TFW you’re bored of all your interests but don’t want to get into a new fandom because nothing seems appealing and you don’t want to use all the time and energy you have you spend doing something else. I open AO3 and I don’t know what to search for bc all my fandoms either have a majority of fics I don’t vibe with or are small enough to fit in a thimble.
don’t look at the time sent pls. OML if I don’t read a new good fic soon ima commit a felony

I DID IT
I fucking FINALLY drew Irratino!
Fuck, I think I smudged his face a bit
After nearly 12 entire months later
Yes, those are all Irratino's signatures next to mini him and his icon. Top two are canon, as far as I'm aware
Third one is just me adding something NORMAL to him amidst all the
Esoteric stuff
Who the hell uses two eyes as a signature tho
We don't talk about how awfully skinny Logico's legs are, I was not used to that art style
Irratino hasn't been skipping arm day tho fr
I dunno, I drew him a bit thicker than my very first drawing in which he looked like a twink
This is from like what? One, two years ago?
There is definitely stuff that looks better in the old drawing than now-
I forgot how to draw hats

i think bianca di angelo would be so furious that they lost nico after she died. that he was able to just run away and get manipulated. (i know they looked for him, but *still*.) even though she was promised the camp would be a safe and accepting place for him. and dont get me started on how mad she’d be that the 7 (except hazel, of course, my angel) hesitated to save nico from that jar.

Okay since my previous (now deleted) post immediately spawned a goon in my dms, here is the new and improved funny anecdote:
On the eve of my birthday I was given the precious gift we are all bestowed once we grow older that truly unites us as humans: lower back pain

I don't draw fan art, idk why I just don't. Unless it's a surprisingly niche murder mystery puzzle book with a gay romance hidden in it without nearly enough fan art. Then yeah, yeah I'd draw fan art

I'm at home without my Murdle's Volumes 1 and 2. It's nice being home for break but I underestimated how obsessed my brain would get about Logico and Irratino. But, I'm not getting volume 3 or the school book until Christmas, so I'm also trying to avoid spoilers or any information on those two.
I've already technically spoiled myself for something in Volume 3, but I've already forgotten the name, so the action should still suprise me.
Specifically, I'm trying to pin down how they view each other's belief systems? For lack of better terms.
Spoilers for Volumes 1 and 2 below
Like, I know Logico includes motives during V1. Chapter3, because it's what Irratino would do. I know Irratino can use a logic grid to solve murders V2.C3. At the very least, they respect and engage in each other's interests, as seen in the ending drabble in some of the Sunday Daily Murdles. But like, I feel like I'm missing or forgetting something important.
Like, they're opposites but instead of fighting like cats and dogs or constantly bickering like most opposite dynamics go, they get along swimmingly well and have such a cute bond. God, I wish I had the books to read over again. Even just the hints pages for volume 1.
I've also already read through the fanfiction, with the only ones left having spoiler warnings for the books I haven't read :(

Yet another thing I find absolutely wonderful about how Jonathan Stroud wrote Lucy Carlyle is how he betrays her with the narrative.
In The Screaming Staircase, at the start of her story, Lucy gives us an idea of how she wants to be perceived; unaffected, unbothered, unburdened by fear or particularly revelatory emotions. She drops horrifically painful realities about her childhood on us as if she were describing a dull gray rock she found on the ground. She tries very, very hard to school her emotions around Lockwood and George. And if she had been written by anyone else, she might have fallen prey to the "strong independent female character" tar pit of a stereotype.
But then along comes Annabel Ward's ghost.
And the narrative looks at Lucy and says "I know how you wish to present yourself, but that's not who you are."
And Lucy is repeatedly shown to be incredibly Sensitive in so many ways. She is under the influence of the ghost of Annie Ward, but the emotions are still partly Lucy's. And most of the time she has the emotional intelligence to differentiate which feelings are hers and which ones are Annie's, and where they overlap. She chokes up with empathy on multiple occasions in the process of uncovering what happened to Annie Ward. She becomes enflamed with the desire for justice for someone who was murdered decades before she was born. She's shown that by her very nature, her emotions are her strength and not her weakness. Because she has a narrative that loves her and isn't lazy about her. She is the narrator and she tells us who she is, but the narrative shows her and us who she really is.
