A species page for Fun'u, a species of cervitoid alien that reside on Autania. These unique specimens grow and host local fauna from their roaming range on on their back, thanks to a special layer of fat and a dermis layer that prevents roots from burrowing into vital organs.
Fun'u use large frills for aggressive and mating displays, and the larger a frill, the higher within the herds hierarchy the creature is.
Fun'u typically host one or two organisms in their host space, but the oldest and most covered Fun'u was recorded to have up to seven species of plants on its back!

Did a quick painting test of the main Chasmora character, Acari!
Reef Chasmora don't usually wander ot of their reefs, but Acari is an explorer at heart. They love finding new rings of corals or fish in the open ocean

Some concept work for one of the deity planes, where a resident deity works to maintain their part of the Great Cycle. This particular plane's deity has been forgotten to time, but it always continues its work regardless.
Working on more things like environments and character concepts, so alongside snippets of the current book expect to see some more of that! Happy holidays!

Did a quick sketch of Cenotanion's main species, the Chasmora! This one is a Reef Chasmora, more adapted to move through large coral structures and ambush hunting, similar to Earth moray eels!

Upon the planet of Ouria, a slowly growing star woven from the ancient dusts of Inner Elliptic nebulae resides a curious population of creatures. Draconian beings have taken this massive star and woven a home inside its core, adapted for incredibly high temperatures and the bright, constant light of a sun in their eyes.
We will have more for you shortly!

The Auhron of Autania have been divided into two factions, by an unknown event in their history known simply as The Divide. One factions lived mostly as normal, although aware of the other.
The others, known as Blanks, or Blank Auhron, stay within heavily fortified cities, known as Keeps by the locals. They seem to follow strict class and heirarchal ranking systems, with the one at the top, only known as The Queen by her subjects. They are defensive and skittish in comparison to the majority of the population, more willing to commit to violent deeds in the name of doing their Queen's Will and serving her.
The sketch below is of a higher ranking Auhron, in typical daily attire. The geometric patterns of their clothing, such as circles, lines, and occasionally squares, coincides with how their structures are built. The only truly non-geometric components of the outfit are the sigil on the broach and the odd shape of the crown, which appears to have similar properties to local stone in which is cannot be carved in such forms.
These Auhron, while mostly based in shadow, can still have incredibly well-defined emotional responses. Although in accordance with the laws that have been seen in enactment, those reactions are typically not welcome.
More information on the Blanks shall be recorded soon - sneaking around these cities is not nearly as easy as it seems, with soldiers constantly patrolling and every white eye peeled for potential misbehaviours.
World 5000
(OOC: Okay I fucking love their outfit actually. I would like to wear that.
Would I cosplay this fit? 100% would do it. The ONLY reason that I can is that I don't know how to sew. Or where to find appropriately ominous cloaks.)

Isylhejif - A Deep-Sea Gentle Giant
An easy-going, gentle and easily excitable beast who roams the deeper zones of Autania's oceanic biomes, the Isylhejif's flowing fins and vibrant glows are a sight to behold - to anyone who dares to swim so deep.
(Displayed here - artwork of an Isylhejif from a distance, during the Crest season)
Appearance
The Isylhejif is one of the larger oceanic creatures, considered a leviathan by some, scaling in at over 216 meters (706 ft) in length from snout to tail tip. It has two sets of fins, and lures stemming from the ends of each and underneath its jaw.
The Isylhejif often presents its colors as deep shades of blue, the color varying slightly depending on the season. The membranes are primarily a shade of deeper turquoise, and these also rarely vary. It's bioluminescent markings do change color with the seasons - the depiction above is during the Glowcrest season.
It has lures, similar to many aquatic and semi-aquatic creatures of Autania. The beings tail ebbs off into a large, flowy fin, which runs up the length of its neck. It has a bell atop its head, which is a jelly-filled cap that produces poison and secretes it onto the Isylhejif's skin.
Behavior
The Isylhejif lives in a part of Autania's oceans where the bioluminescent light of lunar fern kelp can barely stretch through the dark, and seeing is no longer a reliable way to hunt or navigate the rockier sea-soil clumps. So, Isylhejif rely on musatehkit, echolocation, and sound cues, traveling through the water to find their way around.
While they are larger hunters, Isylhejif are often found in large pods, and are sometimes accompanied by smaller fish and creatures. They enjoy play and games of hide-and-seek, with the younger, more adventurous members of the Isylhejif pods hiding a bit further out into open ocean to challenge each other. They also engage in games of pretend, to help develop skills for hunting later in life.
Musatehkit
Isylhejif produce passive musatehkit (also known as worldsong) displays, and they commonly display Draping Choirs. Draping Choirs are the long notes of the Symphony, echoing low and resonating with those who hear them for cycles after.
(Displayed here - headshot of an Isylhejif, actively singing below water, during changeover from Crest to Echo seasons)
These passive displays often resemble long, thick ribbons of color, flowing in wave-like rhythms across the dark skies or through water. As Isylhejif are passive displayers, when the entire pod is focused and in-tune with the worldsong, beautiful shows of flowing color will trail through the waters behind them. The resonant frequencies of the Isylhejif's notes can typically be felt ringing through one's ribcage if you're close enough to a pod.
