 I still can’t forget that one halloween party I went to in sixth grade. I was scared I was going to be judged or bullied, but when I arrived you had the happiest smile on your face and opened your home up to me. We slathered caramel all over our apples and told scary stories to keep us up at night.

 I got to know you and waved to you in the hallways. We aren’t friends now, you probably wouldn’t recognize me even if I accidentally bumped into you, but every autumn since then  there’s a sad question that comes to mind, “If I wouldn’t have gone, what would have you done in an silent room full of decorations?”

I was angry, I am still angry. But I need to move on.

They all hurt me and by staying stubbornly on this pedestal of hate I will go no farther.

But now the next problem is the loss of my voice.

It has escaped my clumsy fingers and now blows in the turmoil I have intensified. I keep on thinking how can I get out of this alive without asking for help?

The simple answer is that it’s impossible. I can’t ask for help without a voice and I can’t get my voice without help.

So what do I do now?

as if nature isn't the most prolific storyteller out there!! with her layers of sediment and mountain-top fossils. with her trodden down paths and carved out river beds. with her fresh springs and billowing waterfalls. rotting branches and hollowed tree trunks... creeping coastlines and collapsing cliff faces... a living record of time immemorial; both an archiver and witness!!
