Whumpee is locked in a lab and exposed to some sort of chemical, poison, or pathogen that will inevitably kill them.
Caretaker is on the other side of the door and forced to watch. If there’s a window, at least.
Maybe Whumpee is exposed to an airborne toxin that comes fast, seeping into the air and making it acrid. Whumpee wheezes and gasps, pounds and claws at the door, screams until there’s nothing but fire in their lungs. Whumpee’s fight doesn’t last long, efforts going quiet, body slumping over and their face going blue. Caretaker’s fight lasts much longer, pounding and yelling at the door, but it still comes all too late.
Maybe it’s a poison or a virus that works slow. Whumpee seems fine on the other side of that door, just a few broken beakers or a little needle barely breaking skin. But then the symptoms start. Whumpee gets pale, and dizzy, and all distracted and spacey, and Caretaker starts to realize something is really fucking wrong. Maybe Whumpee starts sweating, shaking, vomiting, hallucinating, symptoms just getting worse and worse by the hour. Caretaker has to watch Whumpee deteriorate right there on the floor without being able to stop it.
Maybe Whumpee keeps periodically passing out. Caretaker sees Whumpee stumble and go white, and they tell them to sit the fuck down because the last thing they need is a concussion too. Maybe Whumpee hits the ground and Caretaker is left pounding at the door, yelling at them to wake up, because the longer they’re out the worse it gets. Whumpee wakes up every time, eventually, but always in a worse condition. And then it just gets harder and harder to wake Whumpee up until they just start having seizures instead.
Maybe Whumpee is locked in there with Whumper, held at gunpoint and forced to do what they say. Maybe Whumper uses Whumpee as a guinea pig, or just to taunt Caretaker, cruelly making Whumpee’s condition worse just for a reaction.
Maybe the door accidentally locked Whumpee inside and is just impossible to open. Some sort of failsafe. Or maybe Whumpee has to stay quarantined inside, sick and alone, because they got infected with a highly infectious virus. Maybe there's researchers watching with great interest.
Maybe Whumpee can open the door from the inside but doesn’t to protect Caretaker. Maybe there’s nothing Caretaker can say to change Whumpee’s mind, not even as they sink against the wall and cough up blood and creep closer and closer to death. Whumpee would rather die than expose Caretaker too.

kidnapping positions
send one for a starter featuring my muse, your muse or both of our muses (feel free to specify)...
duct taped to a chair
drenched with water & regularly half-drowned to keep them semi-conscious at most
tied somewhere with rising water levels
in the trunk of a car
in the back of a truck
in the back of a police vehicle
in the backseat of a car, trying to draw other drivers' attention
buried alive in a car/other vehicle
buried alive in a coffin (or casket, or burial shroud, etc)
strapped to a table & chemically restrained
strapped to a table & being operated on
strapped to a table & being tortured/injured for information
chained to a wall in a cold room
chained to the ceiling so they have to stand on tip-toes to reach the ground
locked in a small container (fridge, freezer, storage chest)
duct taped & gagged in a cupboard
duct taped & gagged in a bathroom
duct taped & gagged in another part of a house, basement or mansion
dumped in a river (possibly drugged, duct taped, etc)
left in a dumpster (possibly drugged, duct taped, etc)
left for dead in this creative way: (fill in the blank)
having just escaped from their kidnapper and badly needing food/water/medical attention/etc
having just escaped from their kidnapper and making that first phonecall home to say hello, I'm alive
having just escaped from their kidnapper and making the decision to turn back around to help (another muse) escape, as well

DRUGGED WHUMP
Drugged whump is my fucking jam like
-Drugs that make the whumpee talkative and honest
-Promised pain meds that are actually aphrodisiacs
-Drugs that make the whumpee sleepy and vulnerable, becoming drowsy and affectionate even if they usually were terrified or disgusted by their whumper
-Drugs that make the whumpee angry, aggressive, and energetic - easily manipulated in this state to even attack others at the behest of their whumper
-Finally getting pain meds after living in constant pain for ages and being brought to tears by the relief
-Super strong pain meds that make the whumpee slow and stoned, unable to defend themselves verbally or physically
-An allergic reaction to some pain meds or antibiotics - will the whumper risk bringing them to the hospital? Do they have a doctor who will help on the hush? Do they leave their whumpee to suffer through on their own?
- MEDS A WHUMPEE NEEDS TO FUNCTION, do they have to struggle to live without them? Does the whumper give them meds but on the condition of good behavior? Does the whumpee refuse the meds? Does the whumper give them their meds but secretly replace them with something else?
-Drugs that make a whumpee hallucinate - what do they see? Are they scared? Are they emboldened?
-Sleeping meds, keeping the whumpee too drowsy and weak to try to escape
- Stimulants, forcing a whumpee to stay up for days, sleep deprivation, forced labor
- Drugs slipped into food and drink, not knowing what’s happening when they start to feel funny
-Whumpee being forced to eat or drink something they KNOW is drugged but having no choice
-Injecting a whumpee with a syringe, the sharp pain of the injection and then the terrifying realization that they’ve been drugged, begging the whumper to tell them what they just gave them
-The whumpee trying to drug their whumper, maybe hoping to make an escape attempt, but being caught and forced to consume whatever it was themselves
- Starving a whumpee and then finally offering them some food, they know it is drugged but struggle to resist the temptation of the food, they are just so hungry
- Drugging a whumpee and letting them go, them being so overwhelmed with relief that they can finally escape, only to collapse just a few feet away from freedom
-Making a whumpee dependent on drugs, so they become even more dependent on their whumper, their Whumper threatening to take away the drugs as punishment knowing the horrible withdrawals they would go through from being cut off
- Drugs that paralyze the whumpee while leaving them conscious, the whumper getting to manipulate their body like a doll while they are horrified but unable to struggle
-Drugs that paralyze the whumpee’s legs, so they have to drag themselves anywhere they go
DRUGSSSSSSSS
If you use any of these prompts, please @ me, I’d love to read it!

healing but with downsides
Caretaker with healing powers but every second of it is excruciating for Whumpee. Burning, convulsing, screaming, the repair of flesh coming with fire or electricity or the burst pop scatter of darkness from every synapse rupturing with over-stimulation
A resurrection spell that brings Whumpee back from death but it’s like dying in reverse, shaking and gasping and horrible, so wretched and miserable all over again
Bloodletting to save Whumpee from poison or infection. Toeing the line between bloodloss and dying from whatever toxin needs to be drained
Trying spell after spell to reverse a curse or hex. Whumpee so beaten and abused by magic their body just shuts down or violently rejects it all
Whumpee with the power/affinity/etc to heal fast but practically goes comatose in the meantime. Caretaker fretting as Whumpee sleeps and can’t be roused for hours or days at a time until their wounds seem to heal on their own
Whumpee with the power/affinity/etc to heal fast but it’s like they’re dying. Maybe Whumpee fights off wounds the same way they would the flu, their body getting so feverish and sickly every time they get hurt. Maybe the energy of healing drains Whumpee entirely, leaving them all sweaty and limp and lifeless
Whumpees with the power to heal immediately on the surface but feel the pain indefinitely
Whumpee who can heal so fast they're used for organ harvesting, cut open and ripped apart again and again and again
Herbal concoctions used to make powerful healing potions that taste putrid, forced down Whumpee’s throat as they choke and struggle, too out of it to really fight back
Concoctions that save Whumpee from fatal stab wounds but feel so bad. Poultices and salves that burn or ache, tinctures that make them so restless and disoriented they dream about such horrible things while Caretaker wipes sweat off their brow
Caretaker having to soothe and look after Whumpee as they give them dose after dose of something that makes them feel terrible. Maybe it’s the only thing keeping them alive, but Caretaker feels guilty all the while
Drugs that promote healing but have a whole slew of side effects. Anxiety, heart palpitations, overstimulation, allergic reactions, horrible withdrawals after Whumpee heals
Whumpee’s wounds getting better in every physical way but they just feel so much worse

sedation whump tho
TW: sedation, drugging, restraints, helplessness
Being drugged into unconsciousness, sure.
But what's even better is a whumpee who is sedated, but not enough to put them completely under.
Just vaguely aware of what's happening, watching through heavy eyelids that keep wanting to close on them.
Too sleepy to fight back as they're picked up and strapped down, awake enough to know what a bad position they're in but too asleep to stop it from happening.
So drowsy that they keep drifting in and out of sleep even as the whumper prepares medical tools or torture implements or strange experiments.
Just awake enough to mumble sleepy little protests or respond to simple questions.
They manage to wake themselves up, but their body is still too uncoordinated to do anything about it when the whumper picks up their limp arm and injects them with another dose of sedative.
Fluttering, sleepy eyes above a mask that's keeping them dazed and out of it, as their kidnappers discuss what to do with them now that they're helpless.
So drugged and sedated that they lack the willpower to tear their eyes away from the hypnotic screen, letting their suggestible mind absorb all the words from the hypnotic earphones.
A sedated whumpee trying to escape, knowing that if they slow down or let their eyes close the guards will be on them in a moment and they're too drugged to fight back.
A whumpee who has been hit with a tranquilizer dart and managed to find a place to hide, desperately trying to keep themselves awake as their pursuers come closer and closer.

incapacitation
content warning
drugs that make a character woozy and disoriented. slurring words and falling slack, everything too heavy and confusing and muffled
blown pupils, wandering eyes, breathing too much or too little. sweating, shaking, puking, so limp and pale it’s almost like they’re dead
fevers so high a character's mind just turns to mush. glossy eyes tracking the ceiling, listless and unaware until eventually there's sweat sticking all over the sheets and they start mumbling some vague responses to caretaker's questions
tranquilizer dart that brings a character down all at once. one sudden jerk or look of confusion, not enough time to glance at it much less pull it out before eyes are rolling back and they collapse into the dirt
tranquilizer dart that comes on slowly. pulling it out and running and running until each step becomes too uncoordinated, stumbling or getting dragged along by a teammate until even their begging to stay awake, let's go, becomes hazy and distant
struck so hard that everything rings in one ugly roar. staggering or falling, told to sit down, just stay down. so confused and lost, repeating the same questions and forgetting the answer over and over and over again
character so messed up they struggle to follow any part of the conversation. everything too heavy and confusing and muffled, just useless and incoherent and completely oblivious to the situation
nervous prodding or pleading by caretaker, begging them to just stay awake or focus
jostled around by captor, told to get the fuck up and follow orders, easily manhandled and restrained
mumbling nonsense and spilling secrets. stoic characters without any masks, so confused and broken and vulnerable, slipping and powerless in every sort of way
"you're okay, i promise you're okay"
“ah, shit. you’re a mess—”
“I guess you won’t remember this anyways…”
gaze drifting and blank, too faraway to track anything caretaker/captor is saying. nudged and prodded and pleaded at to no avail, just incoherent and out of it
too weak to move. beaten absolutely senseless or bleeding all over the place, a character just hurting and spent beyond means sprawled flat against the ground
getting dragged along or stepped on, pinned down as if they're in any state to go anywhere
hypnotized and stunned into mindlessness. repeated mantras and rewired thoughts, a character made pliable and blank and used like a puppet
paralyzed but fully aware, left slack and useless and desperate with limp muscles and depressed breathing. assumed dead and abandoned, grieved over or dumped aside like a corpse, forced to watch and unable to do anything
poisoned and just getting worse and worse. teammates desperately looking for a cure while character deteriorates, puking and passing out and getting high fevers, hallucinating and begging for relief
characters taken out of commission when they're otherwise the strongest one. exposed to a weakness, given magical restraints or cuffs with neural suppressors to keep them docile, targeted and taken out
vertigo taking a character side to side, brought down and useless

characters on the run
always so tired. driving for hours and hours in whatever shitty beater they find or steal, downing caffeine and too many five-hour energy shots pickpocketed from some gas station
sleeping cramped up in some bus or train seat, slumped over in a transit terminal, hoodie pulled up tight in the hopes of not being recognized
nodding off but jerking awake every single time, exhausted but hardwired to be paranoid even with caretaker's gentle touch and quiet reassurances trying to get them to rest
so much time spent running or fighting they eventually just crash. stoic characters slumped and snoozing, trying to keep watch and instead getting some much needed rest
lurching awake in a cold sweat, gasping and trembling, bandages wrapped tight up and down their torso
"we're safe here. i promise."
"it's okay-- it was just a dream, i didn't hear anything..."
shot or stabbed while trying to lose a chase. limping through crowds, desperately acting causal, traces of blood left on everything they touch
collapsing and drawing a scene, strangers asking questions and touching all over. having to slip away from concerned bystanders before actual help (or trouble) arrives
washing off in some shitty public bathroom and leaving behind a horror show of bloodied paper towels and smeared fingers all over porcelain, too out of it and in a rush to actually bother cleaning up
character bleeding out and semiconscious and caretaker doesn't know what to do, has nowhere to go. desperately trying to drag them along as the threat gets closer and closer, or hiding and waiting and begging for them to wake up
when it's too dangerous to go to a hospital. makeshift first aid in the back of some car, breaking into a vet clinic after hours, slumped over in a dank alleyway or dirty bathroom. shaking fingers and dim lighting and nowhere comfortable to recover
all of the places to lie low are sketchy as hell. trap houses, back rooms, dive bars, strip clubs, late night joints where passing acquaintances are somehow okay with shady strangers crashing on their couch. always surrounded by a bad crowd and caught up in seedy shit
wearing the same clothes which get increasingly fucked up. fabric lost to makeshift bandages or tourniquets, blood stains and sweat, the same hoodie passed between characters getting worn and sentimental
long sleeves, oversized clothes, shitty makeup, hoods and sunglasses and hats, anything to hide their identity and all of the bruises and cuts
barely any money to their name. having to choose between filling up on gas or eating, counting remnants of change, stealing food or dine and dashing out of necessity. barely scrapping by and working any job on the low, just oh so easy to take advantage of
getting sick, but it's not like they get a break from running. feverishly wandering around, catching concerned looks from strangers, never getting the chance to rest properly so they just get worse and worse
getting so desperate they eventually call for help. trembling and hunched over in a phone booth, nervously knocking on caretaker's door, so rundown and pitiful of course they wouldn't be turned away, where the fuck have they been?

Whumpee who is tied up with a chain by their ankle, and left in a place that's slowly filling up with water. They try to get free, but there isn't much they can do.
The team finally finds them, but the water is already up to their waist. They frantically start looking for a way to free Whumpee, as it's impossible to stop the water flow. A key, bolt cutters, a rock, anything.
Whumpee tries to stay calm, smiling and nodding when someone says it'll be alright. They know. The team is here now, it'll be fine.
Right?
The water keeps rising and Whumpee has faith in the team, but as it reaches their shoulders, and they watch their teammates become more panicky, it becomes harder to stay calm.
The water is almost above their head now, and as they desperately gasp for breath, a teammate is frantically telling Whumpee it'll be okay, just hang. Whumpee just looks at them, managing to get out a few last words before they're under.
"It's okay."
And then they're gone, and they can't breathe, and the panic really begins.
Does the team get them out last minute, managing to break the chain? Or are they too late, and can only watch as Whumpee starts to trash underwater, until they go still? Or maybe they're just too late, breaking the chain just after Whumpee stopped fighting, dragging them to land and trying to revive them?

I am obsessed with the concept of evil scientist who in some way or another becomes a whumpee. Do you have any ideas on the topic
evil scientists who are evil because they were coerced into doing illegal things and blackmailed until it got worse and worse. now they're just in too deep
evil scientists under a lot of pressure to meet deadlines, overworking themselves into exhaustion, so desperate to make any sort progress they push and punish the subjects to get results
mandated “therapy” designed to keep evil scientists evil, monitor their psychological states, condition them to be cruel and perform and deliver
evil scientist is so evil they’re turned into a subject by the institution or other scientists and studied for their madness
evil scientist is so evil eventually their own lab assistants and techs turn on them
sabotaged by fellow colleague(s) who are against their unethical practices or want to see them to fail
infected with a disease and forced to race against the clock to find their own cure. getting sicker and sicker, testing on themselves, deteriorating until they're unable to focus at all
containment breech or accidental exposure to the very thing they’re studying. getting to feel just like the subjects they expose on purpose every day, maybe even turned into a subject or studying themselves
just another day in the lab until a subject manages to kick over a bunch of vials and now everyone is suffocating
evil scientist experimenting on themselves for desperate or misguided reasons. dealing with crazy side effects or adverse reactions, becoming more twisted or evil
evil scientist with insomnia, always working and never taking care of themself. it makes them paranoid and wild, sometimes hallucinating or breaking down
evil scientist faces retribution from escaped subjects who put them through the same experiments. tortured with the very conditioning, drugs, diseases, or devices they used and studied
accidentally leaving the wrong machine on and getting caught by its effects. now they're a drooling, incoherent mess

Whump trope I like is Whumpee succumbing to mind control.
When it's the trance like type, they can feel themselves lose control and desperately try to fight back before losing control, bonus is whumper is either eerily calm or outright taunting them.
Possession with them fighting back until they are either imprisoned in their own mind, helpless, or sealed in something else.
Puppetry where they slowly lose control of their body, all that remains are things you wouldn't actively think about (heartbeat, breathing, etc.) And their eyes. They can talk unless a certain string is pulled. Completely conscious, watching their body act not of its own accord.
Oh yes, I love some good mind control, especially if the Whumpee is still conscious, but just can't control their body. They're just a passenger, watching as they do awful things.
Especially if their friends/family knows they're mind controlled, and begs them to fight it, but they just can't. And Whumper taunting them, 'oh you can try begging all you want, they just listen to me now. Isn't that right, pet?'
What if they're forced to fight their friends, and the team has to choose between dying or letting Whumpee die. And when they stab Whumpee, the mind control is broken for a moment, but Whumpee scrambles back, telling them to just let them bleed out, saying they can feel to control get stronger again.
And even as they're dying and bleeding out, they fight for their mind, wanting to be themselves in their final moments.

Living Weapon + Military Whump Ideas
Living weapon is discarded after taking one to many blows in war
Soldier who fights alongside living weapon, can't stand watching them suffer either, even if it's in silence. A comrade in arms, is a comrade in arms.
Enemy commander is a living weapon, and they only break when they begin to realize that they're losing, because they can't imagine what's going to happen to them
Ally thinks highly of their living weapon colleagues, their nation, and their military. They did so until they accidentally witnessed a living weapon being punished for something incredibly minor.
Civilian doesn't understand how the soldiers are living weapons, and bestows tons of kindness and humanity to an injured one that crosses their path.
Enemy and Ally living weapon snap, realizing that together there's more of them, than there are of the people who made them.
Enemy and Ally living weapon decide this life ain't worth it, and run off together.
Medic dives in to rescue a living weapon, after finishing up with the normal set of soldiers. The epiphany of touch starvation kicks in for the living weapon, when they feel the medic's hands acting as gently and carefully as possible.
Groups of soldiers are paired up with one living weapon. At first the soldiers despised this set up, and the seemingly lifeless living weapons, until they begun to realize how great they were protectors, and that they seem to bestow humanity in their own...unique ways.
Enemy living weapon plagues a crew of soldiers for a long time. When they finally defeat it, they're all incredibly shocked at the pure despair coming from it, as it believes worse is to come of it for failing it's task.
Very skilled soldiers are "promoted" into living weapons
Soldier needs patching up. They just so happen to hate their living weapon comrades, and are even more distraught now when their local living weapon unveils their medical training for this exact situation.
Deserting soldier gets chased down by one of their living weapons.

You know what is Good? Living weapon whumpees, brainwashed, doing the stuff so dirty and dangerous (and illegal) that you couldn't make a soldier do it. Perhaps with the brainwashing, violence is all the whumpee knows, and they hate it and they hate constantly getting hurt, but they never think to rebel 'cuz what else is there? (Their keepers probably have nightmares about what would happen if the whumpee got loose and turned on them, but the whumpee's too useful to be locked up or destroyed...)
This is super good. Like, how are you supposed to know that something is wrong when you don’t know what anything else is like? And what happens when they finally realize that they are being used?
Whumpee has done terrible things to people. Assassination, murder, torture, threatening, you name it. They always knew something was wrong, but they were always unsure of what it was. Maybe, they mistook not liking hurting others for being unsatisfied with their results. So they find more efficient and brutal ways to hurt people, and their keepers are so satisfied with the results that they give Whumpee too much freedom. Whumpee finds out that what they are doing is wrongs and blames themself for everything.
Maybe one of their keepers has some sympathy for Whumpee, and is the only source of kindness for them (Caretaker). They dress Whumpee’s wounds, stay with them through nightmares, and make sure that they are well taken care of. Once higher ups find out about this, Caretaker is taken away. Because, they believed that Caretaker was making Whumpee “soft”. Now Whumpee is miserable and isn’t near as useful anymore.
The idea of there being a turning point for a Whumpee like this has so much potential. Whumpee realizes that they were the cause for so much damage, and they switch to the good side. But they have to interact with all of the people that they had once hurt when they were brainwashed. Between internal conflict and conflict with the people they now work with, Whumpee is in for a lot of hurt.

characters that become the whumpee for being the strongest one
the contrast of the strongest character being taken down to nothing. stoic characters shaking and gasping in a way that’s so unlike them, fighters left limp and lifeless when they’re needed most
characters who are always on the front line, the point man to every operation, taking down all the threats and enemies and generally the best at what they do until missions go wrong and the team has to scramble to the rescue
living weapons always getting beaten, shot, stabbed. so used to bruises and scrapes and violence until something serious really takes them down, forces them to rely on the help of others or suffer alone with only scraps of help from their handler(s)
the protector gets taken out and the other character(s) have to step up, save them, devise an escape plan while much more vulnerable and disadvantaged without their fighter in commission
caretakers that can barely drag whumpee around, much less carry them. whumpee bleeding out as caretaker desperately heaves their dead weight, blood smearing all over tile, slurred pleas to just leave them behind ignored
begging for whumpee to stay awake while pressing slack and bloody fingers around the hilt of a gun
“Please wake up. Wake up. I need you.”
the strongest character worked to the absolute brink, so drained after all the grueling back to back missions they eventually just collapse
fighter character forced into the ring at the whim of some villain or to save the rest of the team. winning round after round but never given any water, never given the chance to take a break. eventually every punch comes sloppy and misplaced, footing uncoordinated, until finally one hit makes them go down and they don’t come up again
fighting while injured, having no other choice but to protect other character(s) while bleeding all over the place, barely able to lift a gun or reduced to just throwing around the weight of their own body with the blind sheer instinct to survive
the strongest characters feeling like they should be last in line for medical treatment, presumed to be okay when really they're always taking the worst or bleeding out from a hidden wound
the greatest threat treated the harshest by captors. characters so dangerous they’re the first one taken down, drugged or hit the hardest, searched and restrained much more thoroughly than the others
characters whose only role is being the fighter/protector, which makes them expendable and first on the chopping block when the whole team is captured
alternatively, fighter character is whisked off to be used for nefarious purposes while the rest of the team is collateral. forced to commit massacres or countless crimes until they come back injured and the captors refuse any sort of care
