FOR THE TIME BEING
KARL OLIVIER is my name. Karl, a variation of the name Charles, is of German origin that means "free man". My second name's pronounced as o-liv-yer and not o-liv-yey as what French would say.
I like listening to songs, especially those that soothe me, or electrify me, or inspire me. I love to be entertained, so count watching movies, especially those that matter, or those that make me thrilled, or those that make me ponder, as one of my most favorite hobbies. I'm also a TV buff, but not as much as before. I like current events. I kind of like politics but I don't like politicians. I like to read articles from the net and the newspaper. I would like to go and discover new things, but would likely turn back whenever necessary. I like to explore places. As I like productivity, I have the tendency to manipulate. I want order, so I'm a bit obsessive and compulsive.
More than those things...
1.) I love to talk and share my ideas.
2.) I love to sing and sing for those people who matter.
3.) I like to think, think and think. Hey, I like to analyze and infer so don't shrug.
4.) I like to write. That's why I have a blog and numerous journals.
5.) Lastly, I love variety.

The Expendables 2 is everything you’d expect it to be: fun, a bit brutal and definitely action-packed. The sequel to 2009’s ensemble action film, The Expendables, The Expendables 2 most definitely satisfied the appetite of action movie fans around the world for its over-the-top action shown by topnotch action stars of yesteryears: Sylverster Stallone, Jean Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenneger, Chuck Norris, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren with the action stars of today: Jason Statham, Randy Couture, among others.
I would recommend this movie to those who want to have fun watching the action movie superstars of the 1980s and 1990s do both action and comedy. You can’t argue with that combination even though there’s not much story to back it up.

The heart of the movie was the APO Hiking Society’s timeless classics. The too familiar romantic story of poor boy and rich girl still worked because the songs of APO (that encompass various themes and emotions) were strewn well in the story. Of course there were cheesy moments, but those moments won’t make you cringe. Instead, they would make you tap your hands and feet or bump your head in the air while hearing the songs of APO because they were that good.

The Bourne Legacy just had the right combination of action and suspense to be considered a good Bourne film. It may not be better than the original Bourne trilogy but what it has shown is enough to jumpstart the franchise.

"The Healing" is the latest horror masterpiece from acclaimed Filipino director, Chito Rono. It's able to top the list of recent horror movies with its cohesive plot, stellar acting, brilliant directing and editing, great visual and sound, and most importantly, solid suspense and thrills.

The Dark Knight Rises surpasses the two previous Batman movies of the acclaimed director, Christopher Nolan. Even though it has the aesthetic of Batman Begins and the mood of The Dark Knight, it exceeds them both in suspense, which is a very vital part of action-fantasy films.
The Dark Knight Rises continues the list of superb superhero films shown this year (The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man). I am saddened that this is the last of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, but I'm also happy at the same time as the legend of the dark knight ended in a great, great way.
