Warnings: reader is jungwon childhood friend, I-land jungwon, I-land mentioned, there are bad memories of I-land, reader wants to comunicate with jungwon after a lot of years, I think that's all
Author's Note: Happy Birthday Jungwon!!!damn how is it possible that this boy who at the time was 16 and was the youngest leader in all of kpop is now 21? time flies but jungwon is getting more handsome every day❤️ Hope you like the fic
✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩
Jungwon and you had been neighbors and best friends since childhood, sharing laughter, games, and secrets. However, when you were only seven, both of your lives changed: your parents had to move to Busan for work, and you had to leave your dear friend behind. At that time, there weren't many ways to stay in touch, and over time, you lost all contact with him.
Years passed, and although you made new friends in Busan and life went on, the memory of Jungwon was always present in your heart. When you turned 16, one day at school, your friend mentioned a survival program called I-LAND. At first, you didn't pay much attention to it, but when you saw one of the contestants, something about his face seemed familiar. It was him: Jungwon, your childhood friend. Seeing him on TV filled you with an indescribable emotion. Throughout the entire program, you supported him with all your heart, feeling proud of what he had accomplished. In the end, when his name was announced as the winner, you cried tears of joy, but also for the other contestants who didn't achieve their dream. As many would say, that show left you with some traumas.
You were so happy for him, but doubt crept in: how could you congratulate him? You knew nothing about his life, and although you remembered how close your parents were to his family, you never imagined you would have a way to contact him. However, you decided to ask your mother, and to your surprise, she still had Jungwon's mother's phone number. With your heart racing, your mom gave you the contact number.
Several minutes passed before you decided to send a message. The phone felt like it weighed a ton in your hands, and although you knew you were making an important decision, the fear of rejection or coming across as too bold was palpable. Finally, with a deep breath, you wrote a sincere message:
"Hi, Jungwon. Is it really you? It's Y/n, your neighbor when we were little. I don't know if you remember me, but I saw you on I-LAND and... wow, it made me so happy to see you there. I've been thinking about you since we were kids, and I always wondered what had become of you. Congratulations on everything you've achieved!"
With a trembling finger, you pressed send. Minutes passed, but there was no response. The fear of having embarrassed yourself started to grow stronger, and just when you thought maybe you should forget about it, your phone buzzed with a message. It was from Jungwon.
"I can't believe it! Of course, I remember you, Y/n. You were always my best friend. I remember how we used to play together and the moments we shared in the neighborhood. It's amazing to hear from you after all these years. Thank you for your message, it made me smile."
Your heart skipped a beat. It was real. He remembered you, and the excitement of reconnecting with someone so special to you was indescribable. The conversation flowed quickly, talking about your lives, how each of you had changed, and what had happened during those years of separation. Jungwon told you about his time training to become an idol, the sacrifices, and the tough moments, but also about how much he enjoyed the support he received from his family and fans.
At the end of the conversation, Jungwon wrote something that left you speechless.
"What do you think about meeting up when I return to Seoul? I'd love to catch up in person. It could be just like before, remember? The two of us, talking and having fun."
The idea of seeing Jungwon after so many years filled you with a mix of nerves and excitement. You knew the reunion would be emotional and full of nostalgia, but also full of new possibilities. After years apart, the friendship you once shared was about to be rekindled. You had been waiting for this moment without even realizing it, and now, although life had taken you down different paths, the bond that united you both felt stronger than ever.
The future was uncertain, but you finally had the chance to recover what you had lost, and this time, you knew you wouldn't let life separate you again.

Author's Note: Happy Birthday Jeongin!!!!!!! I already ate my bread, 1/8. Goal of the year, complete all the skz missions! Well this story has been in my head for more than three months so I thought I'd post it for joengin's birthday, so here it is. hope you enjoy it.
✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩
Jeongin had been in love with Y/n, the girl from the class next door, for a couple of years. It all started two years ago when he arrived at a new school where he didn’t know anyone. He wasn’t someone who made friends easily; in fact, he considered himself quite introverted. He had always been somewhat reserved, which made it hard for him to approach others. To socialize, he felt he needed the other person to take the initiative.
Jeongin’s first day of school was as disorienting as he had imagined. Everything felt strange, from the hallways to the new faces he encountered. But what he didn’t expect, and what deeply surprised him, was when a girl named Y/n approached him without any hesitation. With a genuine smile, she spoke to him confidently, as if they had known each other for years. She introduced herself quickly, and in less than two minutes, she invited him to lunch with her and her friends. Jeongin, somewhat surprised but also relieved, accepted the invitation without thinking too much about it.
During lunch, Jeongin learned that Y/n’s friends were all classmates of her older brother, Lee Minho — or Lee Know, as everyone called him. There were Bangchan, Changbin, Hyunjin, Jisung, Felix, and Seungmin. The group welcomed him immediately, as if he had always been a part of it. Despite his reserved nature, Jeongin soon felt comfortable with them. There was something in the way Y/n included him without hesitation that made him feel, for the first time in a long while, that he had found a place where he truly belonged. Over time, Jeongin realized that he owed much of this to her. Y/n, with her direct and warm way of being, had given him an opportunity he hadn’t even dared to ask for.
As the months passed, Jeongin began to feel something more inside, something he hadn’t recognized before. It was a strange but comforting sensation that grew every time he saw or interacted with her. At first, he thought it was just admiration for her kindness, but soon he realized it was something much deeper. That feeling was what his friends, with a teasing but affectionate tone, called “having a crush.”
One day, during a conversation with Bangchan, his closest friend and confidant, Jeongin couldn’t hold it in anymore and decided to confess what he felt. “Bangchan, I think... I like Y/n,” he said, looking at the ground and blushing. It felt like the first time he had admitted out loud what he had inside. Bangchan, with a clever look and an enigmatic smile, gave him a playful tap on the shoulder. “We already knew that, Jeongin. But if you really like her, why don’t you do something about it?”
Bangchan’s words echoed in his head for nights. Jeongin spent days turning the matter over, imagining a future in which he could confess his feelings to Y/n. Every time he thought about it, his heart raced faster. After much thinking, he decided it was time to take the step. Today would be the day. He had planned everything in detail: first, he would invite her to a quiet area behind the school buildings, a secluded place with tables and benches. There, he would tell her how he felt. If the response was positive, his next step would be to ask, shyly but with hope in his heart, for her to be his girlfriend.
Although Bangchan insisted it would be better to be more direct, Jeongin still had doubts. “How could someone like me appeal to her?” he thought, unsure of himself and his chances. It was hard for him to imagine that someone like Y/n could feel anything more than friendship for him. Despite everything, Jeongin decided he would try, but without high expectations. He would take the step of confessing, without expecting anything in return.
The day of the confession arrived. Jeongin gathered his courage, and during the break, he went to the class next door. Nervously, he asked Y/n to accompany him for a moment. They walked together to the back of the school, where there were some tables. With his face flushed and his heart racing, Jeongin finally said, “Y/n, in these two years of friendship, I’ve had many good moments with you, and little by little, I’ve started to develop something strange inside… and… I really like you.” After saying those words, his face turned red. “I understand if you don’t feel the same… I’ll leave, just forget about it,” he said quickly, taking a step back, about to leave.
But before he could walk away, Y/n grabbed his arm, stopped him, and with a playful smile, gave him a brief kiss on the lips. “I like you a lot too, Jeongin,” she said, her eyes sparkling as she blushed. Jeongin, still stunned, looked at the ground, unable to believe what had just happened. “Do you want to be my girlfriend?” he asked, stammering, too shy to look directly at her.
“Of course!” Y/n exclaimed, throwing herself into his arms. Jeongin smiled widely as he returned the hug, feeling a mix of happiness and relief. However, hearing some shouts in the distance, they slowly separated. When they turned around, they saw their friends, who had been hiding behind the bushes, watching the scene with excitement. Bangchan, Felix, Han, Hyunjin, and Changbin were shouting with happiness, while Seungmin seemed more indifferent but still enthusiastic, though he couldn’t help but smile at the situation. Lee Minho, Y/n’s brother, was watching from a distance, looking serious, clearly jealous of the moment.
“Are you all crazy or what?” Y/n asked, smiling while looking into Jeongin’s eyes.
“You’re not wrong,” Jeongin replied, with a mischievous grin, before leaning in again to join their lips in a sweet kiss.
Who knows, sometimes to take the first step, you have to take risks. As the saying goes, “nothing ventured, nothing gained.” And Jeongin had done it. Now, with the beginning of this new chapter, he was preparing for what would be a relationship full of promises and happy moments, with the hope that this was just the start of something lasting.

Warnings: first meeting, reader x taehyun, first date, mention of failed relationship, beomgyu is reader's best friend, beomgyu is taehyun's childhood friend, a bit of suggestive at the end, that's all i think.
Author's Note: Happy Birthday Taehyun!!!!!!!!! making so many specials is going to kill me. here is the one with taheyun but i'm also working on the ones with jungwon, jeongin, dk, vernon and dino, as well as the one for valentine's day😭 i don't think i should make so many but i can't allow myself to. i hope you enjoy it!
✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩
You weren't sure if you were doing it out of obligation or simply because there was nothing better to do, but in the end, you accepted Beomgyu’s strange proposal: to go on a date with his friend. Let’s be honest, your love life had never been one of those epic stories worth telling. The longest relationship you'd ever had lasted three months, and it wasn’t even something you liked talking about. However, Beomgyu, your good friend since the first day of university, didn’t seem to care about any of that. So, without giving it much thought, he decided to set you up on a date with his childhood friend, a guy named Taehyun. According to Beomgyu, the last time his friend had been on a date was in high school, which left you completely confused. You didn’t know whether to feel sorry for him or just be understanding.
And here you were, at the park where Beomgyu said you’d meet, distractedly scrolling through your social media, when suddenly you felt a soft tap on your shoulder. You looked up and found yourself face-to-face with a really handsome guy. His dark hair fell naturally over his forehead, and his big eyes, along with a genuine smile, made him feel surprisingly easy to be around despite being a complete stranger. His well-toned body was evident in the way his plain white T-shirt hugged his torso, complemented by a leather jacket and blue jeans that seemed to be part of his personal style.
—"Excuse me, are you Y/n?" —he asked, and you quickly stood up from the bench.
—"Yes, I’m Y/n. And you must be Taehyun?" —you replied, unable to hide a slight curiosity in your expression.
—"Yes, I’m Taehyun," —he said, and a moment of silence followed, both of you looking each other over. Strangely, it wasn’t awkward; in fact, it felt... comfortable? He broke the silence.
—"Well, shall we go?" —he said with a smile.
—"Sure, let’s go," —you answered, smiling back as you both started walking. You decided to start the conversation.
—"So… you’ve known Beomgyu since you were kids?" —you asked, curiosity clear in your voice.
—"Yeah, our moms are good friends. What about you? How long have you known Beomgyu?"
The rest of the afternoon passed slowly. You went to a café, and Taehyun acted like a total gentleman. At first, his only topic of conversation was Beomgyu, but soon enough, you both realized you had more in common than you thought. By the time the date was over, you’d agreed to meet up again soon. Who knows, maybe something more would come of it… and the best (or worst) part of it all was that it was thanks to Beomgyu.
Extra
—"So, did you kiss?" —Beomgyu asked, lounging on your bed.
—"For the umpteenth time, Beomgyu, we didn’t kiss!" —you said, trying to keep your cool. —"But we did agree to meet again."
—"So, did you sleep together?" —he insisted, as if he hadn’t heard you.
—"Beomgyu!" —you said, blushing completely.

First love is never forgotten
Tumblr media Tumblr media
☆☆☆☆☆☆✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩✩
Words: 500
Warnings: Sad, reader with a broken heart, jaehyun x reader friend, woonhak is readers big brother, reader x taesan? mention of leehan, sungho, riwoo. that's all i think.
Author's Note: First of all I was planning to do a nice Jaehyun x reader fic but I don't know why I decided to change it to a sad one. I'm also working on a sad Felix fic, and birthday specials (I'm out of imagination) I hope you like it and tell me if there are any mistakes or something
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Jaehyun had been your neighbor for years, and your brother, Woonhak, had been his good friend long before you met them. In fact, you'd spent at least two years sharing moments with him and his group of friends: Sungho, Riwoo, Taesan, and Leehan. Even though they treated you as one of the group, there was something you could never control: your growing admiration for Jaehyun. At first, you saw him only as the friendly guy who lived across the street, but over time, you realized that what you felt for him was much more than simple friendship.
The problem was that, shortly after your brother and Jaehyun became friends, you fell in love with him. It wasn’t easy to hide, though you tried to disguise it, especially because you never imagined he could see you any other way than as Woonhak’s little sister. And it wasn’t because Jaehyun didn’t have options, no. The real issue was that, for some reason, he was the only one in his group of friends who went to an all-boys school. He seemed isolated from the rest of the world, which, on one hand, gave you a little hope, but on the other hand, it just made you feel more powerless, knowing he would never look at you the way you looked at him.
It was strange, wasn’t it? That despite sharing so many moments together, the words you wanted to say always got stuck in your throat, drowned by an invisible barrier he had unknowingly built around your friendship. And although the other guys treated you like a sister, Jaehyun had always been different: close, attentive… but never enough to make you think there was something more between you.
But everything worsened the day you made a new friend and invited her to your house. You never imagined that the same day Woonhak’s friends would also come over, much less that this girl, whom you considered a friend, would spend so much time talking to Jaehyun downstairs. You never imagined they would exchange numbers, and certainly never expected that, two weeks later, she and Jaehyun would go on a date.
A month later, Jaehyun and your friend became a couple, and your heart shattered into pieces. Now you had no one to talk to about how you felt because you felt pathetic. You had been afraid of rejection, and now, because of your cowardice, you knew you would never have a chance with that guy you had been in love with for over two years.
And even though you knew you’d never have a chance with him, the worst part wasn’t the pain of seeing him with someone else, but the emptiness he left behind, like a scar that would never fully heal. Sometimes, love just isn’t enough, and some stories remain incomplete, lost in time. Days and weeks passed, and what was once a silent love faded into the distance. In the end, it was easier to ignore the pain than to face it. Without realizing it, you started spending more time with Taesan, one of the guys from the group. He wasn’t Jaehyun, and he never would be, but at least he made you feel like there was still some light in your days.
Maybe, deep down, you knew you’d never forget Jaehyun completely, but with Taesan, at least you didn’t have to constantly remember him. And that, for now, was all you could do: move on, even if it was with someone who could never take Jaehyun’s place in your heart.

Leehan wants to shower with you
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Words: 500 (short I know)
Author's Note: @zzhengyu asked for it sohere it is, hope you like it.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
You were comfortably reclining on the couch in your apartment, leisurely scrolling through your social media when a faint creak from the front door interrupted your peace. At first, you thought it was Leehan, your boyfriend, returning from his internship, so you didn’t pay much attention. However, you soon heard his footsteps approaching the living room, and something about his demeanor struck you as different.
Donghyun entered, but there was something in his gaze that threw you off. There was an unusual intensity in his eyes, a kind of need that you couldn’t quite identify. At first, you thought maybe he was just tired from the day, but there was something else in his expression that made you hesitate.
You looked into his eyes, and with a soft smile, you asked, “Hey, hyunnie, how was your day?” He looked at you for a moment, almost as if searching for the right words, before he quietly replied, “It was good... just a bit tired.” He paused, as though processing something in his mind, then added with a vulnerability you hadn’t noticed before, “Y/n... can you shower with me?”
His voice was soft, but something in his tone made you feel that there was more behind that simple request. His gaze, intense and sincere, wrapped around you like a silent plea, as if his words weren’t just a request, but an urgent need that went beyond the physical.
You stayed silent for a moment, surprised by Donghyun’s sudden request. His eyes never left yours, and in his gaze, there was more than just simple exhaustion. You could see the tension behind that soft voice, as if he were asking for something he didn’t know how to express any other way.
“Are you okay?” you asked cautiously, raising an eyebrow as you shifted slightly on the couch, concern beginning to replace your confusion. His response didn’t come right away. Instead, he took a step toward you, just enough for you to feel the air grow heavier between you.
“I just... feel like I need to be close to you,” he finally said, his voice rough, almost as if he were fighting against something he couldn’t control. “It’s been a long day, and... I don’t know, maybe I just want to be with you, but in a different way, a closer way. I think I need to disconnect from everything for a while.”
The sincerity in his words moved you, and although the request was unexpected, you understood that it wasn’t just about physical intimacy, but a desire for connection, for seeking refuge in someone who meant so much to him.
“Okay,” you finally said, with a soft smile, trying to lighten the moment. “Let’s shower together then. If that helps you feel better...”
Donghyun smiled, relief flooding his expression, and his eyes softened just a bit, as if the weight on his shoulders had started to lift. He stepped toward you, but before he could reach you, he stopped you with a subtle gesture.
“Thank you, Y/n,” he whispered. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
In that moment, you understood that the need in his gaze wasn’t just a physical request but a manifestation of everything he couldn’t put into words. Without saying anything more, you took his hand, and together, you walked toward the bathroom. You both knew that it wasn’t just a shower that you needed, but the space to share, to ease each other from the weight of the world.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Beomgyu, the star chaser of Gryffindor, never imagined he would end up in such a situation. His team had just lost the Quidditch final to Hufflepuff. Yes, Hufflepuff, the team no one had considered a threat. The cool evening breeze was blowing hard over the field, but the feeling of defeat in his chest was much heavier than the icy wind cutting through the air.
“How do you feel, Beomgyu?” you asked, letting your playful tone break the silence. You watched him as he tried to hide his frustration behind a distant gaze. For the three years you’d been part of the team, Beomgyu never missed an opportunity to mock you when your team lost to Gryffindor. Now, the situation had changed. The power was on your side.
Beomgyu snorted, gripping his broom as if it could ease the knot in his stomach. Rage and humiliation mixed inside him, but his pride kept him from acknowledging the defeat.
“Shut up, it was just pure luck,” he replied, though the words tasted bitter. He was too hurt to be the first to admit it.
“Do you remember? The loser had to buy the winner a butterbeer? I think 'bye' was what we bet on, right?” you added, smiling with satisfaction. Seeing him so defeated gave you an oddly satisfying feeling, especially after all those years when he’d mocked your failures.
Beomgyu frowned as he recalled the bet he had made. At the time, it had seemed harmless, but now, after the defeat, it hit him harder than ever. The wind ruffled his hair, bringing with it a sense of emptiness. For a moment, he wished the defeat didn’t sting so much, but he knew there was no turning back.
“How about we meet this weekend at the entrance to Hogsmeade?” you asked enthusiastically as you started walking toward your team’s celebration. The golden afternoon light fell over the field, but your energy remained intact.
Beomgyu slowly looked up, his face still marked by frustration. He knew he couldn’t escape the situation. Finally, he accepted the inevitable.
“Fine, I’ll do it. But only because I pity the fact that you’ll never beat me again,” he replied, forcing a mocking smile, though his eyes betrayed a mix of frustration and sadness.
“See you,” you said, turning your back and quickly walking toward your friends.
Beomgyu walked alone, seeking the company of Yeonjun and Taehyun. The walk to the Great Hall felt endless, and the uncomfortable silence between him and his friends only intensified the weight of his defeat.
“I’m not going to lose!” Yeonjun exclaimed with a mischievous grin, mimicking Beomgyu’s defiant attitude from a few hours ago. His tone only reminded Beomgyu of how bitter the defeat had been.
“Shut up! It was pure luck,” Beomgyu replied, clenching his fists at his sides. He wanted the topic to end, but his friends wouldn’t stop pressing.
Taehyun, the calmest of the group, put an arm around Beomgyu and, with a friendly smile, tried to ease the tension.
“Luck or not, Soobin and HueningKai already went off to celebrate their house’s victory,” Taehyun remarked in a nearly philosophical tone. He knew his words would only make Beomgyu angrier, but he also hoped they would calm him down.
Beomgyu sighed, looking ahead where the lights of the Great Hall glowed in the distance. His confident façade was starting to crumble, but he didn’t want to show vulnerability. With a quick movement, he started walking toward the hall, where the celebration was already in full swing.
“Let’s just go,” he muttered in a low voice, almost a whisper, resigned to the defeat.
Inside the Great Hall, they sat at a table with other students, surrounded by murmurs about the match. The voices blended together, but Beomgyu barely registered them. His mind was still stuck on what had happened.
“Hey, what was up with that last play?” Yeonjun asked, a sly smile on his face as he grabbed a piece of bread. He was enjoying it more than he let on, and his tone only amplified Beomgyu’s hurt.
Beomgyu looked up from his plate, his face visibly tense. The noise of the conversations and the smell of food seemed to fade for a moment. There was only him, the defeat, and the discomfort of Yeonjun’s question.
“What about the last play?” Beomgyu responded, trying to avoid the conversation. His furrowed brow and serious expression made it clear he wasn’t willing to discuss it.
“When, instead of scoring the quaffle, you just stood there watching the Hufflepuff seeker,” Yeonjun said with a teasing smile, knowing that mistake had cost them the game.
Beomgyu felt the shame rising up his neck. In his mind, the scene played out in slow motion: the quaffle floating in the air, the frantic noise around him, and then, suddenly, he, distracted, watching the Hufflepuff seeker in the middle of the play. One second of distraction, and the whole team paid the price.
“It’s true. If you’d scored that goal, Gryffindor would’ve won, even if Hufflepuff caught the Snitch,” Taehyun commented, his tone serious, as if he too regretted the play.
Beomgyu fell silent, staring at his plate, hoping the floor would swallow him whole. Humiliation overwhelmed him, but he tried to hide it, as he always did.
“Do you… like her?” Yeonjun asked provocatively, dropping the question like a bomb, while smiling teasingly. He couldn’t resist taking every opportunity.
Beomgyu stiffened, unable to look them in the eye. The heat rose to his cheeks, and an uncomfortable sensation took over him.
“What? Me? In love with Y/N? I don’t think so,” he quickly replied, trying to sound nonchalant, but his nervousness was clear. He ran a hand through his hair and looked away. “I just talked to her to mock how bad her team was… Besides, I wasn’t looking at her, I just got a little distracted.”
Taehyun and Yeonjun exchanged a knowing look. They knew perfectly well what Beomgyu was refusing to admit. They decided not to press any further, but neither of them was fooled. Something else was going on, and Beomgyu wasn’t as indifferent as he pretended.
Days passed, but the frustration of defeat didn't leave Beomgyu's mind. He wondered if he really liked Y/N or if she was just bothering him to get his attention, like in the movies his mother used to force him to watch. When the weekend came, Beomgyu prepared to go to the entrance of Hogsmeade, with the doubt of falling in love hovering in his head.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
After waiting for a while, Beomgyu saw a figure approaching through the snow. It was Y/N, running towards him, her breath visible in the cold air.
“Beomgyu! I'm here!” she said, somewhat exhausted from running so much, her face flushed from the cold.
“It's about time.” Beomgyu replied with a mocking smile, knowing that she always used to take longer.
“I highly doubt you've been here for long. At most, you must have been here for three minutes... you're not exactly punctual,” she commented in a playful tone.
“Fine, let's just go now.” “I want to get out of this,” Beomgyu said, starting to walk towards The Three Broomsticks.
“Whatever you say, loser,” you replied with a mischievous smile.
They began to walk side by side towards The Three Broomsticks. Their hands brushed against each other from time to time, something so simple, but it made Beomgyu nervous. He couldn’t help but wonder if the brush had been casual or if, somehow, she had done it on purpose. He wasn’t sure what he felt, but he did know that there was something in his chest that throbbed harder every time he was near her.
“I’ll go get the butterbeers,” Beomgyu said as they entered the pub, trying to hide his nervousness.
And you, with a knowing smile, stayed waiting at the table.
Beomgyu disappeared into the crowd, walking towards the bar of The Three Broomsticks. His steps were quick, almost hurried, but somehow, his nervousness was noticeable. You knew that butterbeer was just an excuse to prolong the conversation, but you didn't know how to continue handling the tension you felt. Meanwhile, you stayed at the table, watching the candlelight flicker on the wooden tables and the laughter and chatter of the students mix with the heat of the place.
A few minutes later, Beomgyu came back, the two butterbeers in his hands, one of them so foamy that the foam almost overflowed. His eyes, which before reflected the frustration of the lost game, now showed something different: a slight glint of curiosity, of uncertainty.
"Here you go." He said, leaving it in front of you. An awkward silence settled between the two of you, as if everything that had happened until then was weighing too much.
You took the butterbeer, but before taking the first sip, you dared to speak.
"You know, you don't have to be so serious all the time." You commented with a smile, looking to break the ice. "It's just a game." So what if they lost?
Beomgyu frowned, but then, seeing your relaxed expression, the trace of tension on his face dissipated a little.
“It’s not that simple for me.” He said, looking down at his own beer before taking a sip. “I don’t like losing, especially when I’m this close to victory.”
His words had a softer tone, as if he was finally letting go of the facade he’d kept up all day.
“And yet, here we are. Loser and winner, in the same place.” You replied, winking at him. He let out a small laugh, as if the mockery made him feel a little lighter.
Beomgyu raised his glass, toasting without a word. You did the same, and before you both could drink, a long silence enveloped you again.
But this time, it was different. The tension wasn’t the same. Instead of awkwardness, there was a kind of calm, a feeling that everything was in its place, even if they still couldn’t quite understand what was going on between them.
Beomgyu looked out the window, where the snow was starting to fall again, covering the streets of Hogsmeade. Finally, he turned to you.
“You know, even though you beat me, I’m not going to let you forget me that easily.” He said with a determined smile, as if he still hadn’t fully accepted that his team had lost.
You leaned back in your chair, surprised by his change in attitude.
“What does that mean?” You asked, arching an eyebrow, intrigued.
Beomgyu shrugged, but there was something else in his gaze: a challenge.
“It means that next time, I’ll be prepared. To win. And, of course, to keep making fun of you until I make you lose your temper.” He said with a confident smile, as always.
You laughed, but deep down, something inside you woke up. Maybe, just maybe, his attitude was no longer just an innocent joke. Maybe there was something more behind those provocations.
—So… get ready to keep losing. —I answered with a knowing smile, raising your glass.
You both toasted once more. And, although the future was full of uncertainty, for that night, everything seemed to fit into place. No rush, no pressure, just the promise of more encounters, more challenges, and maybe something more.
The sound of glasses clinking together echoed in the warm atmosphere of the pub, as both immersed themselves in the celebration that was not only of victory, but also of what could be beginning to be born between jokes, butterbeers, and a shared defeat. A while later, you broke the silence again. “And what are you going to do now? The end of school year vacations are about to arrive,” you asked, curious. “I don’t know, I’ll probably stay home practicing, and maybe visit Taehyun,” Beomgyu said, aware that his vacations would be quite lonely. “And you? What are you going to do?” he asked, back. “You know, stay home, read, maybe go somewhere on vacation… the usual, nothing interesting,” I answered, knowing that my vacations would be boring too. “I see,” Beomgyu replied, with a slight smile, as the two of them got lost in the conversation, although deep inside, something was starting to change.
After talking for a long while, Beomgyu remembered something Yeonjun had mentioned. A few weeks ago, the five friends were having breakfast together in the Great Hall, when suddenly an owl left a letter in front of the Slytherin of the group. Yeonjun took it and opened it to read. “Dear son, since the Quidditch World Cup is coming up, I decided to buy some tickets for the finals, there are six for you, I’ll let you choose who will accompany us.” “You’ll invite us, right Yeonjun?” Soobin asked curiously. “Of course he will, he doesn’t have many other friends,” Beomgyu said mockingly. “And who will have the sixth ticket?” Taehyun asked. “I don’t know, there are five of us. We could find out who else might want to accompany us,” Yeonjun commented. “We’ll see who to invite, I’ll go practice,” Beomgyu said, getting up from his chair.
Currently…
Beomgyu thought for a moment. He knew that his friends still didn’t know who else to invite to complete the group. And, remembering how much Y/N loved Quidditch, a somewhat crazy idea began to form in his mind. Despite what he felt, he could no longer deny that something inside him had changed since he had started paying more attention to it. “Hey, Y/N, since you love Quidditch so much, how would you feel if I gave you a ticket to accompany me, Yeonjun, Soobin, Taehyun and HueningKai to the Quidditch World Cup final during the holidays? Since you said you didn’t have much to do…” he said, nervously, hoping it wasn’t a completely absurd idea. Y/N looked up, surprised, but a smile began to form on her lips. “Really? Sure! I’d love to, plus I get along well with HueningKai and Soobin,” she replied excitedly. Beomgyu felt an immediate relief, but when she added a question, his nerves rose again. “But why invite me of all people?” she asked curiously, with a small, playful smile. Beomgyu stayed silent, not knowing what to say exactly. His impulsiveness had led him to make the invitation without thinking too much, but now that the situation was becoming more real, he couldn’t find a convincing answer. Deep down, he knew the reason was simpler than he himself wanted to accept. “Because…” he began, and then stopped. He took a deep breath, feeling the words finally come out naturally. “Because I want you around, Y/N. And… well, I know you like Quidditch. It would be fun to have you there with us.” The silence that followed was brief, but charged with an energy that neither of them knew how to handle.
The atmosphere was calmer, but something had changed between them, a mutual understanding that was felt in the air. In the end, Y/N smiled warmly, as if everything made sense, and accepted the invitation. Beomgyu, relieved and a little nervous, felt as if he had taken a step forward in something that, although complicated, was beginning to matter more to him than he had imagined. As he thought about everything he still didn’t understand, Y/N leaned towards him. “Wait, you have something here,” you said, taking a napkin and approaching to wipe his cheek, with a touch so simple and soft that it made Beomgyu blush a little. “Ready,” you said, with a small smile that also tinted your cheeks red. “T-thanks…” Beomgyu said, his voice a little shaky, clearly nervous, although he was trying to remain calm. They stared into each other's eyes for a moment, both a little bewildered, until it was Beomgyu who broke the silence, as if by doing so he could sort out what he was feeling. "Do you want to... go to Honeydukes?" he said, with a somewhat nervous, but sincere smile. "Sure! Are we going?" she replied, quickly standing up, as enthusiastic as ever. Beomgyu couldn't help but smile at her excitement, and as they walked towards the exit, the connection between them felt stronger and stronger, as if if everything that had happened before was leading them to a new chapter. Beomgyu couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, all of this wasn't a simple distraction. The spring wind crashed against them as they left the store, but neither the cold nor Beomgyu's internal complications prevented him from taking her hand, a gesture so simple, but loaded with a new emotion that both of them still didn't fully understand. And, as they ran towards Honeydukes, Beomgyu thought that perhaps the time had come to accept something that he had been avoiding for a while. Maybe, just maybe, there was something else in his chest that was worth taking the risk for. They went shopping at Honeydukes, still holding hands although neither of them had tried to avoid it, and as they left the store each one with a bag, they began to walk and he could notice how you seemed to be cold, he knew that you were probably regretting not having brought something warmer, so he decided to give you his coat so he put it on your shoulders. You looked at him curiously again, to which he just smiled, to which you smiled back. Beomgyu, at this rate, knew that the best thing would be to accept his feelings and declare his love. Just when they reached the entrance of Hogsmeade, Beomgyu stopped walking, to which you looked at him curiously again. “Hey, Y/N, there’s something I wanted to tell you…” he said, nervous. “What happened, Beomgyu?” you said worried. “Well, it’s that I… I think… that…” he said while playing with his hands and looking at the ground. “I… I like you! Okay?!” he said suddenly raising his gaze. To which you were quite surprised, but you simply smiled at him and said. “I like you too, Beomgyu, for a long time…” you said nervously, looking at the ground. When you realized, Beomgyu had approached you, took your cheeks and brought your face closer to his. Soon, both of you fused your lips in a small kiss that, at the same time, contained multiple feelings. “What does that mean?” you said amused when you separated your lips. “It means if you want to be my girlfriend.” he said smiling. Soon you joined your lips again in a quick kiss. “Is that a yes?” Beomgyu asked mockingly after finishing the kiss. “Of course, now let’s go, the last one to arrive is a rotten egg!” you said, starting to run in the direction of the castle. Beomgyu followed you, thinking that, for the first time, his friends were really useful to him and how they would react when they found out that he now had a cute girlfriend.
That was how what was once a rivalry became the beginning of a love story.
