealing and partly concealing what lies beneath.
An ultra-refined palette for maximum optical effects was the choice of Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy, Anthony Vaccarello and Olivier Rousteing at Balmain, for a deceptively minimalist yet effective look, which shows its complexity in the combinations of materials, studs, zips, matte and gloss finishes.

21 New Ways to Wear A Summer Scarf
SARAH WEST ERVIN
Bored with all your old tanks and tees? Hankerin’ for a shiny new collection of summer dresses? Well, before you replace your warm weather wardrobe, try refreshing your existing pieces with this one simple trick: summer scarves. Just one craftily tied scarf can make a simple outfit look and feel brand new! And if you’re smart about adding a few choice neckerchiefs, pashminas, and other prettily printed fabric squares, you’ll lengthen the life of your wardrobe without taking a huge chunk out of your wallet.
Plus, they’re fun! Mix up your morning routine and flex your sartorial creativity by finding new, unique ways to wear your scarves, from the tried-and-true neckerchief to headbands, belts, and even bracelets. Scarves have the added bonus of saving you from a bad hair day. If you don’t have time to style (or even wash) your tresses, just turn one of your large, square scarves into a cover-all headwrap.
Argument for scarves: - They’re an affordable way to refresh your wardrobe. - They’re the kryptonite to bad hair days. - Their accessorizing potential is boundless. - And, quite simply, they’re cute and fun. Argument against scarves: - [crickets] Well, there you have it. A completely objective, scientific examination of the facts. Scarves are good for you.
To begin your summer scarf journey, be on the lookout for vintage scarves at your local thrift shops and vintage markets. Finding cheap, high-quality vintage scarves is ridiculously easy. I also recommend hunting for new handmade ones—there are gobs of hand-painted silk, hand-dyed cotton and artist-illustrated screenprinted scarves on Etsy that are positively drool-worthy. Once you’ve built up a happy collection, test out some of the following scarf tying techniques!
Just remember the golden rule of scarves: There’s no wrong way to wear one.
1. The Axl Rose
Channel your inner rock god by folding a bandana into a wide band and wrapping over long locks.
2. The Tiny Cape
Hand-painted silk scarf available for purchase from Armenia on Silk.
Flex your fashion superpowers with a silk scarf draped gently over your shoulders. Bonus points for Miranda July curls.
3. The Neckerchief
For when your neck is a little chilly but you still wanna look like a boss.
4. The 9 to 5
Make Jane Fonda proud with a long thin scarf tied in a bow under your best collared working shirt. (’80s bonus points if that shirt has Peter Pan collar.)
5. The Boy Scout
Any floral bandana looks great dressed down with a casual tee and shorts.
6. The Yacht Knot
Give your long, pashmina-style scarf a fresh summer look with a low front knot and a loose, breezy dress.
7. The Hat Bandit
Get creative by turning your scarf into a hat band and adding various pins for extra snazzy.
8. The Oscar Wilde
Go big or go home.
I think that’s an Oscar Wilde quote or something. …
9. The Waist Cincher
The scarf-as-belt trick is not for amateurs. Don’t try this at home unless you’re prepared to dish out some serious sass.
10. The Frenchie
If you’ve got a dainty little vintage scarf that’s too small to tie, gather it with a brooch or ring.
11. The Neck Bustle
Wrap and wrangle however you see fit! The bigger and messier, the better.
12. The Psychedelic Esmerelda
Go full-on retro hippie chic with a bandana head-wrap in a bright floral print.
13. The Grey Gardens
Go on. Wear that scarf like no one is watching.
14. The Twisty Turban
For this trendy look, you can fashion a regular scarf into a twisted turban or purchase an easy-to-wear headband.
15. The Faux Pony
Take your bun or pony-tail to the next level by wrapping a thin scarf around it and letting the tails flow free.
16. The Rosie
Never let a bad hair day get you down again. Rosie the Riveter knew what she was doing.
17. The Cold Shoulder
A one-shoulder mushroom-print scarf says to the world, “I do what I want.”
18. The Faux Robe
Add flair to a simple outfit by draping a large, fringed scarf over your shoulders. This appears to be a requirement for attending outdoor summer festivals.
19. The Sneaky Snake Belt
Here’s a scarf-belt option for the laid-back fashionista.
20. The Faux Mermaid
Whether your hair is short or long, you can still feel like a gloriously-maned mermaid with some imagination and headscarf trickery.
21. The Double Top Knot
When one knot just isn’t enough.

5 Easy Ways To Up-Sell At Your Retail Job Without Being Pushy
by Christina Pellegrini
You’ve probably dealt with pushy retail salespeople before.
The ones who make you feel uncomfortable because they keep asking you to buy stuff even though you’ve said you’re not interested more than once.
You know what I’m talking about, right? Perfect, you know how it feels and you know that it usually sends people searching for the nearest exit.
So, if you work in retail, don’t be anything like that.
The challenge is that store management expects you to sell more products, maintain certain performance metrics and put more cash into the store’s till. You can do this without begging customers to buy and spend more by offering them related products or services.
The guy taking your order at the drive-thru does this all the time by asking you if you’d like fries with your hamburger. Most of the time you say no. But sometimes, you say yes. That’s how you get people to buy and spend more. It’s called up-selling.
Effective up-selling requires patience, detailed observation, resilience and some skill.
Get a few more dollars out of your customers by following these five up-selling tips:
1. Get them talking
People love talking about themselves. In my experience, the better the conversation, the longer a customer stays in the store, the more they tend to spend and the greater the chance they’ll become a repeat customer.
Conversation helps build a relationship, showcases your product knowledge and makes the customer feel like you’re their friend instead of a salesperson. How, though?
2. Ask open-ended questions
Get your customers talking by asking them open-ended questions. You don’t want their response to be “yes” or “no” because you can’t learn anything about them, how they plan to use the product or how much they’re able to spend.
This process will reveal products or services that the customers didn’t intend to buy.
If you’re selling athletic footwear, for example, try asking questions like:
What are you planning to use your shoes for? How much are you willing to spend? Tell me about your current pair of running shoes. Do you have any health conditions? If so, which ones? How do you normally clean your shoes?
3. Suggest products your customers need
The answers to your open-ended questions will help you suggest products the customer might need to solve a problem they expressed during your conversation. If you’re suggesting a more expensive product than the one they came to the store to purchase, always explain its features, benefits and why this product is better suited to fulfill their needs.
Not every up-selling story has a happy ending. How you handle rejection can send a message to the customer about how genuine your recommendations really were.
4. Walk customers to the checkout counter
The pathway you take to the checkout counter can present up-selling opportunities too. If you’re helping a guy with men’s footwear, walk him through the men’s clothing department before going to the counter.
The opposite goes for a female shopper. Offer a shopper who is purchasing footwear some athletic socks and cleaning products too. See how up-selling works? If you don’t ask, you don’t know.
5. Close the sale the same way you started it
Remember how bubbly and friendly you were when the customer walked into the store? Act the same way throughout the entire transaction, tell them your name and don’t forget to thank them for shopping at your store before they leave.

2015 SWIMWEAR FOR WOMEN: 7 STYLISH TRENDS FOR SPRING BREAK AND SUMMER TRAVEL
By Niki Landry
Spring is upon us and it’s time to break out the bikinis and sunscreen, and start gearing up for an unforgettable Spring Break. Before you head out the door, I’ve compiled a list of the top trends for 2015 swimwear for women to keep you looking great in and out of the water.
2015 Swimwear for Women
➊ SPORTSWEAR
top / bottom / shorts
It’s all about coverage, support, and comfort. Luckily for girls who are heavier on top, racerback, bralette, and crop bikini tops are very popular and easy to find right now. This is personally my favorite style because you don’t experience discomfort from overly tight neck ties like traditional knot halter-tops. The straps and band are normally flat, and some may even be adjustable enabling a personal fit.
Just because these styles are comfy doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. For 2015, swimwear for women offers many cuts and prints that can fit any personality. These cuts are perfect for water and beach activities allowing you to surf or play volleyball without worrying about falling out of your top. Also, sporty tops can double as an extra bra, making packing light even easier.
➋ RASHGUARD
one piece / top
Speaking of covering up, rash guards seem to be the new hot beach item for 2015 swimwear. I’ve been seeing them in so many patterns and styles that I’m looking for any excuse to purchase one for myself. No longer just functional, water sport enthusiasts can find a shape and color for every activity while still looking stylish.
➌ HIGH WAIST BOTTOMS
bottom / cover up
The high waist bikini bottom has been around the last few years, and it’s still holding ground. Instead of a retro style, look for one in a modern print or with cutouts to add an edge to your beach look. This can be a great alternative to a one piece, showing just a bit more skin. That being said, it is not always a universally flattering cut. You may need to spend some time shopping around and try on different suits to find the perfect shape to fit your body type.
➍ KIMONO
multi color / black
Loose flowy kimonos are a perfect beach cover up for spring and summer travel. If you prefer solid colored swimsuits like myself, throw a lovely printed kimono over your suit to add interest without trying too hard. They also transition well for chilly oceanfront nights. Pair your kimono with a tee and denim shorts for a causal night out or stroll on the beach. This is one of our favorite trends! Swimwear for women is getting more fashionable and functional, too.
➎ WRAP TOP
top / bottom / cover up
The wrap top swimsuit was very popular last year, and it’s back again. This style is usually very comfortable with just a tie at the back, and a bit more coverage around the torso. It can create the illusion of a slimmer and longer mid section, similar to a long line top. I prefer this look in a solid color so it doesn’t distract from the interesting cut of the swimsuit.
➏ ROMPER
multicolor / black and white
I love rompers for any beach or warm destination. They can easily transition from sand to sightseeing with a change of shoes and jewelry. Most styles are non-constricting and super comfortable especially in soft airy materials, making them great for hot and humid areas. Now if it was only easier to go to the restroom…
➐ DETAILS
bikini / cover up
Mesh insets, crocheted fabric, and laser cut materials are available in almost any brand and price point. These popular details can add a twist to an otherwise traditional shape, and sometimes show just a little more skin. For a bohemian look opt for a crochet top, or search for a laser cut bottom to add a more contemporary edge to your swimwear.
Above is just a sample of the trends available for 2015 swimwear for women. No matter your shape or style there is a beach look that would be perfect on your Spring Break travels!

From '70s Chic to Judo Belts: 7 Spring Trends to Start Wearing NOW
Why wait another three or four months before getting in on spring’s biggest trends? (Delayed gratification is very much not our thing.) Instead, we’ve come up with creative ways to work these S/S 15 styles into your winter wardrobe starting today.
Scroll down to see the best of the spring runway trends, along with the stylish pieces you can shop (and wear) now!
ASYMMETRICAL
The modern look was particularly prevalent on the Paris runways for S/S 15, where asymmetrical necklines and hemlines were seen at Valentino, Anthony Vaccarello, and Maison Martin Margiela. To try the trend, look for a dress or skirt that you can wear over tights or pants now, and on its own once the weather warms up.
1970S
Move over ‘90s! This spring it’s all about the ‘70s. From Saint Laurent and Tom Ford to House of Holland, Topshop Unique, and Tommy Hilfiger, glam-rock looks were everywhere. Start easing into the look now with suede and fringe pieces, along with flared, mid-rise pants.
PENDANT NECKLACES
The dainty jewelry of seasons past was eclipsed by big, bold pieces for S/S 15. Reed Krakoff, Celine, Derek Lam, and Armani featured oversized pendant necklaces—just the thing to pair with those ‘70s-inspired pieces.
CIRCLE HANDBAGS
The structured box bags of last season are taking on a considerably rounder shape for spring. Flat, circular bags were seen at BCBG Max Azria, Karen Walker, Topshop Unique, and Marc by Marc Jacobs. This style is a fresh way to make a statement starting now!
UTILITY
Especially on board with the utility trend were designers with more classic sensibilities, like Michael Kors, Gucci, Rag & Bone, Marc Jacobs, Victoria Beckham, and Ralph Lauren. You can easily incorporate it into your winter look, via layered khaki pieces and utility-strap handbags.
JUDO BELTS
Inspired by the far east (think Obi belts), the slimming accessory was seen tied around the waists of models at Dior, Celine, Alexander Wang, Marni, BCBG Max Azria, and 3.1 Phillip Lim. Try your own version over a winter coat to create a fresh, streamlined silhouette.
SHOULDER-BARING
We’re calling it: Shoulders are the new midriff for 2015. The subtly alluring trend was seen via cut-out, off-the-shoulder, and one-shoulder styles at Balenciaga, Chloé, Prabal Gurung, Zac Posen, Marchesa, and Christopher Kane. But bare shoulders in the winter? Sure! It’s a great way to show a subtle hint of skin on a wintery night out. Just be sure to top your look off with a cozy coat.

Spring 2015 color trends.
Each season brings new fashion trends, sprung from society and culture and the ever-turning wheel that keeps style evolving. The trends in colours are much the same: each season of each year setting a spotlight on particular hues that encapsulate the mood.
Looking ahead to spring 2015 (yes, already): what colour will be shaping our wardrobes? Read on to find out.
According to forecasting agency Lenzing, spring / summer 2015 colours will fit under the following 6 sub-trends:
iMade.
“Mending in focus. Show creativity and give personality to the clothing; darning as an embellishment. Re-awakening age-old techniques add value to memory; paying a tribute to quality as you only repair items of worth. Ever rising importance of micro fashion companies producing one-off garments. A fascinating hybrid of personal and general.”
Fragile.
“Airfilled, see-through materials, providing maximal protection of the body. Ephemeral fabrics, new ways of creating net and tulle with laser, and/or mutations of weaved cloth. 3D patterns or shapes growing out from garments in dramatic volume, stylized white flowers.Soft fabrics, set off by more rigid ones, caress the body. An airy, tactile and dreamy universe of feminine lightness”
Riot.
“Vibrating print in clashing colors, graphic and figurative patterns. Preferably on textured fabric, interrupting the surface and allowing two pattern-worlds to interact, creating a third. Obviously contrasts too: areas of difference, in choice of material, techniques, color and cut. Knit-design in counteracting yarns, bristling and bursting the mold.”
Kaleidoscope.
“Material and appearance at the core. Architectural interplay of edgy shapes and refracted surfaces; metallic and shiny, complex and crackled. Constantly moving, busy and quivering. Exploit the field of tension between cutting-edge techniques and materials, and reflections over historical ornaments and elements.”
Anonymous.
“Textile techniques reflecting the network you voluntarily take one step back from. Age-proven weaving and knitting; a haven of core values. Qualities entice feelings of warmth and handmade, even though industrially produced. Checks and stripes, mélange, neps and similar types of subdued effect. The colors of the palette lie on the same level; nothing to strike the eye. All effects serving the same objective: time spent for and by oneself, as a natural part of life.”
Pulse.
“Fantasy, fascination, discovery, adventure – all fundamental in development of new materials. Identify a demand, and there is a solution – detect a phenomenon and implement the result – add value to capacity, environment, production. Color blocking without pattern; pure function to stand out devoid of distracting elements and effects.”

Women’s spring 2015 fashion.
The themes in fashion this spring.
’70s mood
We’ve sensed them slowly working towards taking over the fashion trends this season, but it’s in spring 2015 when the ’70s influences are expected to bloom in all of their nostalgic-infused beauty. Although subtle, the hippie motifs meet the more modern accents in perfect harmony:
1970s fashion at Paul & Joe, Gucci and Prada, SS ’15
Romantic bohemian.
We’re no strangers to the charms exuded by the modern bohemian, yet we can’t help but to look forward for spring 2015, when the bohemian sentiments are reimagined to carry an ultra-romantic aura. Expect an avalanche of flowy, dreamy, irresistible silhouettes:
Romantic bohemian fashion at Alberta Ferretti, Emilio Pucci and Etro, SS ’15
Denim luxe.
Denim becomes a thing of pure luxury for spring 2015, when aside form its rising versatility the fabric gains quite the unique spectrum of interpretations. Embellished, washed out, molded into ladylike silhouettes, or playing out its comfortable core, there’s no doubt that denim goes high-fashion for spring:
Luxe denim at Giamba, Sonia Rykiel and Bottega Veneta, SS ’15
Androgynous tailoring.
As if to set some balance to plethora of silhouettes awash with femininity trending for spring 2015, the androgynous tailoring arises strong and sleek-looking. Never have the masculine influences appeared so incredibly sophisticated and polished as they’re about to present themselves for spring:
Luxe denim at Paul Smith, Prabal Gurung and Sonia Rykiel, SS ’15
Asymmetrical hems.
Sex-appeal took on a whole new shape for spring 2015, in the guise of the unapologetically sensual asymmetrical hems. In either of their super-hot, casual-cool or rather flirty renditions, the asymmetrical hems are ready to spell out the sexy for spring:
Asymmetrical hems at Anthony Vaccarello, Maison Martin Margiela and Costume National, SS ’15
Fringing.
Picking up where it left of in 2014, expect the fringing trend to only gain in magnitude during the upcoming spring / summer season. Dressing up mini silhouettes, adding movement to the richest of fabrics, or breathing new life into the most laid-back of styles, the fringes are here to stay:
Fringing at Giambattista Valli, Sonya Rykiel and Proenza Schouler, SS ’15
Gingham patterns.
Seeing how every season needs its own individual hallmark, the gingham pattern acts as the perfect one for spring 2015. Dipped in the softest pastel tones, the tiny checks do a brilliant job in dressing down feather-weight fabrics that scream of summer nonchalance:
Gingham patterns at Michael Kors, Altuzarra and Boettega Veneta, SS ’15
Luxurious suede.
Next season, suede makes its return to the runway, reimagined to take on a luxurious character and an even richer range of silhouettes. In between daytime dresses, hippie-chic coats and utilitarian jumpsuits, suede has been given a new edge on the runway:
Luxurious suede at Derek Lam, Gucci and Trussardi, SS ’15
Sporty chic.
The athletic-inspired silhouettes are far from meeting the tail end of what has been their beautiful process of evolution. For spring 2015, the sports luxe is ready to indulge in a serious dose femininity, as the sporty silhouettes become more subtle and way chicer:
Sporty chic fashion at Balenciaga, Yigal Azrouel and Lacoste, SS ’15
Skirt layering.
With skirts of all lengths and shapes, wrapping up mini, midi and maxi dresses of all kinds, spring 2015 is about to give us a new lesson in layering. With plenty of exciting possibilities lying in expectation, get ready to see your favorite skirt do double duty come spring:
Skirt layering at Peter Som, TOME and DKNY, SS ’15
Khaki tones.
Popping up everywhere on the runways, khaki in all of its wonderful nuances, is the shade expected to add the needed amount of freshness to the upcoming spring season. From military, to modern safari takes, expect khaki to take on many characters come spring:
Khaki tones at Acne, Yigal Azrouel and No. 21, SS ’15
Heavenly lace.
If it’s spring, it’s lace. But do expect to be fully blown away by it in 2015, as the heavenly renderings that took on the runways look like nothing you have seen before. White, sublime and playing the uniqueness card, lace for spring puts a new twist on femininity:
Heavenly lace at Chloe, Valentino and Givenchy, SS ’15
Sultry transparency.
Worn all over, and barely shielded by a divine print, gorgeous ruffles or a sleek blazer, sultry transparency becomes spring 2015’s answer to blending a timeless sophistication with the art of suggestion. And as expected, the results are breathtaking:
Sultry transparency at Valentino, Chloe and Michael Kors, SS ’15
Flare pants.
With the ’70s signing for such a major comeback in 2015, it was bound for at least some of its signature silhouettes to end up revamping the mood for spring. Consequently, the flare pants became ubiquitous on the runway, dressed in prints and dipped in vivid colors:
Flare pants at Derek Lam, Victoria Beckham and Emilio Pucci, SS ’15
Ruffles & frills.
More of the romantic strings waiting to put a hold on the spring 2015 season, take the shape of dainty ruffles and delicate frills gently adorning both daytime and evening wear silhouettes. Complete with floral prints and exquisite embroideries, the ruffles and frills are to become spring’s next big thing:
Ruffles and frills at Prabal Gurung, Burberry Prorsum and Marchesa, SS ’15
Japanese motifs.
From the Far East comes the influence responsible for bringing to life one of the most cinematic fashion trends for spring 2015. Kimono cuts, wide belts and rounded shoulders complement the exotic feel of the Japanese motifs:
Japanese motifs at Herve Leger, Maison Martin Margiela and Marni, SS ’15
High shine metallics.
Spring 2015 saw the metallic silhouettes go from sporty, to slouchy and to perfectly tailored without ever letting go of their emblematic high-shine. Coming in many precious tones and with various finishes, the metallics appear to be stronger than ever:
High-shine metallics at DKNY, Giles and Genny, SS ’15

THE TOP 10 TRENDS YOU’LL BE SEEING IN 2015 SWIMWEAR COLLECTIONS
by Marisa
Now that Mercedes Benz Swim Week is a wrap, we can sit down and organize our thoughts rather than be doing a thousand things at a time. Don’t get me wrong, the events and the shows were an absolute blast, but it’s nice to take some time out and actually focus on the 2015 swimwear trends that we’re sure to see soon once the collections arrive.
Animal Print Bikinis
One of the top trend that you’ll be seeing in the 2015 swimwear collections is the focus of animal prints. But this year it isn’t necessarily the basic leopard or cheetah print that we saw in 2014. This year there is a focus on the actual animal’s photo itself! Like this Mara Hoffman printed rashguard below. It takes the words “animal print” and transforms them into a completely different meaning.
Animal print bikinis have a tribal, jungle flair that is sexy and fashionable. New and established designers alike are coming up with animal print styles for their swimwear items, apart from the must-have leopard bikini. At The Orchid Boutique we offer leopard print bikinis, monokinis, one piece swimsuits, as well as snake print, zebra print, cow print, crocodile print, and more. Every fashion gal longs for that leopard print swimsuit or bikini that exudes a sexy flair.
A new take on animal prints in 2015 is coming. Keep an eye out for this fashionable trend.
Strappy Bottoms or Caged Bikini Tops
Caged Bikini Tops are one of the hottest trends that we’ve been talking about for months now. We’ve also seen it in some of last year’s collections, the extra thick straps of material. Caged bikini tops offer an amazing benefit of covering up a little more of the rib drift, resulting in an elongated torso. This gives the illusion of a thinner, more-toned core, which is something every woman wants to highlight! Having a side cage swimsuit, or even a strappy bikini, allows for a sexier way to cover up just a little more of your skin without having to wear a one piece. Rocking a cut out swimsuits will be the hot new trend in 2015.
Bralette Tops
Bralette Tops are the go-to choice for the girl who seeks a trendy top that will give her the support and comfort she would expect from a sporty-style bra. They are known for offering a sweet and simple look that is fashionable yet perfect for any activity out in the sun. Like a sports bra, bralette bikini tops typically feature more coverage around the bust with straps that provide added support.
Ethnic Print Swimwear
This up-and-coming trend is wildly showcased with such notable designers as Mara Hoffman and Trina Turk. Ethnic print swimwear uses tribal designs and primitive patterns to take that style up a notch. This year Luli Fama had a ton of ethnic printed swimwear, which when combined with bright colors and shiny embellishments, really put on quite the swimwear spectacle.
Crop Top Bikinis
Similar to wrap tops and bralette tops, the crop top bikini is a must for the girl-on-the-beach-go. At The Orchid Boutique, we carry a wide variety of sporty bra tops that offer maximum support for larger busts, criss-cross straps for optimal control during high-intensity sports, and thicker fashion straps for a boho and chic “cami look” that is trending for 2015. When going for the sporty look, you’re picking out a bikini top that is not the standard. Sporty tops are so versatile that they are good for beach volleyball, swimming, surfing, jogging, and even working out. Leave the fear of your swimsuit falling off behind or the annoying pain at your neck from a string-bikini knot!
Wrap Bikini Tops
This is the trend that has completely taken over swimwear. Wrap Bikini Tops offer an amazing benefit of covering up a little more of the rib drift, resulting in an elongated torso. This gives the illusion of a thinner, more-toned core, which is something every woman wants to highlight! Another great benefit is that most wrap tops are constructed somewhat like a halter, meaning you will get the coverage and support you need for the bust while accentuating your natural curves. They are also completely adjustable, so they are the perfect top option for almost any bust size. Having a wrap style bikini, or even a wrap swimsuit, allows for a sexier way to cover up just a little more of your skin without having to wear a one piece.
Black Swimsuits
Sexy black swimsuits can be worn regardless of the age, era, or season trends. It’s never too early or late to wear a black bikini or swimwear, it’s just like a dress. The great thing about black swimsuits is that they are perfect for every body type. This year at the Mercedes Benz Swim Show, there was an abundance of black bikinis dying to make it down the runway. We love the sleek, chic, sexy appeal of a little black bikini.
High Waisted Pin Up Bikinis with Cut Outs
You know we love high waisted pin up bikinis. It’s always been a huge focus in the brands we carry year after year. The retro style combined with the chic modern flair creates the ultimate swimwear style piece. But now these designers are taking it one step further and adding side cut outs to the high waisted bottoms. It creates a very sexy trend when the hips are exposed, and we all know that when it comes to swimwear, sometimes showing the more skin the better.
Mesh/Crochet Bikinis
The beauty of mesh, or crochet bikinis lies in that adding crochet detail can result in truly original and couture fashion. Our designer bikinis are showered with mesh detail creating a one of a kind piece. Even in ever so subtle measures, crochet swimsuits have an incredible appeal. Crochet appliques in swimsuits and bikinis give the item an extra kick and fashionable flair. Even pairing two crochet swimsuits of the same style side by side will yield different results.
Rashguard
Rashguards are a type of water wear suit, normally made of spandex, nylon, and polyester. They are most notably worn while surfing when the weather is too warm for a wet suit. The rashguards origin? None other than Australia! You can use these trendy rashguard tops to stay out of the sun and keep your shoulders hidden from those dangerous rays. It doesn’t hurt that these long-sleeves tops are extremely trendy!
The upcoming 2015 swimwear collections will be coming out before you know it. We’re so excited to bring you these exciting new trends and looks before anyone else. Consider us your number one source for all upcoming styles this 2015 season. Happy shopping!

THREE IS A TREND: SPRING 2015
by Kerry Pieri
IN PLUME Feathers are making a triumphant return to the runway, in manners both bold and subdued. Erdem went all in on a waxy deep green and blue plumed dress that's all drama—much like the peacock we assume it was inspired by. Christopher Kane took advantage of his London setting on looks that reference monarchs past (way past) on jackets with feather ruffs and waists. Simone Rocha is the most subtle with airy monochrome wisps of feathers on the ends of jackets and dresses that seem to move on their own accord (take flight?)
GET IN A TASSEL While last season's fringe was all about the Wild West, Spring in London is leaning more decorative tassel. At Preen, it was beaded and colorful against black, while Whistles went all-noir for a sleek take on texture and Paul Smith added white at the waist of a chic striped dress. All the better for the dance floor, my dear.
SO TRANSPARENT Spring is an apt time for sheer, but this season is about the embrace of fully transparent pleated skirts. Regardless of shade it's the ideal illustration of sexy and coy-a secretary shape with a boudoir fabrication-as seen at Toga, Joseph and Barbara Casasola. Slip optional.
POLO, ANYONE? Could it be Spring 2015's new crop top? The slouchy knitted polo-buttoned up, or not-has a devil-may-care prep approach that feels like something the black sheep of the richest family at the country club might wear. Surprisingly versatile, the polos at ICB, J. Crew and Hugo Boss are all covetable.
PARKA PLAY There's always room for a structured blazer in a spring arsenal, but there's something athletic-chic about a well-appointed parka. A range of iterations are popping up on the catwalk from an oversized one at J.Crew, to a dress version at Marc by Marc Jacobs and a cool crop at Rag & Bone.
THE WAIST FLOURISH This isn't a case of minimal versus maximal—instead quite simple pieces are just getting a bit "jujjed up," thanks to waist-defining details. Rosie Assoulin calls her trouser accoutrement a "fullet" or front mullet—that extra fabric lends a hit of drama while maintaining wearability. The Row's collection was filled with tie-waist tops and dresses that flatter and move with the wearer for looks that have that difficult duality of volume and shape. Newcomer Rosetta Getty embraces additional fabrication on flowing gowns that also maintain shape thanks to a tie at the waist. It's proof that elegant, statement-making details need not fall under the category of embellishment.
GREAT GINGHAM There are certain hallmarks of the spring season and one has its roots in charming picnic-wear—that particular plaid known as gingham. Eschewing red in favor of black and baby blue—the pattern maintains its sweetness but gets a dose of saucy on cut-outs at Lela Rose, a deep plunge and high slit and Altuzarra and by way of sheer fabrication at Diane von Furstenberg.
THE SLOUCHY TREND While strict tailoring can look very smart, it's apparent that the idea right now is a bit more loose-all the better to leave a wake of luxe fabric behind you as you exit. The latest in that vein is a soft trench to wrap yourself up in, but that can get also caught in a spring breeze. It's all the drama, none of the fuss.
DRESSED UP SKIRTS Why bother with just a dress with you can top it with a skirt? Minis and pencils are doing double duty as extra-chic belting over poplin shirt dresses and even accordion pleat gowns on the runways of Ostwald Helgason, Peter Som and Tome.
SAY IT WITH SUEDE We've been conditioned to understand that leather is now a staple of the warmer months, but designers are softening up a bit now and playing with rich, decadent suedes. Altuzarra took his signature button-down to luxe places in a sandy hue paired with a striped skirt, while Jason Wu's suede went sultry on a deep-plunge high-slit dress and Tibi was seeing green in cool, minimal separates.

Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trends
by Armine K
The spring/ summer 2015 hairstyle trends stun with their diversity, bringing the perfect option for any style and face shape and promising to highlight your best features. Top famous hair stylists styled the hair of the models for the most famous fashion events of the world, showing the most complementing hair alternatives for the biggest spring/ summer 2015 fashion trends, at the same time proving the endless creativity when it comes to innovations and new beauty looks. From the timeless all-natural and highly textured hairstyles to extravagant braids, updos and twists, the 2015 hairstyles show immense inventiveness when it comes to the ways they were presented on the runway. For the most wow-worthy style morph for the new season, make sure you check out the trendiest spring/ summer 2015 hairstyles presented below!
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hair Color Trends
Hair color is the primary detail that matters a lot in the creation of a successful look and a spectacular hairstyle trend. In the new season, lots of importance is given to natural hair tones, while all those stylish hair highlights and lowlights retreat for a while. Let your natural hair color shine bright this season, whether it’s a jet-black tone, warm auburn shade or any type of brown and blonde hair color, as they are all super-trendy this spring. The fans of the blonde hair colors can opt for honey ash blonde, strawberry blonde, platinum blonde, golden blonde or any other blonde hair tone, while those loving the mixture of the blonde with brown accents can try the stylish reddish golden brown, light ash brown, chestnut brown hues and other variations of the classic brown hair tone. To add warmth to your overall appearance try your favorite shade of the auburn and red hair tones, while black hair color alternatives are the best ways of looking mysterious and classy, if they surely match your skin tone and eye color. If you are guided by the common rules of choosing the most flattering hair color for you, the result is always going to be something ultra-natural and trendy, which is what your aim for this new year should be. Natural hair colors were especially well praised at the shows of Emilio Pucci, Chloe, Celine, Chanel, Valentino, Mary Katrantzou, Topshop Unique, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Givenchy and others. Still, if you want to look extravagant you can experiment with slight pastel hair highlights and hair chalks, as spotted at Badgley Mishcka and Maxime Simoens.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 1: Center Hair Parting
Whether it’s about some stylish ‘do or loose hair, primary importance is given to the central hair parting, which made appearance at almost each and every show unveiled for the new season. Except for the cute side parted hair spotted at Tom Ford, Topshop Unique, Ralph Lauren, Jil Sander and a couple of more names, as well as some totally backcombed looks, we mostly witnessed classy and sleek center hair parting at the shows of Isabel Marant, Valentino, Chloe, Dries Van Noten, Dolce & Gabbana, Tanya Taylor, Emilio Pucci and others.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 2: Side-Swept Hair
In line with the uber-trendy center hair parting, the 2015 trendy hairstyles also include side-swept hair looks, since after all the center hair parting isn’t a universally flattering option for every face shape and style. Sometimes being uber-sleek and classy and at times looking careless and cool, side-swept hair was the stylish say of such fashion shows as Tod’s, Max Mara, Philipp Plein, Badgley Mischka, Aquilano Rimondi, Chanel, Jason Wu, Fendi, Jenny Packham and others.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 3: Naturally Textured Wavy and Curly Loose Hair
Casually loose hair is the simplest and the most impeccable way of making a statement in the new season. From the slightly tousled and careless voluminous tresses as we saw it at Badgley Mischka and Jenny Packham to the naturally wavy hair of Misha NooNoo and the romantic waves and curls of Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci, Mary Katrantzou, Anna Sui, Diane von Furstenberg, Vera Wang and others, as well as the overly textured natural medium-length hair of Topshop Unique and slightly elongated bobs of Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford, beautiful curly and wavy loose hairstyles for spring 2015 are super varied.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 4: Straight and Sleek Loose Hair
Being one of the most timeless hairstyle trends, straight and sleek hair is always there among the top hairstyles for each season, be it fall or spring. Straight hair is never far from mind, however, what makes it unique and fresh every time is the right choice of the new hair colors, as well as some small details that matter, including the trendy hair parting option or some small hair accessories. Sleek and straight hair was the thing at the spring shows of BCBG Max Azria, where we saw a center parted option, Victoria Beckham, where a preference was given to the side-swept straight hair, Versus Versace, where the classic straight hair was spiced up with lots of texture for the modern feel, Orla Kiely, where we especially loved the slight wet accents applied to the front part of the crown. Christian Dior, Rodarte and Ralph Lauren also kept it straight, sleek and loose.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 5: Half-Up Half-Down Hairstyles
Being the intermediate variant between loose hair and stylish updos, half-up half-down hairstyles appeal to those looking for the easiest ways of concealing a bad hair day. These effortless and versatile hairstyles make a huge comeback for spring 2015, having made an appearance at the spring shows of Celine, where we fell in love with those minimalist metallic hair accessories, Just Cavalli, which demonstrated the functionality of bobby pins, Thakoon, which mixed this trend with that of straight hair and wet effects, Moschino, which showed us what a real Barbie’s hair is to look like, Miu Miu, where we adored that grungy feel of the feminine wet-look half-up hairstyles, Zac Posen, Valentino, Tibi and others. Especially interesting was the half-up hair version of Chrisopher Lemaire, at the show of which we saw a seventies inspired asymmetric wet-look ‘do.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 6: All Forms of Ponytails
When it comes to the most versatile and coolest spring/ summer 2015 hairstyles, ponytail comes the first on the list. This uber-cute and pretty hairdo has been reinvented, revitalized and refreshed for spring, having been adjusted the way to meet the modern standards and the style demands of even the most capricious fashionisers. Whether you have long, medium-length or short tresses long enough to be put into a stylish ponytail, this hairdo is the perfect thing you can consider in the upcoming spring for looking effortless and chic on a daily basis, as well as for making a big style statement on special events. High or low, that can be an uber-sleek and glossy ponytail like the ones we spotted at Alexander Wang, Roland Mouret, Gucci, Trussardi, Vionnet, Oscar de la Renta and Opening Ceremony. Another mainstream ponytail trend is the slightly textured and careless look we saw at Fendi, Giambattista Valli, Jason Wu and Ann Yee. We also loved the geometrical structure of the ponytail spotted at Cushnie et Ochs, the softly crimped ponytails of Stella McCartney, the textured high ponytail of Hood by Air, the creative low ponytail with a V-shaped parting of Giles, and the wet effect ponytails of Damir Doma and Custo Barcelona, the semi-wet bubble ponytails of Barbara Casaola, and the effortless chic disheveled ponytail of Talbot Runhof.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 7: Crimped Hair
Coming from the deep of the nineties, crimped hair is again uber trendy this spring thanks to the stunning show of Stella McCartney, where stylist Eugene Souleiman added so much texture to the low ponytails of the models by crimping the hair. Emanuel Ungaro presented the seventies inspired version of crimped hair, giving that iconic “waffle” texture to the loose hair of the models. To achieve this look, you either need a hair crimper or just tightly braid your hair and then pass the plaits through the hair straightener a few times. Unravel the braids and enjoy this chic and minimalist hairstyle!
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 8: Wet Effect Hair
That super-effortless and fresh out-of-the-shower hairstyle is powerful enough to maintain its strong positions among the best hairstyle trends of each season. Wet effect hair is trendy this spring too, and we have seen multiple creative interpretations of the trend at various fashion shows. Thus, at Alexander McQueen the models wore imaginative folded wet-look chignons, while at Balmain Sam McKnight bet on maximalism. Giambattista Valli presented the perfect union of texture with wet effect, while at Versace the models looked more minimalist with neatly backcombed wet hair. Wet hair was also the say at Cedric Charlier, Miu Miu, Holly Fulton, Thakoon, Anthony Vaccarello and others.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 9: Stylish Short Hairstyles, Faux or Real
And who said that the spring 2015 hairstyle trends are only about long tresses? Exceptionally cool variations of short hairdos were also spotted on the runway, targeting the bold and self-confident crowd of fashionisers, who know how to make a powerful fashion statement without having long hair. We have stylish wet-look bob hairstyles with a sporty air from David Koma, raw and edgy textured bobs with bangs from Marc Jacobs, shaggy rock ‘n’ roll inspired bobs from Tom Ford, center-parted sleek and straight short hair from Hugo Boss, and casual side-parted short bobs from Topshop Unique.
On the other hand, if you want to experiment with short hairdos without having your hair chopped, you can go for those creative faux short hairstyles that also make a big trend for the new season. This way, you can try the futuristic manga-inspired sleek updo with those spiky bangs from Kenzo for the pixie effect, or the loose faux bob of Issey Miyake with sleek finishes on the crown.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 10: Modern Beehive
For that charming retro vibe reminiscent of Brigitte Bardot’s style, think beehive hairstyles this spring, especially when they are available in a myriad of variations. Thus, if looking super-sleek and elegant is your aim you can go for the beehive updo of Corrie Nielsen, however, if channeling your inner Barbie is what you want to do, try recreating the half-up beehive hairstyle spotted as Moschino.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 11: Elegant Updo Hairstyles
We can hardly do without those overly classy updo hairstyles, especially when there is some important event scheduled ahead. The spring/ summer 2015 hairstyle trends feature a vast variety of classic updo hairstyles, ranging from the sleek looks to slightly undone and relaxed options for the romantic feel. We love the bow-shaped neat low chignons of Altuzarra, the flower-embellished low chignons of Dolce & Gabbana, the soft rolls and chignons of Christophe Guillarme, the jewel-adorned updo of Bottega Veneta, the futuristic folded chignon of Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera’s sleek ‘do, the windswept look of Emporio Armani, the side-swept loose elegant chignons of Carmen Marc Valvo and the feather-embellished updos of Undercover. The edgy spiked bun of Ann Demeulemeester is just one options for those, looking for something outworldly and different.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 12: Buns, Knots and Twists
Alongside those perfect updo hairstyles, we also have some slightly more casual and effortless looks for those days, when you want to look cute and laidback. Think those relaxed top knots and buns of Nanette Lepore, Phillip Lim, Lanvin, Calvin Klein, Reed Krakoff, Sportmax, the rebellious four-knotted ‘do of Marc by Marc Jacobs and that of Antonio Marras, the punky twisted top knots of Vivienne Westwood Red Label, the knotted updo of Aganovich, and others.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 13: Grunge Braids
Braids go grungy this spring, looking rebellious and bold and targeting the self-confident girls, who love to stand out with their daring style. For inspiration, you can look to the wet-effect dramatic braided ‘do of Masha Ma, Marissa Webb’s braided pompadour, Maria Ke Fisherman’s intricate braids, Gyunel’s mini braided updo, the edgy braided bun of Bibhu Mohapatra, Giamba’s artistic braid used to mark the center parting of the loose hair, the tight crownrows of Jean Paul Gaultier and Giorgio Armani. In the latter case, Roberta Bellazzi used hair extensions in lighter tones than the models’ hair for styling the braids to make the plaits look more expressive and interesting.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 14: All the Other Forms of Braided Hairstyles
It’s not only the artsy and grungy braids that make a statement in the new season, as we have a whole line of braided hairstyles for spring 2015 for any taste and personality. For the ultimate elegant outcome you can consider the braided low buns of Tadashi Shoji, while for radiating a high dose of modern allure you can opt for Laura Biagiotti’s and Suno’s creative cage herringbone braids, Peter Som’s simplistic braids and Donna Karan’s interesting rope braids. We simply can’t but adore the boho chic and casual undone braids of Mara Hoffman and Michael Kors. No less creative are the colorful fishtail braids of Marco de Vincenzo, DKNY’s sporty chic braids with a wet effect, Tome’s minimalist fishtail braids, Vera Wang’s messy plaits worn with textured loose hair, Ermanno Scervino’s braid-embellished updo, the disheveled braids of Baja East, and Aigner’s fishtail braided undo.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Hairstyle Trend 15: Cute Bangs
While the majority of trendy spring 2015 hairstyles spotted on the runway lacked bangs and fringes, there were surely also styles featuring them for adding that sweet vibe to the models’ faces. 2015 hairstyles with bangs range from those perfect classics to ultra-modern looks. Especially noteworthy were the bangs seen at John Galliano, the raw looks of Marc Jacobs, the shaggy Debbie Harry inspired side-swept bangs of Tom Ford, the usper-sleek straight bangs of Givenchy, the bowl-cut bangs of Haider Ackermann and the futuristic bangs of Kenzo.
With their rich diversity and perfect functionality, the spring/ summer 2015 hairstyle trends and trendy hair colors come to be the most ideal source of inspiration for those, looking for ways of revitalizing their looks and adding lots of charisma to their appearances. Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trends
by Rima Kh
Analyzing the basic spring/ summer 2015 fashion trends that have been observed and noted during the recent fashion shows, we encounter an array of super-dazzling, bright and creative styles and fashion motifs ranging from the inspiring retro vibes to fresh and innovative design solutions that take one’s breath away. Thanks to the big diversity of various styles available, creative fashionisers and It girls have all the possibilities to embellish the streets with their fab looks this spring, mirroring the hottest tendencies our favorite fashion designers brought forth in September. So pointing out the most significant and characteristic aspects of spring’s styles, we may speak about these fabulous fashion trends for spring/ summer 2015!
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #1: Romantic Lace and Delicate Laser-Cut Details
The first and one of the most spectacular and beautiful spring 2015 fashion trends that we would like to speak about is the super scrupulous and delicate lace patterns found on a variety of gorgeous and innovative pieces presented by the most popular fashion designers and fashion houses. Thus, if we were to point out the most attractive and appealing options, the list of names would be quite a long one. For instance, we may speak about the super cute and colorful laser-cut lace patterns presented by Valentino especially noting the specific mishmash of the abstracted patterns and the meticulous lace. The colorful solutions were the following noteworthy aspect here. The super gorgeous bohemian take on lace presented by Zuhair Murad is the following, coming up as a basic means for creating transparency plays and curious texture effects with colorful yet mainly monochrome pieces. For some more casual and stylish interpretations you may also have a look at the tops using lace patterns presented by Louis Vuitton. Another noteworthy transparency with lace plays can be found in the show of Elie Saab, where we see the stunning floor length dresses of shades like black and white invading the runway with the all-lace textures. Givenchy doesn’t lag behind, either, presenting some really impressive options of lace patterns. Neither does Chloe coming up with more massive and catchy lace accents used all over the pieces.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #2: Watercolor Prints
The following noteworthy alternatives we may discuss when speaking about the major fashion trends for spring 2015 are the watercolor prints, coming up with gorgeous accents and effects like iridescence covering the whole textures of pieces and creating the basic color plays for them, too. So the catchy interpretations include the colorful options from Chanel, encompassing green, red, fuchsia, brown, orange and other tones with the whole variety of their overtones and watercolor variants. The cute and pastel accents of Cacharel are just another interesting and noteworthy option for our consideration, putting the watercolor accents with the help of calm and soothing tones and achieving just as cute and nice combinations together. The more intense and bright combos by Emilio Pucci can’t be missed out of the list either, thus coming with watercolor accents over stripy patterns of shades like green, pink, purple, and brown. Transparency plays with watercolor accents are the following variants introduced by Badgley Mischka and suggesting some cool combinations with basically monochrome looks or else coming with overtone plays. Victoria Beckham also proved to be on the side of watercolor plays, doing that in a very delicate and interesting way thus picking two basic shades one of them being white as a background, and just playing with the overtones of the other shades for minimalistic yet effective accents.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #3: The School Style
Garments designed with the strict and schoolish accents also managed to catch our attention presenting such interpretations as those of Louis Vuitton. The legendary fashion house managed to add some modern and stylish details to the traditional school looks, thus combining bright shades like orange with the classic forms and colors like black and white, also keeping the forms within the accepted patterns simply slightly experimenting with the lengths of the garments. The cute skirt and top combos by Cacharel despite not preserving the traditional color interpretations also managed to preserve some of the traditional schoolish looks, especially in terms of the pleated skirts and the classic shirts. The super charming and creative design solutions by Olympia Le Tan can also be noted in this list, presenting some gorgeous and youthful combinations made with those slightly reshaped yet schoolish accents especially nicely matching with the headwear pieces like the small retro hats. In addition, the image of a schoolgirl also appeared to be the focus of Marc Jacobs, thus presenting some really revolutionary yet cool combinations, where the accessories like schoolish backpacks were the central elements.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #4: Lacing As the Key to Chic
Details are, in fact, important and the most popular fashion designers and houses nicely prove that for this season, coming up with creative interpretations for such design details as lacing, designed and styled in the most diverse and curious manners and façons possible. For instance, take inspiration from the stunning Givenchy made lace-up details, which apart from accentuating the transparency plays and the unique texture of the pieces also came paired with V-curves, thus creating even catchier exemplars of mysterious and appealing all-black looks. For some more minimalistic interpretations, where the lacing took rather smaller proportions, we can also have a look through the design alternatives suggested by Chloe, in case of which we deal with some tiny yet important accents with the straps again coming for the area of the neckline. The interesting big lacing details used for a number of curiously shaped pieces by Gucci couldn’t miss from our attention, either coming with bright shades and both casual and a bit experimental designs, which really had their significant place for the creation of this trend. Rebecca Minkoff in her turn also presented her versions of lace-up designs using them instead of halters for some crisscrossed combos, too. In addition, we may also speak about the curious and a bit tough variants suggested by Alexander McQueen, in case of which leather appears to be the primary fabric for the creation of strappy plays.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #5: Japanese Motifs
The following noteworthy and spectacular style interpretation that we would like to speak about is the Japanese inspiration, which also played a major role in the formation of the most popular fashion trends of the coming season. Thus, for some vivid examples we may turn to the alternatives suggested by Alexander McQueen, in the show of which we could see some obvious kimono cuts and specific forms like rounded shoulders, all matched with appealing shades and combinations. Other instances also include the shows of Maison Martin Margiela, where the resemblance with the sleeveless kimonos also came up with the specific color solutions and curious prints. Missoni can’t but also be included in the list of those names forming this trend, this time matching the kimono-inspired shapes with the specific transparency touches and nice overtone plays of the one and the same basic shade. Talking about Japanese inspired outerwear pieces, Temperley London is probably one of the first shows that comes to our mind, matching those silhouettes with the specific micro patterns and interesting color combinations. The show by Karen Walker is the following option we would like to speak about, which comes up with slight yet important hints of the kimono cut sleeves for a number of tops and outerwear pieces. Hervé Léger By Max Azria can’t be missed out of the top list, either, since the obvious inclination toward Japanese motives can be clearly seen here, too, presented with a number of colorful interpretations and creative color and pattern synthesis. Finally, it’s the modernized designs by Tibi that we would also like to mention here, coming up with more classic and traditional colors, generally excluding the prints and going for monochrome looks and combos more often.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #6: Denim, Denim, and Again Denim
This seems to be one of the most spectacularly rising and popular details that always happen to occupy the biggest and the trendiest places of the range of fashion motives for any season. Probably it’s all because of the uniqueness and the universality of denim pieces that underlie their success, and again we need to note denim pieces as one of the major fashion trends for the coming spring/ summer 2015 season. Thus, the all-denim interpretations by Stella McCartney are the first looks we would like to speak about here, presented with curious combinations of denim tops and skirts as well as all-denim jumpsuits coming with cropped bottoms and long sleeves. The classy maxi skirts with straight silhouettes presented during the Paul & Joe collection, as well as the sporty and comfy solutions of all-denim pieces from Sonia Rykiel can’t be missed out of the range either. Further come the nice options from Vanessa Bruno, where femininity is the primary focus of the pieces, followed by the chic with comfy alternatives from Chloe, the oversized and chic variants from Kenzo, the more diversified and perfected types of denim outerwear from Damir Doma. No less amazing are the uber classic and creative denim pieces by Trussardi, the sporty shorts and jackets from Dsquared2, military inspired looks from Gucci, the comfortable variants by Burberry Prorsum, where outerwear garments were again matched with denim, as well as the options from ICB by Prabal Gurung, Diesel Black Gold, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela, J. Crew, and Karen Walker.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #7: Transparency Plays
Weightless and super delicate transparent pieces are the following focus of the talented and creative designers for the season thus suggesting the most wonderful and just amazing pieces and combinations that you may ever imagine! The color palette and the shapes being totally diverse and stunning, these pieces really managed to create a separate amazing fashion trend. So first of all it’s all about the uber imaginative and just breathtaking interpretations by Chloe, coming up with monochrome looks, yet very curiously picked textures, designs, and shades. Erdem decided to choose another fab alternative for see-through clothing pieces thus matching design patterns like embroidery with the transparency plays of black chiffon, solving the problem of color combinations and that of the overall design innovation of the pieces. Ralph Lauren is the next fashion designer having picked the weightless and sky-touching design for a number of dresses, again suggesting the monochrome looks yet putting all with the multiple payers of tulle put all around the pieces. Combining pleated designs with calm and soothing color combinations J. Mendel managed to create some really noteworthy alternatives. Badgley Mischka doesn’t lag behind either, thus suggesting using multiple layers of the same fabric like tulle or chiffon colored identically. Of course, when we speak about weightless pieces the traditional light and gorgeous looks from Monique Lhuillier are probably the first things that come to our minds and that’s not in vain, since the newest collection also has some really noteworthy alternatives of the light and beautiful dresses coming with a number of impressive interpretations. Marques’ Almeida, Blumarine, Rochas, John Richmond, Missoni, Alberta Ferretti, Valentino, Zuhair Murad, Ellie Saab, and John Galliano are also included in the list of the most spectacular and noteworthy designs creating transparency plays with delicate fabrics. The uber sheer and gorgeous designs from Roksanda Ilincic, Emilia Wickstead and Marques’Almeida can also be included in the list of the most significant designs combining design solutions like color contrasts, shimmery textures, and color blocking with bright colors.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #8: Artistic Fashion
The following noteworthy design interpretation that formed a whole fashion trend for the season is the principle of organizing the design patterns into curious, quite impressive and colorful looks, most frequently used for pieces like dresses and resulting in the creation of real pieces of art! So this was the pick of such popular fashion houses as Mary Katrantzou, during the show of which we could note the synthesis of several design patterns at once including the transparency plays, the classic color combinations and the mishmashes of colorful images resembling butterflies and combining colors like blue, black, and purple. The show of Peter Pilotto presented another way of matching color contrasts with colorful backgrounds, thus presenting the paisley resembling patterns made with white and coral shades further put on the background of curious and neomodern patterns encompassing shades like purple, yellow, and fuchsia. As for the interpretation from Christopher Kane, classics and touches of minimalism can be apparently seen here, demonstrated with the help of a color trio including black, white, and blue tones, and having black chiffon as a basic background. The images of random knots created with these shades are the other spectacular artsy interpretations that the designers could experiment with.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #9: Wide Leg Pants and Culottes as Renovated Chic
The next eye-catching and quite spectacular spring 2015 trend that we can single out is the renovated comeback of the wide-leg pants and culottes again acquiring the most diversified and spectacular design solutions ever. So speaking about the basic solutions that wide-leg pants come up with for the season we may note such options as the shimmery variants we saw during the Tom Ford fashion show, where the darker tones were arranged into quite interesting design combinations. The design combinations of trendy patterns like stripes with trendy color pairs like red and white also prove to be quite well compatible with the wide-leg silhouettes especially when coming in pair with identically designed long-sleeved and tight-fitting turtlenecks. This is what we discover looking through the collection of Preen by Thornton Bregazzi. For even brighter and more intense color solutions, you may also have a look at the wonderful and super gorgeous options from Antonio Berardi, in case of which the shimmery textures were combined with different tone plays of classic red. Alice + Olivia is the following creator of wide-leg pants, this time matching these designs with all-straight shapes and some cropped shapes, too. As for some inspiration for stylish culottes, browse through the collections of Jil Sander, Marni, Sportmax and Armani.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #10: Masculine Influences
The widest diversity of shirts, blazers, smocking and other masculine fashion inspired pieces used for the catchiest combinations and looks also manage to appear in the list of top trends for spring/ summer 2015, thus marking the perfect renovation of the classic and traditional silhouettes and pieces. For instance, incredibly chic are the curious monochrome looks we encounter during the fashion show of Paul Smith, where the classic patterns like stripes made of gray and black come to join the monochrome shirt dress with minimalistic touches. The matchy-matchy style by Richard Nicolli is the following noteworthy interpretation of this trend, combining the classic blazers with pieces like shorts, finishing all off with the checkered patterns of blue and white. Finally, we may also speak about pieces like the pure white vest + culottes combos from Temperley London coming up with some bolder accents and very interesting design solutions for the whole silhouette. In addition, we may also speak about the gorgeous interpretations of masculine fashion spotted at Paco Rabanne, Jil Sander, Jean Paul Gaultier and others.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #11: Pleated Designs
Pleats are the following uber noteworthy and spectacular design details that we would like to speak about, taking into account the super big number of shows, which had this element as a central design innovation and solution for combinations. Thus, we may discuss the wonderful and sporty miniskirts from Topshop Unique, which came combining classic shapes and shades with bold solutions, as well as the impressive shimmery textures from Barbara Cassasola, the main trick about which is the combination of shimmery and matte textures creating monochrome pairs yet with really catchy texture and silhouette plays. Similar techniques involving some more colors for contrast can also be found in the pieces from Margaret Howell, where one more neutral color is added to the general shade pairs of the looks, for instance, creating combos of gray pleated skirts matched with white shirts and gray jackets. Bold splits are the next interesting match with pleated designs presented by Hermes and picking shades like khaki as the central detail for the skirts. For more feminine and subtle looks you may also have a look at the fashion show of Chloe, in case of which we discover a whole conglomeration of weightless dresses forming really awe-inspiring combos with the pleated designs. For more youthful and bolder variants you may also have a look at the miniskirts suggested by Isabel Marant, where the pleated textures come with an even more diversified color palette. Bright and chic with traditional and classic can also be found in the fashion show of Salvatore Ferragamo. Abstracted design synthesis are also here forming an important aspect in the collection of Antonio Marras, where the color and shape combos really acquire various and multi-functional implementations.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #12: 3D Textures
3D textures form another imaginative and really resourceful design solution that can be noted in the range of the top trends of the season. Such are the suggestions from Monique Lhuillier in case of which we have shades like bright yellow combined with transparent textures for tea length skirts, followed with the golden accents presented by Denis Basso, and finished up with the ethereal black and white shapes also having their significant place for the creation of this trend. The thematically shaded 3D appliqués from Zuhair Murad also have an important place here introducing probably the most feminine interpretations of this lovely trend. The fluffy and cute suggestions from Rodarte are other curious and specific interpretations in this respect. Finally, it’s the catchy and massive florals by Rebecca Taylor that come as the classic variants of 3D patterns, being equally chic and fabulous as the designs that we noted previously. The fashion shows of Vionnet, Dries van Noten and Burberry Prorsum are also included in the list of the top looks. We are especially head over heels with the 3D floral appliqués decorating the see-through designs of Michael Kors and Valentin Yudashkin.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #13: Cropped Tops
The cropped tops and the bra tops are the following never-ending trends for the recent seasons, holding their strong positions for the new spring too. This is the pick of Donna Karan, during the show of which we could see the combo of a pure white bra top and a classic red tea length skirt. The option from Phillip Lim is also quite noteworthy, coming with the shimmery navy blue texture matched with the specific shapes and designs of the pants created with identical shades. The black and white pairs also found their reflection in the range of the trends coming with black bra tops and forming the design focus of Delpozo. The chic alternatives suggested by Miu Miu can also be noted here, coming with 3D patterns, ruffles, and many other specific elements. Sonia Rykiel also has come up with something unique and cool matching the forms of bandeaus with crisscrossed patterns and generally classic shades. However, we may also speak about the colorful interpretations especially well put in the show of Zadig & Voltaire, where the brightest shades are exemplified with the brightest combos of cropped tops. Black and white also have some more design variations forming another alternative of such looks in compositions with cropped tops presented by Balmain. Sporty chic is also here coming with the forms of sports bras for the show of Paco Rabanne. In addition, we can’t but also speak about the transparency plays with bandeaus by Balenciaga, the classic forms of Marni, the innovative long-sleeved pieces from Versace, the brighter interpretations from Fausto Puglisi, the shimmery and uber cool looks from Tom Ford, the strapless cropped tops with florals from Matthew Williamson, the sporty denim looks from Diesel Black Gold, the feminine and chic cropped tops from Carolina Herrera, the minimalistic looks by Louise Alsop, the fluttery options from Issa, the gray with white looks by Sibling, the sheer and subtle looks from Rebecca Taylor, and the classy interpretations by Nicole Miller.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #14: Fringes
Fringe has always been one of the most steady and never changing fashion trends of almost any season, always coming up with some new interpretations and design combinations matching classic shades like black and white most frequently coming with monochrome looks, as well as with interesting texture and shade combinations and overall shape experiments. This season, fringe details get even more powerful, coming with lots of innovation and creative style solutions. Thus, speaking with examples we may note the curious variants of shimmery silver with white fringes by Whistles, the massive and elongated options from Giles, and the all-black looks from PPQ. As for monochrome looks, we may also note the minimalistic combinations from Elie Tahari, the catchy black looks from Osklen, and the asymmetrical designs from Milly, as well as the cool fringed looks from Marco de Vincenzo. Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #15: Checkered Patterns
Checks are the next impressive design interpretations we may speak about especially emphasizing the black and white looks coming with various sizes and proportions in the fashion shows of Oscar de la Renta, where tiny black and white checks were the central elements of the semi-transparent textures, the looks from Diane von Furstenberg coming with bigger sized gingham patterns, and the red with white options from Altuzarra. The suggestions from Michael Kors, Bottega Veneta, Yves Salomon, and Trademark can’t but be noted in the list of the top looks as well.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #16: Stripes
Stripes are the following interesting trend for spring 2015, the most interesting aspect about which is the universality and the unique compatibility of the pieces including classic shapes and uber feminine silhouettes. Generally layering is super cool this spring! Consequently, another interesting and innovative tendency is combining unmatchable pieces with each other for striking combinations, including pairs of shirts and skirts, as well as shirts and dresses. Think creative shirts worn over dresses and skirts as seen at Marissa Webb, or try to copy such looks featuring the amazing color duos of blue and purple from Rebecca Taylor, the asymmetrical designs from Koonhor, as well as the stunning shirt under dress looks from Givenchy, the sheer looks from Rochas, and the bright pinky looks from Olympia le Tan.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #18: Sporty Chic
What Adeam, Alexander Wang and Milly came up with for the season forms another specific and spectacular trend for spring, combining the classic and sporty looks with the renovated forms and colors thus creating some really bright and tasteful combinations. The design interpretations from Kenzo, Viktor & Rolf, Paco Rabanne, Fay, Amanda Wakeley, Pringle of Scotland, and Jean-Pierre Braganza can also be noted in the sporty chic trend. Similarly, we may also speak about the suggestions from L.A.M.B., Lacoste, Alexander Wang, and DKNY forming another creative aspect of such looks.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #19: Shirts With Stylish Collars
Shirts came worn not only under and over the dresses, but also reigned the entire fashion month, coming in a variety of shapes and styles appropriate for different occasions. The strict buttoned-up collars come to be the hottest shirt styles for this spring thanks to the stunning interpretations of Guy Laroche, Holly Fulton, Rochas, Ashley Williams and many others. We also loved the flowing and breezy options of Chloe, the breathtakingly dramatic shirts of Louis Vuitton with high frilled necklines adorned with black ribbons, the collarless options of Mulberry, and the imaginative open-back cropped shirts of Miu Miu.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #20: Asymmetrical Shapes
Asymmetrical shapes are the next curious style interpretation that can be noted in the list of the top spring 2015 trends, coming presented by Valentino, Maison Martin Margiela, and Paco Rabanne. Asymmetrical solutions are especially well demonstrated with the hems, featuring both radical and less noticeable contrasts. In addition, when it comes to asymmetrical necklines, we may also note the suggestions from Versace, Emporio Armani, Costume National, Anthony Vaccarello and Angelos Bratis, in case of which we may note some even more diversified color and shape combinations for more creative and cooler outcomes for the top part of the pieces.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #21: Floral Patterns

Thus they come as one of the major fashion trends once more, acquiring such interpretations as the massive florals of Erdem, the shimmery and a bit minimalized suggestions from Peter Pilotto, and the voluminous and gorgeous pairs of black and golden from Marchesa. Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #33: Creative Cut-Outs, Slits, Off-Shoulders and Plunging Necklines
Generally speaking, there was lots of boldness demonstrated on the major catwalks during these fashion weeks. The desire to reveal skin without looking extravagant led many designers to come up with the most creative cuts, slits, plunging necklines and off-the-shoulder designs for the new season. Especially striking were the cage-like dresses of Balmain along with those daring cut-outs and plunging necklines. Versus Versace demonstrated maximum boldness through so many provocative slits, deep V-necks and cuts. We also loved the creative takes on this trend of Jacquemus, Versace, Sonia Rykiel, Givenchy, Acne Studios, Valentino and others.
Spring/ Summer 2015 Fashion Trend #34: Spring Fur and Feathery Motifs
