Introducing my Kingdom Hearts Self-Insert character, Miyu!

If you are interested in reading her story, it is under the cut! It is constantly being updated, since it is incomplete, so I will share when I add more!

I would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on the story! I haven’t felt this proud of any story I’ve written!

[DISCLAIMER: In any of the links to finished scenes, anything written in Red has been taken from the official Light Novels, rather than me rewriting the canon content. I basically just inserted my own canon into those moments.]

The story is currently still in progress, and I tend to write things out of order as I think of them, so for now it is broken up into a timeline format. Once everything is written, I will share it as a full fic!

Miyu is a Princess of a Kingdom off in a certain world. She has two very special friends who she has grown up with. The three of them often get into trouble together inside the castle, such as sneaking off and avoiding their responsibilities. They all dream of traveling to other worlds someday to explore. [READ]

At a young age, Miyu is sent to the Land of Departure to train under someone named Aqua. During this training, she uses her wand, but by the end of her training, Aqua bequeaths her Keyblade to her, giving her the opportunity to have one of her own in the future. (This training ends a few days before the story of Birth By Sleep)

Years pass and Miyu is more than ready to leave home, not wanting to be forced into the role of becoming queen. She continues her training on her own, hoping it would be a useful skill for when she does finally get to leave, occasionally sparring with one of her two friends, Ceri. Her other friend Leslie, on the other hand, spends some time away, learning a skill that the other two know nothing about.

When Leslie returns, they discover she was learning to fly a magical ship that allows the travel between worlds, but she was warned that it was only to be used for certain purposes. This doesn’t stop the trio, however, from wanting to use it as their way to get out. [READ]

They travel together for maybe around 2 years or so, enjoying their time away from their home and growing closer to each other in the process.

Unfortunately, while visiting one world in particular, the girls go up against a giant Heartless(or another monster. Haven’t decided yet). Miyu ends up being overly confident in her skills with her ice magic, and during one of her attacks, she slips on some ice on the ground, and leaves herself open to be attacked. Her friends jump in to protect her, but the Heartless(?) was far too strong and its attack blasted them each into separate worlds.

Miyu wakes up in the forest outside of Twilight Town, where she finds she was with a mysterious hooded man (Axel) - [READ]

Over time, the two regularly run into each other and eventually become friends, who actively seek each other out and meet up when they can. [READ]

During this time she also befriends a yellow dog with the name Pluto on his collar. She isn’t sure where he came from, but the two of them spend a lot of time together when she is alone.

During the 358/2 Days Story (Light Novel version), after Xion fails to defeat Riku, Saix orders Axel to search all the different worlds to find him, telling him he can search them in any order he chooses. After this, when talking with Miyu, he learns that she believes her friends are out in other worlds. Wanting to help her, he decides to offer to let her go on his missions with him so she can search for them. Miyu, however, doesn’t know anything about him being involved in the Organization (or what it even is for that matter) - [READ]

While searching in Agrabah, Axel notices another member is on a mission there, and since he doesn’t want anyone to see that he is letting Miyu tag along on his missions, when they aren’t supposed to be interacting with people from other worlds, he finds a way to distract Miyu, then sends his fellow member off, volunteering to do her mission for her.  As it turned out, that member was actually one of the friends she was searching for! She ended up joining the Organization as their 15th member not long after the three girls were separated from each other, but since neither of them actually saw each other, Miyu had no idea they were briefly in the same place.

While searching for Miyu’s friends in Arendelle, the two start to get a little more comfortable around each other. - [READ]

During their search in the Kingdom of Corona, Miyu and Axel really start to realize how they feel about each other, but Axel has trouble believing his feelings are actually genuine. (My favorite so far!! If you read nothing else please read this one!) - [READ]

After this world visit, Miyu is sure that she has grown to have feelings for Axel, and while getting ready for their next search, she takes extra time to get ready, wanting to impress him that day. However… he doesn’t show up. (This is when Xion goes missing the first time. He had every intention of meeting up with her that day until he is sent off to find her)

From here, it gets much harder for Axel to help her, without getting her involved in all the trouble he is facing with his friends back at the Organization. He feels guilty for avoiding her, though, especially because he had also started developing feelings for her (even though he is constantly denying it to himself, thinking he isn’t actually able to feel that way.)

After going to the world of Neverland with Roxas for a mission, Axel decides it might be fun to take Miyu to this world to look for her friends. The fact that they would be able to fly would not only make it easier for their search, but he has a feeling she would really enjoy it, just like Roxas. Unfortunately, this ends up being their last world visit together, as things start to get a little messy back at the Organization with everything that happens with Xion.

To Miyu, it almost seems like Axel had disappeared for a while. She even starts to worry that he might be avoiding her.

The day Axel goes to the mansion outside of Twilight Town to retrieve Xion, Miyu happens to be in the forest and witnesses the whole thing. She chooses to keep herself hidden and not let him know she was there, as she could tell what was happening was something important that she shouldn’t get in the middle of. But while hearing some of their conversations (the light novel goes more in depth on what they say to each other while battling) she ends up with more questions about Axel and his life. She plans on asking him about these things she overheard the next time she sees him, but by the time that comes, she ends up completely forgetting everything she saw that day (this is because of what happens when Xion goes away) - [READ]

They don’t actually see each other face to face again until after Roxas leaves the Organization and Axel is going in and out of the digital Twilight Town to try to bring him back. He goes to the real Twilight Town to clear his head after one of those visits and runs into Miyu. She isn’t upset with him for pretty much ditching her, but she is concerned for him, as she can sense that something is wrong. He won’t really tell her anything that is going on, but assures her that he will be fine, because he’s “tougher than he looks” - [READ]

After Axel fails to bring back Roxas, he decides its for the best to push Miyu out of his life to protect her, since the Organization wants him eliminated.This ultimately crushes her, and brings her to her lowest point. Not only is she without her two best friends, but now she believes the one person she had grown close to since losing them wants nothing to do with her. However, since she noticed he was injured when this happened, she sends Pluto to keep an eye on him. (This one is very canon story heavy, but because of how well it all fits together, I wanted to include a lot of the canon scenes for context. Because of the length, I broke it up into parts, though Part 1 is really most important) - [READ Part 1] [READ Part 2] [READ Part 3]

During the KH2 Light Novel, Axel teams up with Riku (in his Ansem form) and Namine, and the three of them help Sora and his friends from behind the scenes, while trying to think of a way to rescue Kairi after Axel messed up when he kidnapped her. During their time together, Namine sees the three of them as becoming friends and even draws a picture of them together. However, at one point while Riku is away, Namine starts to ask Axel about Miyu, since she witnessed what happened when he pushed her away. She also draws a picture of the two of them together. - [READ]

Axel ends up “betraying” Riku and Namine and is reinstated into the Organization, though Xerci and Saix are suspicious of him - [READ]

Ever since meeting Sora, Miyu starts getting mysterious letters from someone claiming to know her. These letters appear out of nowhere, like magic, and give her advice when she needs it. (What she doesn’t know is that these letters come from one of her best friends, who was able to send them after learning of her location when she heard that Sora had met her)

Around the time period of Dream Drop Distance, Miyu saves up enough munny to get a home in Twilight Town (rather than just staying in a hotel all the time), which is something she ends up being very proud of. She was someone who was once a princess with servants and such, living out on her own and taking care of herself. She had come to terms with the fact that it is possible she was stuck there for good, and while she didn’t want to remain stuck forever, she was much more comfortable living in Twilight Town than back in that castle she grew up in.

After Sora fights the Demon Tide in Twilight Town (KH3) and it flies away afterward, it ends up in the same area of Town that Miyu is in. She had been practicing her fighting skills quite a bit after losing Axel, but she still wasn’t quite ready to fight something like this. She starts to feel the same way she did during the fight that caused her to be separated from her friends, and is worried that she will lose this battle too, but suddenly her wand transforms into a Keyblade when she is backed into a corner and she is able to fight harder and defeat it.

Soon after getting her Keyblade, Miyu receives another mysterious letter, instructing her to take a special train out of Twilight Town to a certain tower, where she can get proper training with her keyblade. Upon arriving, she discovers that one of the friends she had been searching for was the one who had been sending the letters, and the two have a tearful reunion.

Miyu is then sent to the Secret Forest to train with two other Keyblade wielders.

Miyu meets Axel again and they confess that they had feelings for each other before - [READ]

When all the Guardians are together, Miyu gets to reunite with Aqua again. She is impressed with how far she has come since their training from when Miyu was young.

After the battle with Saix, Miyu’s Friend Group is fully Reunited - [READ]

After the final battle, everyone goes back to where they belong with all of their friends. Miyu and Axel are the first ones to arrive to the Clock Tower and Miyu comes clean about how she is really a princess who ran away from her home world. Later in the conversation, they even share their first kiss while waiting for the others to arrive (only to be caught by Roxas when he shows up, oops) But when everyone arrives, the entire group sits together having ice cream - [READ]

I’m Back!

It’s been a while since I’ve used Tumblr, but I want to start sharing some of my new content on here! Lately, I’ve been really into Kingdom Hearts and have been working on a story for my Self-Insert Character! So that’s most of what you will see from me for a while!! I’d love to talk more about this character and story, so feel free to send me some asks!! I’ll be making a post introducing her in just a bit!

Leon reading:

-Leon is a secret bookworm. He keeps most of his books back at home in Postwick, but he keeps a few of his favorites with him. He mostly reads nonfiction, always trying to better himself, but he’s also a sucker for a good Pokemon adventure story. He’s constantly sending new books home to Postwick that he finds on his adventures.

-He likes to sit near the window as he reads, usually pulling up a chair or bench. He’ll sit with at least one leg bent to prop the book up on. He’ll put his purple hair up in a ponytail or bun to keep it out of his face so he can concentrate. Leon also has a pair of glasses just for reading. Only you and Hop have seen them.

-Leon prefers to have a hot beverage while he reads, usually tea, but hot chocolate or applin cider is a good runner up. Coffee has too much caffiene for the already hyper man, which would make it hard for him to focus on his reading if he drank it. Most of the time he gets too engrossed in the book and forgets to drink it, but he always makes it anyway.

-When he focuses on a tougher passage or something he doesn’t understand, he’ll get a little crease between his brows as he furrows them. He’ll sometimes ask you for help, having you read over the passage and giving your input.

-He absolutely loves it any time you kiss his head or play with his hair when he reads. Leon loves it even more when you read together, he’ll pull your legs over his lap, propping his book up on them and occasionally giving you footrubs as he does.

Fluff Alphabet- Champion Leon

Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

Initially, it’s all a bit Pokemon centric. Going to the Wild Area to see wild Pokemon, battling and training, occasionally even grooming and dressing Pokemon up (you have a picture of Charizard with pink ribbons around his ear/horn things). But Leon is observant, he quickly takes notice of your special interests and plans activities surrounding them. 

Beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them? 

Leon thinks the most beautiful thing about his s/o is how kind they are. He is encouraging and sweet by nature, wanting to bring out the best in everyone around it- it warms his heart when he sees how kind you are to the people around you, especially if you’re dealing with children.

Comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Wraps his cape around you. It’s heavy, but warm and comforting and it smells like him. Soft kisses on your face, gently asking if you want to talk. 

Dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

He won’t easily admit it, but he likes to think about getting a farm, somewhere far away from the lights. A farm and a barn and some Wooloo around, maybe a few kids? He loves his job, both when he’s champion and when he’s running the battle tower, but he longs for the quaint rusticity of Postwick sometimes; he wants to whisk you away to someplace pretty and natural.

Equal - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Dominant. Leon is very sweet, he’s a good guy, but for all that, he’s used to being an unstoppable force. He’s also an older sibling, someone who had a parental role from very early on, so Leon is used to thinking that he is responsible, that he knows best. He can be a bit overbearing at times, but he’s aware enough to take it down a bit when you point it out.

Fight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

If it’s a fight about something fundamental that you disagree on, Leon will try to compromise, but he won’t keel over. If push comes to shove and you violate one of the principles he holds fundamental to himself, that’s a deal breaker. However, with petty little fights and squabbles, he can be difficult. If you’re upset with others, Leon can be very understanding. If you’re upset at him, that’s a different case altogether. He’ll move directly to appeasement without understanding the issue, he’ll be cranky if his attempts at apologizing don’t work- the good news is, once you properly communicate to him why you’re upset, he’ll genuinely try to make a change. If he’s upset with you, still difficult. Leon doesn’t like to admit he’s hurt, he doesn’t like to admit that he had expectations that weren’t met. You’ll have to pry it out of him, then apologize with lots of kisses.

Gratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

Moderately grateful. Leon’s observational skills pertain directly to what he chooses to focus on. With his head up in the clouds, he may miss a few things that you do for him here or there, but on the whole he’s very appreciative of you. Loves it when you take time off to come to his battles, to travel to different cities or regions with him. The thing he’s probably most grateful for is when you wash his hair- the first time you did it, he assumed you were going to have shower sex, but you ended up carefully untangling, washing, and unconditioning his hair. The sheer care and effort made him tear up a little, to be honest. 

Honesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

He’s not dishonest, more so repressed. He doesn’t want to tell you things that he thinks would unnecessarily make you worry, and he’s careful when he talks about himself- years of diplomacy in practice. You get to know Leon slowly, over late night pillow talks and rare moments of vulnerability and exhaustion- but it’s all worth it, in the end.

Inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

To Leon, real love should be a means of self actualization. He knows he’s truly in love with you when he realizes you both make each other better. You admire and learn from his work ethic; because of you, Leon learns to become more emotionally open, and it helps all his relationships, especially with Hop.

Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Unfortunately, yes. He doesn’t seem like it, but Leon is a little insecure, along with being competitive. His insecurities stem from how he feels the need to be perfect- he needs to be the ultimate whatever- the ultimate trainer, the ultimate boyfriend, etc. He tends to focus on what he perceives as flawed within himself, and it helps him grow, but at the same time, it can get a bit unhealthy. So when he sees you with other guys, or if someone flirts with you, he gets a bit withdrawn and sulky- in his head, he’s trying to figure out how to better himself to the point where there’s no chance of losing, become the ultimate boyfriend you’d never dream of leaving. It takes a lot of prying to get these things out of him, and a lot of talking to eventually make him realize that you like him for him. 

Kiss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

Good kisser. The first kiss is gentle- he’s figuring you out, he goes in slow and soft, fingers cusping your chin with one arm around your waist. HIs lips are soft against yours, and he ends up smiling against your lips before he goes in to kiss you again. 

Love Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

Woah, boy. It does not come easy. Leon is a strategist by nature, so he plans and plans and plans. He lays the groundwork. The thing with romance is, it doesn’t have the same degree of predictability as a Pokemon battle, so Leon is a bit out of his element. After a lot of times of backtracking, chickening out mid sentence, and very unassuming flirting, he ends up just telling you when you’re talking at his place one night, his eyes wide and misty as he looks into yours and tells you he’s falling in love with you.

Marriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose?

Definitely wants to get married. He wants a soft domestic situation with comfort and mutual affection. His proposal would be private, one moment in his life he definitely doesn’t want to share with the public. Probably a soft romantic date, followed by a midnight walk where he’s holding your hand, saying sweet romantic things, before he leads you back to his apartment. He’s got a sweet little setup on his balcony, overlooking the Wyndon skyline, with an assortment of cushions and blankets on the floor where you sit and cuddle and talk until he sets himself up, gives a tiny speech, and pulls out the ring. When you say yes, Charizard emerges from within the apartment, carefully another, daintier ring between his teeth as Leon laughingly explains that his Pokemon wanted to propose, too. 

Nicknames - What do they call their s/o?

In public, he’ll stick with a shortened version of your name, or something like babe. In private, he has personal nicknames for you, some teasing, coming from inside jokes.

On Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

Leon is very guarded with others, but when he’s in love, the people close to him notice that he’s more energetic than ever. Happier, more upbeat, maybe even a little giddy. His happiness permeates everything he does, and he’s even more sunshiny that usual.

PDA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

Very, very private. Leon’s entire image is carefully controlled, and he doesn’t like bringing his personal life into it at all. He’s a bit possessive, so he might hold your hand and glare around any guys that happen to look you over, but nothing more than that. However, with his friends and family, he’s obviously very proud of you- doesn’t brag, but he’s always the first to appreciate your achievements and support you. 

Quirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

He’s a very caring person in a responsible way, so he’s always making sure you’re well fed, happy, exercising, things like that. 

Romance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

Romantic and creative. He’s always finding clever ways to make you happy, either through presents or gestures that involve humour and inside jokes and a very personal touch.

Support - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

He’s a whole cheerleader, no matter what you do. Always cheering you on, always believing in you, hyping you up, telling you to believe in yourself. He does whatever he can to help you with your goals, whether it’s helping you keep fit, or waking you up in the morning for classes.

Thrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice up your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

Prefers routine. He doesn’t want thrill or exhilaration from his relationship, he gets enough of that at work. He wants comfort. He wants to cuddle on the couch and chatter mindlessly, drag you playfully and be dragged, eat dinner together, read, be all warm and comfy and safe.

Understanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

Empathetic and observant, he knows you well. He remembers every little detail he’ picked up about you, whether directly from you or from other sources. 

Value - How important is the relationship to them? What is it worth in comparison to other things in their life?

The more time elapses, the more important it is to him. Leon’s altogether too busy to simply be messing around, and as you guys are in it for the long run, your relationship is one of the most valuable things in his life. You’re a solid part of his life, someone he knows and respects and loves.

Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.

One of his favourite things to do with you is just watch you play video games when he’s snuggled up beside you, your legs entangled in a blanket. If it’s an RPG, he’ll get invested in the storyline and ask you not to play without him. He’s an enthusiastic cheerleader during boss fights. LOVES Super Mario Odyssey- he makes you buy Mario a snapback, and he even ends up playing co-op with you when he learns that he can play as Cappy. 

XOXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?

Privately very affectionate, even a little sappy. Lots of chaste kisses here and there- on your forehead, your cheeks, your shoulders, your hands. When he has time to relax, he loves being held and having his hair played with or braided. It might make sleeping a lil complicated because you end up with a big, dense man with his arms and legs thrown over you, but you appreciate it all the same.

Yearning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

He works harder and smarter than ever. He’ll throw himself into training, but when he gets back home at night, he’ll miserably yearn to be cuddled and held, especially when he’s so tired. 

Zeal - Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

As long as he knows you’d reciprocate, Leon will go above and beyond for you. It doesn’t matter what you need- care, attention, presents, gestures he’ll do them. It gives him a huge rush to see you happy because of him, to see you light up and pull him in for a passionate kiss.

Omg I am so sorry for the late response! I haven't been on Tumblr in a while. If you were following me on Twitter before I got locked, you should still be able to see my posts, so I don't understand... I have been locked because I just feel more comfortable that way for the time being, but will probably unlock at some point in the future.

I don't know if this is against any regulations but. How would Leon react to finding out his s/o's very loving, very clingy Sylveon originally wasn't originally his s/o's Sylveon? And how would he react to finding out that his s/o got Syl the day they evolved from an Eevee. Their original trainer had this whole public freak out about wanting an Umbreon, before s/o jumped in in defense of Syl and Syl's OT just stormed off, leaving Syl behind, so s/o adopted Syl right then and there?

Ahhhhh, the poor Sylveon. Tbh Sylveon is my top favorite Eeveelution, and I will protect them all with every fiber of my being. I won’t hesitate, bitch.

Leon: Sylveon Mishap

Leon had always assumed your Sylveon had been with you as a partner pokemon, with how close you two were.

He never suspected that it could’ve been a rescue type of situation.

One day he decided to ask you how you came to get an Eevee, and you were extremely confused at first before it clicked.

You had to explain the small story to him, and by the end, he was a bit shocked.

Your Sylveon has originally belonged to this other trainer you had been going to school with. They’d been trying really hard to get him to become an Umbreon.

Once, during a match against you, the poor Eevee was on its last leg when it evolved into a Sylveon.

A meltdown was a mild way to put this, the trainer absolutely broke and was screaming and yelling. They were so pissed they ‘wasted so much time on a useless pokemon.’

You had never seen a pokemon so hurt in your entire lifetime, with how the Sylveon’s ears were pinned down with its tail tucked between its legs as it looked down in shame.

The unfortunate thing was already almost ready to faint from its battle and was now being yelled at with its evolution, which couldn’t be reversed.

Your breaking point was when the original trainer was going to crush its Pokeball under her foot, and you ran over and tackled her, wrestling the ball back.

You had gone off on the trainer, explaining that they only evolve into a Sylveon if they truly loved their trainer, and how they weren’t deserving of that love.

You scooped up the pokemon and walked over to the clinic, making sure the pokemon got the proper treatment.

Due to verbal abuse and several witnesses, it was deemed the trainer was no longer allowed to keep that pokemon, and you asked for the pokemon to be transferred under your name.

Leon had stood there speechless as the happy-go-lucky Sylveon was in the background playing with Charizard.

He couldn’t help but call over the pokemon and hug the poor baby before grabbing you into said hug.

He knew there was a reason he fell for you. This was just one of them.
