Anyone got a time machine, I need to go into the past and tell Moses not to write anything about the enslavement of his people because it's disrespectful and racist.
Or does this only count for fictional slavery?

I was an HP hater before it was cool. I was an HP hater even before the "Read Another Book" movement. I became an HP hater when HP fans wouldn't let me have a sword during HP-themed grade school recess make-believe. I was an HP hater as a CHILD.

I find it extremely annoying that nowadays some people are pissed off at the mere presence of someone who isn't a (cisgender) able-bodied straight white male in media when the actual problem has long been bad writing and/or trying to make a cash cow off of a certain piece of badly-written representation.
I couldn't give a fuck less that a cast is "DEI" or whatever. What I do care about is the following:
1.) Does it make sense for the setting if the setting is supposed to be realistic or historically based? (This is why you want to do your research.)
2.) Does the dialogue sound natural or is it something no one would say unless they're up on a soapbox? (A particular pet peeve of mine in this regard is when LGBT+ characters either out themselves or say which pronouns they use the very first time they open their mouths in the story. That's just not realistic and is letting the audience know you're not writing a character but are instead hitting their heads with a mallet with a message- which, ironically, makes people more resistant to your message.)
3.) Do the characters- including the minority characters- have flaws? Are they relatable to the average person? Do they feel like actual people you could meet?
4.) Is the messaging, if there is any, relatively subtle so as to not break suspension of disbelief and appropriate to the story being told?
It's really stupid that the culture war is so intense that people get pissed off at the mere presence or absence (depending) of minority characters without caring how the story is actually written and presented. It's as if it's "all or nothing" both ways, and it sucks.

It's such a weird misunderstanding of Earth-43's Batman. I don't understand why post-Crimson Mist stories feature his as this indiscriminate killer, where he literally kills himself in the original story to stop his own rampage.
In Convergence Swamp Thing #2, he also kills himself to keep the Multiverse safe.
But no, he's just a generic vampire.
Red Rain: Bruce and Dick
The Red Rain Universe, also known as Earth-43, is a world of vampires and the supernatural. While Red Rain existed as a Dracula and Batman story before 2008, Dick Grayson was only introduced after the initial trilogy.
Dick first encounters the Batman after he and his family watch Pirates of Penzance at the Gotham cinema. When he and his parents take a shortcut through one of the dark alleys to get home, they are attacked by Batman, who is losing the fight against his bloodlust every night.
Bruce kills Mary and John in front of Dick not only by draining their blood but by decapitating them. (Seriously, Bruce?) And yes, this Bruce lost his parents to Joe Chill as well.
After that night, Dick makes it his goal to kill the Batman. His obsessiveness to get rid of the creature only grows when Gotham turns from fearing Batman to embracing him. The city essentially turns into one huge vampire coven.
Barbara tries to stop Dick from going after Bruce, but when she reveals herself as a vampire and attacks Dick, Dick takes her out. Before she dies, she is found by Donna, who, together with Jason, Kyle and a few others, is visiting Earth-43 during the search for Ray Palmer. Learning about Dick’s mission, they intend to stop him.
All the while Batman interrogates a lesser Vampire about the newcomers. It becomes obvious that the vampires know about Dick’s ongoing vengeance against their kind.
Bruce also apparently doesn’t like to be called Master. By random vampires at least.
Dick is also right there as Bruce kills the other vampire. And Bruce most likely knows...
...because Dick is basically right above him like the badass he is.
When Dick finally finds Bruce’s resting place, he comes close to killing him before the other heroes arrive.
(...sure, Jason. Hypocritical much?)
Dick ends up getting bitten because he can’t kill Bruce but had no problem killing Barbara a few hours ago when she attacked him. This begs the question of what would have happened had Jason and the crew not intervened.
Bruce probably knew Dick was coming. So, would Dick have given Bruce the death he sought, or would Bruce have bitten him anyway?
Probably the latter because the end is one big “We were destined to be together forever“ fest. And commonly the part of Red Rain BruceDick shippers love to squee over.

I find myself a little cash-strapped going into the winter, so I am selling the original artwork for the first THANOS AND DARKSEID comic everyone seems to like so much. Each page is only $75. (You can see the final colored version of the comic here.) I will also be tossing in one of my very few remaining copies of the NYCC mini-comic with each of the pages (signed by me) at no extra cost.
Check out these pages (and a bunch of other less expensive stuff) at my store.
Thanks! :)
