still so obsessed with naruto thinking its a normal or satisfactory explanation when hes like screaming and crying and throwing up and being like hey guys no guys you dont get it sasukes a good guy hes a super nice guy hes my friend i trust him no he matters to me guys i know he just threatened to like kill all the kages and just killed a bunch of people but like no hes sasuke u know sasuke my friend sasuke i can fix him and even sasukes like dude whats going on and is like no no i can fix this and sasukes literally trying to break his bonds or something but this bond is some kind of gorilla glue super adhesive unbreakable bond and sasukes like go away and narutos like lets die together romeo and juliet we are no longer uchiha and jinchuriki no longer marked with the fate we carry in life with the powers we are given and the roles we must play and like after all that sasukes like hey what the fuck why are you doing this and narutos just like because youre my friend :) like i dont even think like some people if naruto was just like oh im in love with your or something that would be satisfactory cuz this is qualifiably insane behavior i think if freud got a load of naruto he would invent a new complex

Honestly, ever since becoming a fanfic writer myself I’ve become like 500% more understanding and patient about other authors’ update schedules. An author takes 6+ months to post their next chapter? Yeah, totally get that real life can get in the way. An author abandons a fic? Disappointing, but it happens- sometimes inspiration for a story just dies. An author apologizes about taking so long to post a 10k word chapter? Dude, that’s like 18-20 pages on Word single-spaced. It takes me at least a week to write an essay for school a quarter the length of that, and that’s with a deadline. 

It’s probably the most important thing writing fanfic has taught me, tbh. How to fully appreciate the hard work someone else has put into their story. How important the role of the audience is to an author. And that no matter what, you are never entitled to demand more of a story that you are getting for free.

i just think people don’t focus nearly enough on the fact that naruto literally admits that sasuke saved him from falling into darkness.

naruto saving sasuke it’s a choice/goal he himself chooses and dedicated himself to. meanwhile when he talks about sasuke saving him he’s not even talking about them as genin or anything. he’s referring to back when they were kids at the academy… back when they DIDN’T SPOKE A WORD TO EACH OTHER? do you even get how big that is? if sasuke existing only has that much impact on naruto, it’s no wonder he treats sasuke as his entire universe, making him his priority above everyone including his own needs and goals. it’s no wonder he’s that codependent in him that he would rather drag both of them to the grave than live or die without sasuke by his side. it’s no wonder how there’s nothing sasuke could to that would make him turn from him nor take him out of the pedestal he has sasuke on… it’s truly a level of devotion and worship you only have to your God

Naruto the Last movie is mostly pretty, sometimes 3d is a bit too visible, but it's... Look, Naruto is dense, but not dense enough to mistake love for ramen and food with actual romantic feelings. It feels like for whole movie everyone is trying their best to assure him he loves Hinata lol

Today we're thinking about how Itachi's Sasuke Management Plan was always controlling him through genjutsu, and what that means about Sasuke's lack of free will through the entire series.

"he's the person that, more than anyone else, accepted me and my existence". yes, sasuke was the first to accept naruto, the first to recognize him, the first to understand him.

Since I have recently seen NH shippers complain about SNS shippers by saying we can’t accept they’re not romantic (hah) I wanted to talk a bit about the Last movie.

The fact that Studio Pierrot tried to make Hinata more like Naruto’s heroine by ripping off Sasuke and his bond to Naruto is very telling. Just look at this:

Even with blatantly ripping off, SP didn’t manage to make Naruto’s feelings for Hinata as strong as his feelings for Sasuke were in the original. He didn’t just get mad at Orochimaru, he went 4-tails and lost himself to the point he hurt Sakura. All because Orochimaru said Sasuke is his and Kabuto telling Naruto Sasuke came on his own accord. Naruto hyperventilated and fell to the ground because of the fear of losing Sasuke was breaking his heart. People repeatedly told him to give up on Sasuke and he refused, yet he had to be nudged in Hinata’s direction by several characters.

Final point, Naruto saying he didn’t have anyone whose name he could have written in the paper that he would want to be with is completely false. He wanted to talk to Sasuke and be his friend but didn’t know how to. He literally broadcasted his regret over not reaching out to Sasuke to the entire Shinobi Alliance.

It makes me both sad but also happy because I know I’m right and that the true love story is between Naruto and Sasuke. :) You can call us delusional all you want yet you seem to be quite happy borrowing stealing our tropes.

It is of a paramount intellectual dishonesty to present Sasuke's departure to Orochimaru as some sort of "defection" or "treason" against Konoha, when it was actually a blatant negligence of the village. It was Konoha who failed to protect Sasuke and every single one of Orochimaru's victims by 1) VERY knowingly letting Orochimaru do as he pleased, 2) exposing children to death and foreign attacks by having them fight each other for profit and 3) leaving Sasuke alone and without support after learning he had been targeted.

It is like watching a predator groom and harass a child while you do nothing and then blame the child for it. Peak, disgusting hypocrisy.

We all love to have a good laugh about how conceptually funny orochimaru is as a character. I do enjoy his cunty nefarious scientist slay. But then I remember his existence outside of text posts and what he did to sasuke and it’s no laughing matter anymore we need to kill him
