Cliche Suggestion but: don’t compare your growth to another person’s because that is unhealthy. My brother used to compare himself to his classmates back in high school as they all graduated college before him. It took him longer than all of them to graduate, and he found himself doing worse when he looked down upon himself as more people from the classes after him graduated before him. You can learn at a different rate. You can succeed at a different rate. You can do life at a rate that is different from all of your peers. And that is okay.

I guess that we are getting close enough to the next school year. Now, I may be a Sophomore (university student) this year, so my advice to incoming freshmen may be a little off, and that of an amateur but I guess I may as well say it. Suggestion: I know it's scary to think that you won't make friends in this upcoming year. I know that you're probably nervous about classes as well. From what my own brothers have told me and what I know, first year courses may be hard classes mostly because they will pile the work on top of you since first year course professors have hundreds of students to keep track of. So, you should try and keep on top of the work before it overwhelms you. The next thing, friends, making friends is hard. I wish I didn't have to say that, but making friends can be hard and finding people you want to spend time with can be hard. Most of the friends I made in this past year have all been through me going to after school activities, and I also made some friends in my classes as well. The thing is that college is scary to a lot of people, and I bet a few want to make friends as much as you do. Try and talk to people, and I know it's hard to do it with social anxiety and everything but.. I guess if you do talk to that person who seems really cool or gives you good vibes or they seem like they're alright but they're just lonely, then I'm sure they'll all appreciate it.

You know, because the first tag of the first person to blog this wonders what I mean, here we goooooo. This is me attempting to explain myself. At a certain point Physics is a bunch of variables with a bunch of equations that involve said variables. Each time you solve a problem in Physics you are usually asked to solve for a specific variable in a specific situation (to the point where the only variable you have to find an answer for that variable). In each of these situations, you are usually given numbers for these answers. The number you should plug in immediately is anything that is equal to 0 because this simplifies equations immensely. In some physics problems you are told to "derive an equation to solve for a certain variable", which means that you have to use all the equations at your disposal to solve for one variable to where the things you know are on one side and that is equal to what you are solving for. Most of my past few physics teachers have actually preferred for my class to solve problems by deriving the equation first and then we plug in the numbers that way you can understand how these variables work and not just so you can get an answer. I apologize if this wall of text made it more confusing, I just wish I coulD UPLOAD PHOTOS THROUGH MOBILE, looking at you Tumblr staff.

tl;dr: don't just plug and chug onward through physics.

Suggestion: start having consistency on when you sleep and when you wake up throughout the week, it might help you out if you do. I usually try to make it so I wake up an hour before my earliest class or so because it takes a lot more to get me moving than to keep me moving. I've said something similar to this before, but that was primarily talking about test nights. I just think it applies to almost everyday, but especially on test nights.
