So glad to be part of such an amazing moment with Paul. The wind started to blow amazingly when he sang with John and during “Live and Let Die” it started to rain as the special fire effects and fireworks went off. The rain lasted for that song only! Total spiritual moments last night. Also so happy to share Paul’s 80th birthday with him! ☮️❤️✌🏻

I’ve seen this footage a few times but not in this quality so I’ve only just noticed…is that a painting of John and Paul behind Dick James in their Apple office?

McLennon Week 2022
Hello everyone! I’ve been thinking about hosting a fandom event for a while and given that 6th of July (aka the day John met Paul) is coming in a few more weeks, I thought it would be a perfect time to make a McLennon Week to celebrate the wonderful (although at times complicated) relationship between this two legends.
The idea is fairly simple: There would be a selection of prompts to fulfill along said week (from the 4th to the 10th of July), with either fanfics, illustrations, moodboards or whatever other piece of media you want to create. The only requirement is that it is centered around John and Paul.
It doesn’t have to focus on their relationship from a romatic point of view, it can also be interpreded from a platonic one (I know it’s a complicated subject in the fandom), as I said, the main idea for this event is to celebrate the connection between them since it is what resulted in the creation of the The Beatles.
If you would be interested in participating, like this post (and please reblog it too so it can reach more people). According to the interest this receives I might do a poll with different prompts so we all can vote and use the most popular ones or directly pick them myself.
If you have any questions/suggestions please feel free to send me a message in this blog.
Cheers!

MALLLL!!!!!
Older Beatles fans and newfound fans from the movie “Get Back” all love Mal Evans. Most of us who have grown up with the Beatles feel Mal never got his chance to shine after his subsequent breakdown and untimely death following the breakup of the Beatles in 1976. His meticulous notes and memories will finally be released in 2023 in an official biography. I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. “MALLLLL!!!” it’s your turn! #getbacktowhereyouoncebelonged #getbackmal 🔨🎼🪘🧔👓

“The fans gave their money and their screams but the Beatles gave their nervous systems. That’s a lot harder thing to give.” - George Harrison - “Anthology”

George Harrison (and, in photo 2, Mal Evans) in fan photos from 1969.
“What annoys us is that people treat us [The Beatles] sometimes as if we are just things and not human beings.” - George Harrison, Rave, June 1964
“George Harrison is the reluctant Beatle. He did not expect fame. When it came, he was bewildered.” - Melody Maker, 7 November 1964
George Harrison: “[The fans have] all got this idea that we’re something else.” Leslie S. (fan): “Good or bad?” GH: “I don’t know… whatever it is, they don’t see us as what we are, which is people.” - conversation with a fan taped at Kinfauns, 1967
Q: “How did taking LSD affect you?” George Harrison: “It was like opening the door, really, and before, you didn’t even know there was a door there. It just opened up this whole other consciousness […].” Q: “Did it make you feel that your life could be very different from what it was?” GH: “Yeah, but that presented a problem as well, because then the feeling began in me of, well, it’s all well and good being popular and being in demand but, you know, it’s ridiculous, really. I think from then on I didn’t enjoy fame. That’s when the novelty disappeared, around 1966, and then it became hard work. […] I mean, [LSD] has a humbling power, that stuff. And the ego — to be able to deal with these people thinking you were some wonderful thing — it was difficult to come to terms with. I was feeling, you know, like nothing.” - Rolling Stone, 5 November 1987 (x)

Something about the genuineness of this that just gets you- John’s smile and Paul’s almost childlike, “Good night John”. “You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead” - you better believe it!
„Goodnight Paul“
„Say goodnight John“

LET ME TAKE YOU DOWN.....
John writing Strawberry Fields Sept 1966, Almeria, Spain while filming “How I Won The War”.
One of The Beatles’s undisputed masterpieces, the groundbreaking and influential “Strawberry Fields Forever” (1967) was based on John Lennon’s childhood memories in Liverpool. Lennon described it as one of his most personal songs, “psychoanalysis set to music”. His apparent vulnerability brings an ethereal quality to his singing. The song was one of The Beatles’s most complicated recordings to date, and made use of an arrangement of trumpets and cellos written by their classically trained producer, George Martin.
The orchestral textures were enhanced by the use of a relatively new instrument, the Mellotron, a precursor to the modern digital sampler. The Mellotron uses a keyboard to play samples of acoustic instruments and other real-world sounds that are recorded on magnetic tape. It is first heard in this song in the flute-like introduction, as played by Paul McCartney.
“Strawberry Fields Forever” was originally intended to appear on the band’s seminal Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, but was instead released the same year (1967) as a double-A side with Paul McCartney’s “Penny Lane.” George Martin has publicly stated that taking both “Penny Lane” and “Strawberry Fields Forever” off of Sgt. Pepper’s was the biggest mistake of his career. Both songs are named after sites in Liverpool and are steeped in childhood and English nostalgia.
The song’s infamous “Cranberry sauce” outro, misheard by some fans as “I buried Paul,” became the locus of widespread rumors and conspiracy theories, making “Strawberry Fields Forever” one of the most obsessively analyzed songs in music history.
